Welcome! My name is Fisher.
I am a fly fishing guide based in Portland, Oregon. My email is: fisherflyfishing1@gmail.com
Please reach out with any questions about scheduling, pricing, options, etc. I look forward to hearing from you!
On my channel you can expect to tag along with my personal fishing. The videos I enjoy, are of folks who know their stuff, showing how to get it done on the water; not just highlight reels. I also enjoy content that shows the character of the creator. Those two things are what I aspire to here. I fish every week so new adventures come out every Monday.
I also believe in accessibility to the outdoors. I will try to explain things as I go, so that everybody from the total novice to the expert has a place here. Anybody can catch big fish and post the videos on UA-cam. I have more of myself to offer than that. Please enjoy!
Feedback is always welcome.

Twenty Inch Trout Double Up!! Sublime Desert Fly Fishing!
That first fish was a rainbow with cutthroat slashes. Some rainbows have orange slashes.
What makes you think so?
@@Fisher_Munro The shape and size of the spots
You'll have to give me more than that. I've caught a ton of these fish and to my eye, that's a cutthroat. The way the spots extend from the back almost all the way to the belly looks cutty to me. I have caught many many bows with throat slashes. That is not a distinguishing feature. But this fish just has the body of a cutt IMO. I look at tons of fish every week, and it just rings the cutthroat bell in my head. Obviously, this is a juvenile fish, with par markings; that makes it much harder. But I have the advantage of having gotten a good look at the bigger fish I caught from the log jam. And that one was very distinctly a cutthroat. Which also makes me tend towards cutthroat for this one.
Badass
When I learned to read the water my catch rate went through the roof!
@matstaley388 nice! Reading water is fishing IMO. Doesn't matter how good your technique is if your not fishing on fish!
@@Fisher_Munro Hit me up if you ever come to Bend. There's some great water here.
@@matstaley388 I will make sure to do that! Thank you!
Awesome vids! I saw that sometimes you use a euro nymph setup and sometimes you have an indicator- curious when do you decide to use an indicator?
Great question! I love throwing an indicator on my euro set up. Generally if I need to fish farther away from myself the indicator is much easier. It's also good for deeper/slower water. I keep it in easy reach and I swap the indicator on and off all the time. Faster, rockier water? Definitely sticking to the euro set up.
the bruise was good but the toenail was horrible
Are you even using a fly line or just mono?
@Damdochax there is fly line on there, but I like to keep my leader long enough that I don't ever have to deal with the fly line
love the honesty, and I agree it adds to the viewing experience. nice vid fisher :3 <3
@@josiejodosiedoe thank you my friend! I appreciate the feedback!
What area of the rogue do you go to. I’m in the Medford area. I live about 12 minutes from the River. Always looking for new people to hit the water with shoot me a comment or email if you want to meet up and swing some Flies.
Man I would love to, but I live in Portland. I haven't fished the Rogue hardly at all. I guide it as a white water rafting guide, and I don't have much time to fish while I'm on the clock. But we raft from Almeida to Foster Bar so that's the stretch I've laid eyes on. Good luck to you fishing out there! I hope it's been good this season? I tore my Achilles tendon about 2 months ago so I haven't not been able to get out for myself.
what a beautiful spot!!! <3 nice fishing as always
I know where you are! So I lost a 4 to 5 pound rainbow last summer and landed a 10 pound Bull trout!! Indeed! There are big rainbows because of the fires and the closed campgrounds for 3 years!! The trout I spoke of were right off the main road surprisingly otherwise you gotta hike!! Great Job! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
NICE! I've got 4 steelhead on the fly but not there. Got a few there on the Cleo including smallmouth where that road ends driving.north. Surprised you didn't hook one. Great Job. Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
@@allengray5748 thank you my man!
well done sir
what is the name of the lake?
@Kalenechenko unfortunately this isn't a location that I'm willing to give out online. I'm happy to name well-known fisheries like the Deschutes. But a spot like this doesn't see very many anglers in a year and probably can't handle very high pressure. That said, in the Cascades, there are hundreds if not thousands of lakes. The Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area alone boasts over 600. I find lakes by purchasing a map/maps of an area I'm interested in, and looking for them. Best method I know of. Not many folks out there will be willing to share the names of good fishing mountain lakes they know. But so much of the fun of alpine fishing is in the hiking, exploration, and discovery of something unknown that feels like it's all your own. I highly encourage you to start finding some of these places. If you have a general region of Washington you're interested in I might be able to point you in some directions?
GORGEOUS!! how special :”-) 💓

Nice fish!
Pike minnows eat salmon, trout and steelhead eggs best to remove them from our waters
@kerryguidry9457 yeah there are good arguments for killing them. But the way I see it, they are a native fish with just as much right to be there as any other. And more important to my decision making than that, when I've killed them in the past I've felt bad about it, so I don't kill them anymore.
YOO this is awesome, you should make more of these!!
@@josiejodosiedoe I will! And I already have several others out!

Thank u can you tell me which river?
@song4993 my apologies but I don't usually give out the names of rivers I'm on. Good luck finding some water though! And say hi if you ever see me out there!
Is there a specific reason you prefer to fish for trout mostly instead of salmon?
Good question! Are you a salmon fisherman yourself? I think I do find myself drawn to trout most. And sometimes I wonder why. In part it's cause trout is what I grew up on. Nobody ever took me salmon fishing. I didn't have a way to go. But I could bike to the local creeks and catch trout. I also find trout fishing to be more engaging than salmon fishing. It demands very fine gradations of reading water. And I love reading water. Not that salmon fishing doesn't but it's on a different scale. Trout fishing is also more engaging cause you catch more fish. Trout are easier. Keeps it fun. And you cover so much water. I really enjoy seeing a lot of water and adventuring over the terrain. Salmon fishing is much slower. My favorite fish are probably summer steelhead cause they split the difference. They eat more aggressively, like trout, but they are still big. I dunno, I do love trout though.
Happy to see another fishing video. I always enjoy your videos.
@fightthefishpnw5455 thank you very much! I fell behind on editing cause I was so busy this summer. But I have tons of content filmed. And I am currently bed ridden due to a surgery, so it's editing time!
