EGR Delete 3rd gen 4runner 3rz 2rz 2.7 2.4
Переглядів 5 тис.Рік тому
I’m sick of dicking around with the Egr system so decided to just remove it all together. Feel like this is a controversial or debatable topic of whether it’s good or not to do. I’m not here to say it’s good or bad idk. I do know mine wasn’t functioning properly already so I decided to remove it and see what happens.

Easiest way to install new shocks! Pt. 2 (Toyota Tundra) (bilstein 5100)
Переглядів 9 тис.Рік тому
This is an easier way to install new shocks by compressing the coils without the use of a specialty coil compressing spring tool. I used this method on my 3rd gen 4runner that is 2wd so I wanted to test it out on my buddies 4wd tundra to see if the cv axle interfered. Message me on Instagram @baileyboyens

I was thinking about that
I paid 7k for my 95 model with the 3vze and 135k so far.
22ft..?
Idk tbh full size tho I’m pretty sure
I used to have a 86 it was nice but under power 5 speed but good on gas 👍
People are turning these into electric
Your radiator might be going out
Wanting to do this same thing, how long of a job do you think it takes
Only been to solitude once but heading back! What run is this?
Here in europe they are quite expensive. I'd be happy if soneone put some on my truck 😂
4K is cheap, I live in Las Vegas and they’re going for 6,500 and up. And they’re usually pretty beat up and high miles! And if it’s 4wd it’s worth more
@@eddiebello2004 bought mine in like 2015 or so.. different time. It was a great buy back than even
This strut looks almost exactly like the Silverado 2008 through 2014.
Great Video, thanks! This method is far safer that using spring compressors. I did this today on my 97 4runner with TRD progressive front coils and 5100 Bilsteins with 2 1/2" lift. Because of my taller setup I ended up having to remove the lower ball joint from the lower control arm in order to remove the coil. First side took me two hours and the second side took me 30 minutes.
@@-gnbuilders-6233 always takes way longer first side haha. Stoked it worked out for you!!
Just bought a 99 SR5 4X4 with 320K miles for 3K. A little rough, 4x4 not working, leaking all kinds of fluids but somehow runs great. These really are amazing vehicles
1998 SR5 4x4 4runner here. Bought it for 4 grand four years ago in colorado. Had it above eleven thousand feet elevation over a hundred times. 268k miles and runs like a swiss watch. Best fucking car i've ever owned. And when it comes to going off-road in the mountains, the combination of short wheelbase And short bumper to bumper measurement makes it An absolute beast.
Thanks a million
A gem

damn its so weird seeing a 3rd gen without any fender flares, especially the huge Sport/Limited flares lol. Looks naked without them. Such amazing lil trucks tho, very fun to drive.
WARNIG FOR ANYONE WITH BILSTEIN ADJUSTABLE SHOCKS!! I just successfully installed Bilstein 6112’s on my 2000 Tundra 4x4 and this method worked but almost didn’t. The issue was the length. In the instructions it says to set the drivers side to a higher lift setting than the passenger side. Passenger side was a breeze, divers side was almost a little too long uncompressed to use this method. I had to have a second person step on the lower control arm to swing it down far enough for me to get the bottom of the shock bolted in. For my Access Cab model, Bilstein recommended no more than a 1” lift (the shock is capable of 2”) so if a person disregarded that advice and tried to max it out, it might have been too long for this method to work (on my specific vehicle anyway).
2024, I just bought my 3rd gen last week, 2.7 2WD with 360k miles, super great shape and the interior is damn near perfect, will probably last another 300k if I take care, just like the green one you got, but I was wondering if it’s worth it to lift it and put 33s on it and take it on some light overlanding trails maybe some 4x4 in the mountains or if I should sell it and buy a 4WD, just not sure its worth dumping money into it since I do want to do mostly OEM upgrades
@@Roberto-fo9it just keep it stock. Not worth lifting it. You can take it on trails stock. Bigger tires with the 2.7 is not worth it hahaha
Great video. And narration!
Good video,, good for tacobell owner,, BUT,, does it work on my 2021 f150 ??? try ??
i just got one wit 573k miles no rust it has a replaced engine but shes a unit
Damn that’s wild. They are basically like Lego’s tho. You can just replace parts there are so many available. No rust is the ticket
definitely worth it.. I got a white one 97 sr5 I'm in chicago . only 2 owners I went to look at it dropped to the floor saw the frame rust free I handed the owner the money said il take it!!! it has almost 200k miles .. that's nothing!!! my celica 2002 has 257k miles
Heck ya rust free your basically good to go hahah
Love my 97 i got for 4.5k back in 2014
Is that a 2000 3rd gen? Always thought they switched to only v6 beginning 00 or 01, one of the two.
2000.. I never heard of only 3.4s
@@baileyboyens cool, yea after 2000 they cutoff production for timing chained 4cyl's
@@dmironyuk cool to know. It’s a great engine
This is great! Anyone try it on a Nissan Frontier?
What size bulb to switch it over to amber bulbs for that mod?
Same exact bulb and harness just drilled hole in the back of marker light
you are so right, thanks for the info.
I say you should replace the engine or transmission on the 4cyl because you cannot buy a great car at 5k or 6k nowadays…
Seriously… it’s at 275k running fine
@@baileyboyens it’s like how the saying goes I know what I got but you never know when you buy someone else’s car

This is what i need. Ive been without a front signal for toooooo long
Been working for years 🤷🏻♂️
Have a 96 with 415k on it. All original and no big issues yet.
That’s awesome .. 275k and climbing here!
The fact they put a lock on it is nuts😂 how’d you get it off?
Now for the back😂😂😂
Loved that!!! Thanks. Just turned 67 & can't really ski it like I could in the past. Loved feeling that RUSH again!! Thanks so much!! More posts like that, please!!! I can ski vicariously thru these pics!!! ❤❤❤😅😅😅

bilstein 6112's don't work this way
Thanks for letting us know. Are they just bigger or what
That’s only 50% correct. I just installed Bilstein 6112’s on my 2000 Tundra 4x4 and this method worked but almost didn’t. The issue was the length. P0401 replaced EGR without diagnosis ck eng came back. Replaced coolant thermostat as in the past generated ck eng after replaced fixed. That was 3 year ago. I noticed on the throudle body one out of 3 tubes that connects to the vacuum modulator is plugged the right end vac tube so I wonder if supposed to be unrestricted and causing ck engine. I purchased the vacuum solenoid and plan to replaced it even if I don't have code P0402. Oh I also will replace the PCV valve. All started motor shaking cylinder 1 miss fire. Replaced 4 injectors shaking stopped. Ck eng came cylinder 1 missfired Coil 1 replaced fixed. Now ck eng still coming after egr thermostat radiator.
