Made/filmed most of this at night, just relaxing. It was just nice to play at first, but I pieced them all together and liked how it sounded. Fun solo to play, I'm actually using my Roland microbe amp crunch setting, I've got a direct in from the back of the amp to my laptop and garage band. I've then put that through what would be a Marshall amp sim, I wouldn't normally use this for recording but it sounds pretty good to me haha so why not. Instrumental jam between me and my old pal Joe Stothard, we had just been listening to Aphex Twin's Alberto Balsalm so I think we were trying to approximate that at the start. Tried to get more of the feel of this rather than going for exact note for note, after a stressful week playing this has been the tonic/remedy I've needed. To try and capture the tone Ry has on this song I've used Epiphone ES 335 that has split humbuckers. The Bridge pickup is split to single coil and the Neck is the Humbucker, and I'm in the middle position to try to emulate Ry's Coodercaster ...

What pickups are this guitar? They sound great. Your playing and phrasing is spot on 👍
They're humbuckers with an option to split the coils. It's my cousins guitar, so I'm not sure about specific pickups. But it's only a cheap 335s Epiphone....around £350. Remember I'm in the middle position with the neck on humbucker and the bridge split to single coil. But thanks for the kind words. That film is sorta burnt into my memory, know melody very well ha

What effects might you be using sounds so sweet and great slide playing
I'd check the description. Remember noting it down in there, but I think there's a tight room/plate reverb, a spring reverb and tremolo effects wise. Hope that helps

This is excellent. Marr also described doing something by hitting the strings with a knife ( I assume the back, non-sharp side). He didn't fully elaborate on it, but it sounded like it was a bit of randomness and dynamics.
I didn't tune to an open tuning. But I did hit a chord, let it ring out. Then put a backwards effect on it. I've got it going on throughout the song but mix it in at the end of verses and choruses I think. Can't remember now haha but yeah, wasn't willing to drop an item on my guitars from a height haha
