Scuba diving Medhufaru, one of the most accessible ship wrecks in Colombo. Most times a relaxing dive, with a splendid sight of a nice cargo ship. At this dive site we are always welcomed by friendly bat fish, sting rays at the sandy bottom and schools of fusiliers at the bow….

The Wallet Wreck with Island Scuba

Around 1.5 to 2 hours from our dive center this unknown wreck of what appears to be a barge sits at a depth of 40m. The wreck is small but covered in soft coral and teeming with small fish. The Chief Dragon is a massive car transport ship that sank in 1983. Parts of the cars are still visible on the decks although like much of the wreck are overgrown with hard and soft coral. The wreck of an unknown barge near Taprobane East reef off Colombo. Schooling goatfish, stingrays and a resident napolean wrasse are the highlights of this small yet colorful wreck covered in soft coral.
