Doe Harvest Goes Terribly Wrong

Got ourselves and Indiana Public Land Doe! This is technically my first Indiana Public Land Doe. I was not able to celebrate like I would have liked. This harvest in particular was pretty odd. It appeared to be a perfect shot and deer go down within 60yrds, but little did I know the deer was only bedded. They are incredibly tough creatures! Thanks for watching! Took my 11 year old Daughter out for her first every youth deer hunt. We were also lucky enough for her to harvest a little button buck. No kill shot. I’m thinking about buying that one. How do you know where to set the temp for lots of smoke? It does not have a p setting like the other ones do.
I use 150 seems to do the best there
Good video man. Are you still one sticking? If so, anything you would change or do different if ordering a new setup today? I’m about to get into it.
Yeah I still one stick. I still use the same stick on every hunt. Works great.
Just a suggestion. To help eliminate slack skip the lineman’s and use it as a 2nd tether, take out slack as climb, when you reach your move point leave tether on and attach 2nd tether as high as you can reach then unhook and stow original tether until next move..
I’m just curious, do the instructions warn of electrical shock when wet? I bought an Ororo heated vest that does, they say not to use it if it gets wet. Well when you hunt in the Pacific Northwest rainforests, it’s darn near impossible for it not to get wet,,,
No it does not. I do know its washable. I think you would need to be soaked to get shocked. At that point im either not going or wearing a poncho.
I use it next to my base layer over a rain jacket on those days. Keeps you warm and dry
@zandy9984 i wear mine just over my base layer and under my jacket. Keeps me very warm.
Is that the 500 cu in or the 1000cu in?
Its like 1600 I believe
bro its been charging 2 hours and the charge is still on 1 blue dot
Make sure your using a fast charge brick
Why do you have 40Ft of rope?
Lets me climb to 30ish feet if I would like
Awesome job young lady. Congratulations!
She was very excited
Great video! Thanks for the covering the backup options.
Thanks for watching! Stay safe and good luck.
Doing my burn off and noticed something. Is it common for smoke to be coming out around the glass on the front door? Not around the seal where the door shuts, but the glass on the door.
That seems kinda odd
@TheHunter46176 gave pitboss a call about it. They said that's normal, the seal isn't supposed to be air tight there. It's supposed to let some air escape to prevent the glass from breaking.
@Kizikx mine leaks from the door seal a little bit. Id say as long as its not like bellowing out you should be ok.
Thank you for sharing!
Of course! Full video coming pretty soon too.
What saddle u in there brother ?
@@michaelconley6245 that was a trophyline venatic
Just wondering what make and model is that saddle
@@TheHunter46176 ok got it
You're so chill
Do they heat only the upper part that is before the plastic parts? The bottom stays cold?
@@irynamaslan4948 the flat part does not heat
Yes but the plastic sides can attach to each other magnetically so you have heat on two sides
Thanks
Welcome
Thank you for the informative video.
You are welcome
what did you call that a Flexi ohm?
Yes from innovatingtheoutdoors.com
Good video! Thank you for sharing.
Thing gets jammed shut sometimes. Quick way to just pop it loose.
Where are these? I can’t find one anywhere
@@Whitetailtracker TK Antzak was the owner I believe they are no longer making saddles. Hit him up on facebook. He may be able to tell you more.
How long did it take to come in ?
4 weeks or so. I think they say 4-6 weeks. Its a smaller company but Dano and Hunter are awesome.
keep warm in cold weather! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing! As you mentioned, keeping hands warm is indeed crucial, and we hope our Heated Muff can be helpful for hunters!

Been looking at these
They are really nice!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you very much!
The fellers who do that down here are known as deceased
They recommend orange so you don't get shot. I don't think a deer costume is on the list.😮
Right, hopefully you don't get shot.Cause that is a realistic deer costume. You should Is blend right in
Maybe should have worn some orange 🤣🤣🤣
To hide from a deer you must because the deer😂
Lol yep. We must be one with them. Lol
Awesome video. I've been watching a bunch . I decided to go with a 1 stick saddle method for next season. This helped big time. Thank you 😊 🙏. Good luck and safe climbing.
It just makes sense once you get it down. Why carry 4 sticks? I only need one lol. Good luck!
Great vid man. Preciate it
Thanks for watching!
I was exiled from 300 acres of prime private property in Stueben County this year due to family drama. I harvested a doe on public for the first time in about 10 years this season. Gotta give credit to the guys who find success on public land. Its tough. Willing to give any hints on what public land youre hunting? Wondering if youre hunting forest or reservoir. Thanks either way. Good luck this season.
Thanks for watching, and congrats! Keep at it. I hunted private only for about my first 5-6 seasons. I hunts lots of different properties. Heading back to KY end of next week.
Looked like a good blood trail to me! Still can't believe she was still alive after being hit in that area! Them suckers are tough!
The angle of the shot was so steep it was in the armpit and out the chest. a little more straight on and it would have been different I think.
congratulations !😁😁3 minutes where the tools you use are fun! Is it to attract animals? For four minutes, the forest here looks like a scene from Twilight
Something about that spot man I just love it.
Got lots of deer in there
How you climbing tree?
I one stick
@@TheHunter46176 for sure, do you climb in the dark it wait for first light?
@benclark5373 yeah. I use s headlamp on red or green but yeah.
Congrats man maybe you should hire a camera man 😂
One of these days......Maybe lol.
I'm Always looking forward to you updating "The I'm Always looking forward to you updating "The Hunter"Series viedo! This video reminds me of a Mayan hunter movie I saw,Clever and brave😁😁
It was a fun weekend and hunt. I think your in the better spot now lol
We will see 🤘🏼
The title said something about hunting. All I saw was a guy in a tree stand ambushing
I get busted on the ground every single time. Im not as slick as our ancestors once were thats for sure.
@@TheHunter46176 just busting your chops, man, I hunt on the ground walking around and scare nine out of 10 and I mess up while I’m in a stand all the time lol, got back into hunting taking about 15 years off since my 20s those deer don’t know what’s about to hit/miss them lol
@Camorockers. Im on a beautiful oak ridge at the moment about 30ft up lol.
@@TheHunter46176 30 feet you up there hunting monkeys, lol
Sorry that you missed that deer what broadheads are you using with that crossbow ?
G5 montec
Heck shot my first deer of the season looking up at me fooling around with my arrow that the knock came off when I drew the bow back the deer let me get the arrow back together and let me draw the bow back while looking at me lol
I was surprised how much those deer tolerated. They knew I was there and wanted a closer look, but I was not able to move. They both turned their head and I figured its now or never. When I grunted that deer stopped dead broadside at 35yrd. For some reason I thought it was at 50.
I've hunted on the ground since I began bohunting. This is my 48th season. It can be exhilarating one moment and frustrating the next. The more experienced you get from hunting on the ground, the more confident you will become if you need to set up at ground level. Have a fun season, and good luck.
48 seasons? Wow! Thats pretty cool. I was in a bad setup and knew it from the get go. It was a quick after work hunt. I figured screw it lets see what happens. If I wouldnt have over estimated my shot I would have nailed that doe. I grunted and it locked up perfect broadside.
@TheHunter46176 at least you are willing to adjust based on your situation. That is a big plus, and I could tell you learned something from the hunt. You have to learn how to blend in the best you can. Keep after them it will happen.
@EdwardHans-eb2xx sure did! Have you ever used a leafy suit?
@TheHunter46176 No, I haven't. Was always concerned about string interference. But have friends that have.
@EdwardHans-eb2xx Im gonna try one some day
i use a bog deathgrip tripod from ground hunting with a firearm or crossgun. Makes it super easy when you have the weapon in the ready position.
Yeah I saw Death By Bungie use once one. 100% need one for my Daughter.
@@TheHunter46176 yup my youth hunters are 8/8 with it, 2/2 this last weekend here in NY
Found oaks that are being tore up yesterday when scouting, but could not find a tree to climb. Going in this afternoon on the ground. That is an up close and personal view of a deer, got to love the thrill.
It sure does get the ol heart pumping lol
Great footage! Always tricky from the ground. Good luck the rest of the season, we'll be following along with the hunts!
Vaca starts monday and goes to Nov 5th. Im gonna be hitting it hard.
Bro gonna have a heart attack lmao 🤣. Keep up the grind💪🤘
