DIY Pull Up Bar - Cheap and easy project for under $25
Переглядів 24 тис.4 роки тому
Due to gyms not working I decided to make a build a Pull Up Bar in my hallway. The only prerequisite I had was the bar to be removable, I spend good 2 hours in the hardware store looking for things I can use to build it. As I mentioned, this can also be installed on corner walls, just have in mind the angle you need to cut the metal pieces to be able to fit.

    I'm not saying you are wrong but, this test is incomplete. You verified the capacity. However you didn't verified the 20A load for a period of time which is really important for an ebike or any electric vehicle. From just looking at it the AliExpress one is certainly not original just a copy. Although if it can discharge 10A for example for a period of time without getting too hot it most likely a good copy. But you didn't check. There are many copies now that have the capacity rated but they suck on high current loads. There is a problem if you need high current draw for periods of time. If you don't the copies are fine. The real issue is that it is dangerous because your ebike may catch fire if you using it to the max.

    Awesome video. The big question is: how does the stepper know where the shade is if the controller looses power and then gets it back?

    • @thediyed
      @thediyed Рік тому

      It will be very unlikely for power lose to occur on a regular base. But what did happen few times was Arduino crashing and rebooting. If you have watched my concrete lamp build, I have improved on this by writing the current steps in the memory. So even in case of power lose or reboot the stepper would always know where it is. I am implementing the same thing on my second smart blind build. As I am testing it now, when I will be happy with the code I will update it for this project too. Thanks for watching!

    I think the concept is really cool and it's extremely eye-catching. I saw a comment below that mentioned adding a spiral motion like that of a screw. I second that recommendation I think that would add to the elegance. I personally love critique I think what you've made is awesome take this next suggestion as a suggestion 🙂. I found the inconsistency in the concrete sphere distracted me a little bit. I totally understand that pouring concrete is extremely difficult and I can't claim to be an expert. I think if you make a second edition if you can get the spheres to be more uniform, especially if you decide to implement the spiral motion, it will increase the allure. If getting perfect spheres is too difficult to acquire then I'd suggest sticking with the linear motion without spiral and leaning into the rough cutt features of the concrete by making it look like a stone 🪨 cracking in half.

    • @thediyed
      @thediyed Рік тому

      Thanks! I agree with most what you say. Not sure about spiral motion. That actually would be easier to do. The only way I personally can Imagine a spiral motion to be more interesting is if the bottom and top will spin while opening. Atm I am working on a another concrete lamp, but this one doesn’t have moving parts. It’s mostly interactive and it looks like an art peace. Hopefully a vid will come in the following months.

    Try using clear 100% silicone caulk. Same as for sealing around a sink in a kitchen or bathroom. Use a small paint brush and apply it in thin coats and let it fully cure. That will also make it easier to remove than epoxy.
