This is a time capsule for the ages. Incredible, impressive and brings me back to my work years at JFK and seeing all these terminal buildings and classical aircrafts. Thank you for the work and passion you have put into this project. Its appreciated.
Thank you. It was always something I wanted to do as it reminded me of the years I would walk from terminal to terminal spotting aircraft from all over the world.
This guy needs to post a lot more content he is the goat ❤
Thanks. If you type in You Tube "Airport Diorama Brian Keene" you'll find a total of three videos of interest. More to come.
Hi Brian, I just saw your Pan Am model at the cradle of aviation museum. Top notch man. Looks amazing.
Hey that's Great! I'm delivering a 1:400 scale display of the Marine Air Terminal as it appeared in the '40's at the end of September. C'mon back!
@@briankeene1468 I will be there. Tell me what day and we can link up! Thank you so much for the great news.
@@chamkila911 Sure. I'll be setting it up on Sept. 28th and moving the Worldport to a new display case in another area of the PA museum.
@@briankeene1468 Just to confirm Saturday Sept 28, 2024 you will be at the Cradle Of Aviation Museum.
@@chamkila911 Sorry. Been out of the country. Just saw your message. Yes- the Marine Air Terminal is now on display at the PA Museum.
This is so awesome
Twa,pan am,national,terminal jonh f Kennedy? Waou
They are working on a massive jfk expansion project and i recently flew out of the old BOAC terminal 7 and i heard that it was getting demolished soon and i managed to take some pictures and videos of thin interior/exterior as a memory of the terminal after it is torn down! Though i miss the old design i liked the worldport and the sundrome T6 at the airport!
Are you posting more?

Ive seen 100 different model airports, but I’ve never seen one like this. This is the best model airport I’ve ever seen! Great job!
Hey Thanks- It started off as a one terminal idea and just took off from there. It gave me a reason to collect a lot of wonderful models!!
Amazing work. It's a pity that JFK didn't preserve at least part of Pan Am Worldport and did a similar tribute. I loved seeing Pan Am and TWA jets at Heathrow
Thanks for your comments. I'm in the process of building T3 at LHR as it appeared in the '70's.
I am inspired officialy!
Great! That's the idea!
@@briankeene1468 yeah I tried making my model airport just a week ago and it was kinda hard but I made it the airport is halfway done as of right now!
Great work
Thank you so much 😀
Just went there last year and I got to say that you did a fantastic job recreating the TWA terminal 👍
Glad you had a chance to see it up close.
jfk is just an example of how airports grow and change over time!
Yes indeed. As a young boy- I thought it would stay the same forever but I didn't realize that change is constant. Part of the reason I built this was to honor that memory.
@briankeene1468 yep, I can agree, although I was very little when the worldport, sundrome, and the Old terminal 8 were around however I did fly out of kennedy Airport back then on PIA airlines and I'm not sure wich terminal it came at but now the terminals 2,1 and 7 are getting demolished so yeah but my grandpa used to work at jfk throughout the late 90s and early 2000s so he tells me story's all the time and it's like as if jfk is gonna be growing forever!
I love your dioramas. The amount of work and skill that goes into creating these 1:400 scale models is astounding, and you build them with remarkable finesse and dedication. Thank you for building this! I used to collect the Herpa 1:400 models, but I switched to collecting the Lintoy jets. Next time I book a Jet Blue flight out of Boston, I'll be sure to connect through JFK so I can see this. Even though I'd have to go through security again, it would be worth it.
Thanks so much for you encouraging words. I truly enjoy every aspect including the research, problem solving the architecture, scouting out the rare models, and creating a wow factor with customized materials. Like any realistic scene you are never happy until you have added as much detail as possible. Let me know what you think of the exhibit when you pass through the terminal someday.
@@briankeene1468 I will for sure. Thanks again!
What A Wonderful Airport Retro I ❤ it!
You should do a full model collection!! :)
Thanks . Do you mean a review of each of the models?
It is great to see people bringing back TWA's memories on display. Why the author stopped at 60's & 70's don't forget the 80's TWA carried 50% of all Trans Atlantic passengers I think in 1985.
When it comes to building period pieces- you have to pick a specific time frame of no more than 10 years. If you begin to mix models of several decades, it no longer looks realistic. I picked the seventies because that was the time frame that had the most impact on me.
You need to make more videos about the airport! Congrats on the hard work!
Thanks. I have a couple of additional videos including this one:ua-cam.com/video/Q9DEIWOKCIA/v-deo.html
Here is another video on JFK ua-cam.com/video/Mz2A_C6Oc2Q/v-deo.html
😳 wow that’s bigger than my model airport
Thanks. How big is your airport diorama?
Phenomenal work. I too as all watching am an airplane model enthusiast. Your JFK airport model is simply put off the chart. I remember growing up in Atlanta with Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport the huge Delta hub as well as a large hub for Eastern Airlines which was actually based out of Miami.
Thanks for your comments. JFK Airport was very unique and included a nice mix of aircraft types in the seventies. You might want to check out my other video of a TWA Flight Center install at the TWA Hotel.
Where did you get civilian cars at this scale at I have been looking by for some forever
Primarily through Ebay. Check JetX 1:400 cars. Also- a website called Shapeways. They have 3D printed vehicles.
This model airport IS HEAVEN
This is incredible, you really inspired me to build a model airport, I wish I had the space for it tho maybe someday
This airport can be broken down into lightweight foam boards that are 3 x 4 feet and easily storable in a standard closet.
@@briankeene1468 true I do have a large storage area
@@briankeene1468hello, I’m moving to Houston and luckily my room is massive so I can finally build a model airport. I’m thinking of recreating Boston Logan airport terminal c and e since when I first moved to the United States I came via Boston. I measured out the section I want to recreate of Boston Logan and it should be 5.6ft by 5.6ft.
@@Mo_Aviation Congratulations on the move to Houston. I lived there for several years and enjoyed it. Your dimensions sound about right. Feel free to reach out if you want to chat about your vision.
@@briankeene1468 thanks, I’m pretty excited about the project and my vision is to include most of the t section part of terminal c and include at lest the old part of terminal E and I do wanna include the atc so I wanna shift the parking space a little bit to include the whole atc tower
that is absolutely beautiful
Appreciate your comment
I am your 300 sub you really inspired my to make 1/400 airport thanks
Thank you for subscribing. Please let me know if I can help in any way.
Very nice and brings back great memories. What brand of model are the Pan Am 747s and the Varig 747? Also would you consider making a 1980s Miami Airport including the Eastern terminals?
Thanks for your comments. The PA 747's are primarily Geminjets and the SP's are NG. I've thought about Miami. Currently researching Heathrow. I'm partial to a lot of 747's!
Oh and the RG 747 is Aeroclassics.
Amazing!
Thanks!
I’m sitting in the lobby right now looking at it and watching this video. The model is incredible. The more you look the more detail you find. Wife’s nervous I’ve found a new hobby. Lol great job!!
Haha. Thanks so much. Let's hope you found a new hobby! If you need any advice feel free to reach out. It was great fun.
Looks fantastic, fabulous addition to the already fabulous hotel. One question, are you going to rebuild it for your JFK diorama with all the other airlines or is that no longer around.
Thanks for your kind words. I have all the templates if I need to create a duplicate. We're currently discussing displaying the other terminal models at JFK. Stay tuned.
Absolutely fantastic! Such a beauty when you enter the hotel lobby and I always sit back mesmerized!
The terminal is quite stunning. Transports us back to the seventies! I tried to capture that excitement in this display.
Great Job, that display is stunning.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing Brian!! So great.
Thanks Doug!! Great fun.
Beautiful!
Awesome, can't wait to see it in person someday
Thank you. If you're ever at JFK, the TWA Hotel (and diorama) is definitely worth visiting. It feels like your transported back to the seventies.
As stunning as the terminal itself. Absolutely perfect.
Thanks. It was a lot to live up to! Hopefully it will be on display for many years!
Aweosme that you're creation as been placed at the twa hotel ! But why glueing the aircraft on the floor? They will be glued forever and can't be moved in rhe furure ! Why doing that if one day you want to recover them.
That is a great question. When I first connected with the TWA Hotel, they wanted the flexibility of moving the display in case they had special events (weddings, conventions, etc). I was concerned that if they moved it, the models or other parts would shift. Therefore, the only solution was to glue everything down. I realized that it means that they are forever attached, however, the Hotel purchased the display so there wont be a need to recover the models.
Just saw your TWA diorama for the new terminal... Spot on! Great work..also visit your Kennedy here from time to time when I get stuck. I've built Houston Hobby as it was originally in the 60's and Houston Intercontinental in the 70's. my fifty vintage airliners now have homes....I have added runways into Hobby and the lighting inside the terminals and runways makes fantastic night views...I just wanted the airports the way I remembered them in their classic times...they have since been torn down and revitalized and look nothing like what I have made...thanks, Brian for the inspiration.
Thanks for your encouragement. Would love to see photos of your IAH.
Amazing airport! Where did you get the tiny colored cars on the parking garage?
Some I bought from Shapeways. They were unpainted, so had to paint them. Others I bought from a friend whose wife hand painted them.
They are hard to find...I found some from a guy that makes 3D printing...and some were colored and others white and had to paint. I can put site address if interested... my message: when you find some get them...to keep thinking you will see more....you won't. ha ha ......
Amazing work. I am currently working on a 1/400 Pan Am Worldport. Building one has been in my bucket list. I never visited the rooftop parking area. Are those 6 areas on the rooftop elevators or vents? Thank you
Thanks for your comment. Those areas are indeed elevator shafts. Would love to see your finished product.

Nice to see some classic model collections, classic aircraft don't get enough attention from model companies. Too many 737-800s and A320s these days haha
Yes. 747's make the best billboard for any airline. Plus they look so much cooler than garden variety narrowbodies.
@@briankeene1468 Oh, for me... it's the 727... that beauty tells classic times and the DC-8 but 727, she steals my heart.
Absolutely outstanding. The attention to detail is faultless and the TWA flight centre it magnificent.
Thank you. If you get a chance, check out the TWA Hotel at JFK. The Flight Center portion of my diorama is now on display there.
@@briankeene1468 I definitely will next time I'm over in the US
My dad he came from Vietnam to Thailand, then Manila them the Pam am to JFK then more of family members came to US my dad the first family member to came in the US JFK airport and great work and I’m a collector of 1/400 myself as well and an aviation spotting and Great Work!
Thank you Anthony- Hopefully this effort will inspire the next generation of collectors and builders.
did you take this to the Newark show last year?
Yes indeed. I brought the entire 9 terminals. The PA Worldport now resides in the Cradle of Aviation Museum and the TW Flight Center is on display at the TWA Hotel at JFK.
@@briankeene1468 I thought so! what a magnificent piece of work and an honor to have seen it in person! Ill miss it at EWR show in a few weeks from now..
I plan to do this in the future with a 70’s, 90’s, & late 2000’s eras. Of course it’s all a dream and if it were to happen, it would be a long time away. Incredible airport, you put a lot of love into this! Have fun with it!
Thanks. I would encourage you to get started sooner rather than later. Once you see the structure coming together, it is exciting. You can start small and expand over time. Good luck.
Incredible work! Absolutely fantastic!
Thanks!
Cool
That Airport diorama looks epic, especially the TWA and PAN AM Terminals amazing! the aprons the whole concourse, some modern some old school, appreciate the old school clippers, keep up the good work mate.
