In this video we head down to the magical Magdalena Bay in Baja Cali Sur, Mexico to chase mahi mahi and striped marlin on the fly! We stayed with MagBay Lodge in Puerto San Carlos.

What an epic trip! My first fly out in Alaska. I decided to pursue Silver Salmon on the fly on the Chuitna River for my first time heading west over the Cook Inlet. I flew with Alaska West Air and got to fish with my good buddy Josh Mundy who is a guide for them. Had a wicked hangover and also snapped a rod. But what an amazing day. I can't wait to do it again!

I’m not well versed in fly fishing but is it common to fly fish for Marlin😂
Yes! There are different ways to do it. One of them is to use teasers, which bring the fish in and then you throw a fly at the fish. Another one is to chum with bait, and that’s when you have the Captain throw out bait and then you throw your fly as the fish is eating the chum bait, and then there is this way. You find the bait balls, and then cast towards the feeding fish and hope they eat your fly. This place is probably one of the best spots to get a shot at a marlin on the fly.
