I'm Jamie from the USA. I'm a creative person who likes to make and explore things. This channel is mostly where I will be vlogging about my own reviews or explorations with fandoms, making music video tributes or doing cosplay things. Honestly, it's just going to be a variety of creative things I'm passionate about.
I started the "History of Doctor Who" videos as a way to help introduce others to the world of Doctor Who, especially with the Classic Era that isn't that well known.

The Master || King of the World

I've been working on this for months now and it's been in my drafts. I was gonna leave it unfinished, but I decided to just get it done and over with. I came across this song and it reminded me of the Master, so I had to make this. Song: King of the World by WARHALL Character: The Master (Delgado, Ainley, Simm & Dhawan) from Doctor Who

SPOILERS FOR THE SHOW, BEWARE! This is a tribute I made back in the beginning of 2021 to one of my all-time favorite TV Series. Ever since I heard this song, I knew it fit the show and it's message. So here's to Robin, Marian, the Sheriff, Gisborne and the Gang. In the Heart of England...there lives a legend! LEGENDS NEVER DIE! "𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙚 𝙄'𝙢 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙩..." Welp, I'm sick...again! Hence my radio silence, especially with filming new videos for the channel. Instead, I've decided to spend my time learning how to work Adobe Premiere Pro more, do color corrections and try not to cough up a lung in the process. This song reminded me of Leela, who is called a Savage through the show (and EU material)...

"Did you see the sparks filled with hope? You are not alone, 'Cause someone's out there, sending out flares." A tribute video to the rebel Time Lord who spreads the message of hope throughout the universe, saving planets and helping people. This song just reminded me of the Doctor and I had to make it. I'm back to making music tribute videos. I'll be uploading some of my old ones onto this chan...

History of Doctor Who Companions: Romana's History in Dr. Who!
So far (currently watching john pertwee for first time as he is my least favourite classic doctor), they over used the Master way too much. However my favourite moments are when the Master and the Doctor team up and have to work together.
this is so great. and I love your costume. amazing!!
... Ian Chesterleven!
Many including myself see the man who plays the War Leader in DR. Who the final show for the 2nd Doctor.
Shes one of my favorite companions with Donna, Rose, and Jo Grant! She reminds me of Teri Hatcher's Lois Lane in looks and character. Very beautiful, humanly relatable, smart, and fun!
The original and best Master!
He's my favorite Master, too. Anthony Ainley is a close second and good continuation of Delgado's work! Love your cosplay as well!
Delgado was amazing!
i definitely am enjoying the content and it's fun hearing the excitement :) though i sure hope theres a balancing of the audio levels so it's easier to listen to. theres a lot of imbalance (Especially with the memes. the main audio is a bit hard to hear beside it)
Always remember the Master dressed as a Priest in the Daemons.
Rogers Master was the best.
LOL! @ 2:69 - The expression on Jo Grant's face when she realizes that this was Sgt. Benton's first time inside the TARDIS. Delgado would of made a really good "Ra's al Ghul".
He would have made a great Ra’s Aghul
I think Big Finish could be worried about putting too much emphasis on non-canonical character progression. Not development but progression, such as future incarnations of various Gallifreyans. Progressing time-lords/ladies beyond the broadcast canon could trip over a possible BBC series return of Romana, the Rani and others. There may be contractual restrictions or a friendly agreement there. Personally, I love the possibility of a future doctor teaming up with a current version BEFORE we realize they are the doctor, confirmed only by the eventual regeneration. This was played at with Clara's multiple introductions and River's storyline. Romana is a perfect opportunity for this as by all rights she should have a regeneration or two in the time the Doctor has aged...a thousand years or so? If the BBC wanted to incorporate it, 'Trey' could appear in an enigmatic way (not giving away her identity), perhaps still hostile to or ashamed of a Doctor she remembers as having destroyed Gallifrey. Only slowly do the timelines reconcile with a story that could reintroduce Lalla's II and 'Trey' III. But again, how much contractual flexibility does Big Finish have to set FUTURE canonical events beyond what the BBC have set in place? Still, if there is a way, come on Big Finish....Do It!
Steely eyed Roger Delgado is my favourite thing about Doctor Who! He's magnetic... :) He sadly died in 73 when I was born, along with Tolkien and Bruce Lee, so I try to carry some of their spirits with me.... I love the Master's fiendish gadgets, the gas grenades and masks in Mind of Evil were dead clever. The prison tubes in his TARDIS in Colony in Space were the creations of a hardcore manic. Such a fun adversary.....
Wasn't the master introduced 1st in "the war games" though?
Were the doctor and the master best friends until he looked into the mirror of forever, which did drive him insane. The thing the time lords look into as a child that shows past and future all at once. This is why he never truly does anything to put an end to the master, as he did not choice to be this way and was once a very good person.
I think Gomez worked great as the Master as she retained that hidalgo vibe of the original article
The glamour stills of Peri under the story covers on rotation was a nice touch. BTW, Peri was my first screen crush as a kid! =o
Congrats on reading "The Dark Path". That's some real fandom! I read it back in the day and remember it being a lot of fun. "Face of the Enemy" was also fun and ties into Inferno.
Well, Jamie, you fill me with joy. I've been binge-watching some of your Dr. Who videos, and as an oldie I am loving the love someone younger is showing towards the original series. Thank you for spreading this love around. Also, Delgado was awesome, and it's sad that in any timeline we wouldn't have gotten him past Pertwee's run. Can you imagine Delgado and McCoy trying to out-mastermind each other?
Roger was the absolute best master.Jon Pertwee spoke in his one man show,of how he was killed by an idiot driving a taxi.
I'm so happy to hear of a similar experience with Katy Manning. I met her a few years ago when she signed my mini Tardis. She told me stories of all the converations she had with Jon Pertwee while the two of them were crammed into what was really just a closet...and how she wished she could shrink down to fit inside again (my Tardis is only 18 inches tall).
Peri is *_still_* my favourite companion.
I had to pause the video @6:21 Did you see the bottom of the Tardis? it looks like cardboard.
Delgado may have been the first timelord to carry the name the Master, but the character is clearly modeled around another villain called the War Chief from final story of the 2nd doctor The War Games shown in 1969.
I'll say it again, I killed Adric :-) You can do that sort of thing if you work at the BBC
I must have seen her, I watched from day one - I don't remember her at all.
She is so much better in the new series...
I am the Master. You will obey me!... Classic!
The music to too loud. I think a teleprompter would help 🙂 Very good content. I actually worked on several of the shots you used, only as a VT op though.
you worked on the Dr Who series?
Roger Delgado knew how to act. He could act menacingly without resorting to physical display of violence.
The original and in my humble opinion still the best incarnation of the master. No one was as menacing as Roger...
I agree Roger Delgado is the one and only Master,
Mim and Sims are my favourite s
I had such a crush on Nicola Bryant when I was a teenager.
❤❤❤
I say Jamie have you ever seen sci-fi series, Blake,s Seven from the late 70s to early 80s and it is awesome to see and react to if you have not ever seen Blake,s Seven.
He did Comedy in the 1960s. Two examples are his roles in the 1966 film, `The Sandwich Man` and a 1968 episode of `Harry` one of the Harry Worth series.
Firstly, let me say how much I loved seeing that my favorite Master was being given some affection. Then, let me gently point out that your pronunciation of several words was incorrect. Suave is pronounced swav not swavey, etc. That was really the only mar on your otherwise excellent video. Giving words a quick google to check pronunciation is what I do when I'm not certain. Also - Jon Pertwee and he were best friends in real life and Jon got Roger the job of the Master.
He was so perfectly cast. Such a shame that modern era just aimed to make the characters like Mr Mxyzptlk crossed with the Joker...
Roger Delgado was a legend no master has come close to him. No one has bettered him Feel only Sasha Dawson had been the only one capturing his brilliance.just to mention think I’m one of the new comics they mentioned how he had been burned and how he become a decayed master.
Loving your female Master hair and outfit! A real homage to the Delgado look!
Interesting 🤔
I would have loved to see The Final Game produced. It would have been so awesome 😃 Romana is one of the greatest! Had a crush on Romana II for the longest time
What a great summary of the late great roger Delgado. Good job. You can really see your passion for the master
Often Imitated, never duplicated. Roger was the standard by which all versions of the Master are measured. Still my fave even after almost 60 years.
Thank you so very much, and kudos on your Delgado Mistress. Love it, Delgado was one of a kind, you embody his spirit. I could well imagine you uttering his most famous line from Terror of the Autons. Delgado would have a deliciously wicked smile at your homage to him. Thank you again
To be fair. The “Missy” incarnation was fun.. liked the chemistry based on the “history?” Also. My wife told me she had head teacher known to her as “the master.” Freaked her out a little at the time.. regarding this era of Doctor Who.
Ah I love Missy x 😈
Still the best Master.
