Music Careers: Music Lecturer -Sam Nicholls
I worked with a guy called Phil smith a lecturer at Leeds music university we wrote my wedding song together
The guy who wrote the music to Lazy Jones... a legend.
The composer of C64 Bravestarr music? Trantor?
his music in battlecars snes, sounded like electrified dumpsters smashing into each other.
Thanks for this Choque, as the above comment says you have a lot to be proud of with BSL!
Black Star Liner is pretty great album IMO, don't say you were rubbish!
Glider Rider!
When I was a child, I played it repeatedly without playing the game!
I know what some of you are thinking, and NO, it's not him haha.
David Whittaker, prolific on Amiga, but not necessarily for good reasons. Loved his music for Shadow of the Beast, loved Speedball as well.....sadly, didnt like nor appreciate him using virtually the same samples he used in Speedball and Xenon in over 20+ bits of music and they all kind of sounded like variations on other pieces he had done on Amiga. Most of his music seemed to follow the same footprint. Play a repetitive section for 20 seconds, change it slightly and play that for another 20 seconds, change slightly again and repeat over and over. Whilst David was highly regarded on c64, there is a reason he got less and less work on Amiga, because he had been surpassed by musicians that were not "phoning it in" like he was doing. He was instrumental in being around the Bitmap Brothers and Psygnosis in the early days, but got replaced. Will always be thankful for Beast, but not the stuff he clearly spent 10minutes knocking up, which sadly was most of his Amiga output.
Just the right bullets mate.
The legendary David Whitaker from the bands Music For Pleasure and The Danse Society.
LEGEND!!!
Lazy Jooooooones!!!
Did he do something for the anime Attack on Titan??
K21 is what brought me here to figure out.
Absolutely appreciate this guys work
Is this person the REAL David Whittaker who composeD shadow of the beast ost?
yes
No this isn't the David Whittaker we knows from the Amiga/C64/ST games in 80/90's ! It's another composer who's working in film music industry ! Not the same guy...and this guy is named David '"Whitaker" and not "Whittaker" !
I bought a guitar from David Whittaker
should be making royalties from the whole rolling stones bittersweet symphony debacle
I’m sure he’s done alright from Kernkraft 400
My idol from the Amiga years! Your game soundtracks are forever etched in my memory. Google them! I hope he does a remaster of his work like Chris Huelsbeck did.
@madmomentsgo he talks about working in the Leeds area, granted there's few pictures of him when he was young but the similarity is kinda there. Maybe he aged poorly.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I have emailed Dave to ask him if it was him or not, help settle your debate with @madmomentsgo . I will let you know what he says. Katie x
@@clothcatgyatmusicsessionsl8735 This is an interview I found on the tube of him back in 2001. The similarities are kinda there: ua-cam.com/video/iFH5vS1EqNs/v-deo.html (his interview starts at about 1:50). Then again perhaps you're right and it's a case of mistaken identity, I've found another composer named David Whitaker but he died in 2012...
@@azmodanpc That is defo not our David, I can confirm, sorry! He's very much alive an kicking and runs CZAR studios at Old Chapel Music studios in Leeds.
@@clothcatgyatmusicsessionsl8735 Yup! I was googling the name and another composer popped up. I rewatched the 2001 interview and I'm not sure this David Withaker (not Whittaker) is the same composer of so many memorable Amiga music! Thanks for the updates and perhaps you'll solve this little "mistery" :D
