As my auto mechanics teacher told me in 1977 all a n engine needs to run is fuel and fire. And that is true so we need to go back to carbs points and a coil and to hell with all this electronic garbage. If we get hit with an emp the whole world go to pot everything fries nothing works so to all the lil go green whimps cars don't hurt the environment it's the hot air coming out of your pie holes let up live our lives and stop all the impossible to fix electronic poop !

This all fine and dandy, but check this out my friends, my 2001 Toyota tundra threw 2 codes, upper bank 02 and a transmission code, what! Trans code🤔, my brother in law said the torque converter is incorporated into the emissions system, Great, now what, so I googled and found a man in a lab coat that basically said, “ it all starts at the air filter and ends at the tail pipe, the issue is usually before the victim, so I inspect the air filter alls fine, next is the MAFS, it’s dirty, I clean it, two days later no more codes😜

stupid question, would the check engine indicator light and vsc indicator lights go on if there was an issue with the mass air flow sensor.

I have a stalling in low gear, I cleand the MAF, clean the trottle body, still no change but this problem it occure only during summer time, the shops already check it they found no problem, no engine light. Maybe I have injectors problem not MAF.

So then what is a MAP sensor and how do you know if it's faulty?

I suppose it could be that . When my car is cold everything is fine, car respond and pulls well, once its warmed up it becomes, hesitant, non responsive, lacking power and fuel consumption isnt great either,

When my MAF sensor went out the main symptoms were struggling to gain acceleration, engine light was blinking off and on, my fuel was being ate up VERY quickly.

If you unplug the maf whole ifling and the enhine stalled. That means its functioning fine right, and if you unplug it and nothing happen thats means it a bad maf?

Is there a fault code for a bad MAF sensor?

Just discovered it was a throttle body giving us issues

I think I have a very bad throttle body right now because I just spent more than 10 litres on a less than 10km journey and am having very rough idling and my plugs are clogged with smoke. my car is toyota spacio 1999 4A engine.

Code readers are near worthless. Any number of different sensors cause the same problems. What we need is a code reader that tells you what sensor is bad. A reader that you can directly plug each individual sensor and see if it is good or bad. A reader specifically for that car and year. I have two Mercedes. I bought a specific code reader for that car $800 bucks. Still it was not helpful. Dealers, who spend, many thousands of dollars, are the only ones who may be specific to an individual sensor. I can measure ohms in comparison to one sensor to another, but that isn't fool proof either, when the sensor can't be tested under a voltage load.
