I bought one of these for £2.08 on sale, really looking forward to trying it out for myself... The strange thing is I'm interested in a lot of these copies despite the fact I already own 22 G Shocks of all my varying favourites!

Casio had created the psychological value of that particular design into consumer's mind through marketing strategies. Without the original model, you would most probably not pick up the SKMEI unit, which is clearly a copy of the original Casio G-Shock.

60-70% of it is made in Germany, the strap and bezel, the module is made in Thailand, non of it is made in China

I agree that the G-Shock got features that most users don't use. Getting a cheaper G-Shock look-a-like is more value for money. And at the same price of a G-Shock that don't look that good in my book, I can get an elegant and better looking Edifice. I recently got the HDC-700 and the Edifice ECB-950DB.

Ive stopped buying Casio because since Covid, they doubled and tripled prices in UK. So I stopped and have just now started buying Skmei knockoffs

I now see g shocks as a waste of money because you can even get tough solar version of this watch excellent. I think now thousands of people who have g shocks 1 don't know why,2 just for show,3 none of the functions are ever used.

I have a couple of SKMEI watches. Before owning them I would see them on ebay and Aliexpress etc, and completely write them off as cheap junk. They really aren't junk at all. They're very good quality watches and much better value than Casio, who sell great but some very - but not all - overpriced watches.

How ever they do have much better led lights.

Also no real shock resistant on skmemi,smeal watches.

Skmei watches don't have tough solar,200mtrs water resistant atomic time like the superb Casio's do??.

I like the "Steeldive" folks for that they are real enthusiasts of the historical watches. They give big attention for the details and make really beautiful things.

Yeah i wish they also illuminate logo or marker in the outher casing to so you knew the watch orientation right away even in the dark.

Don't belive the fake hype. I bought this from amazon for €16 for a hiking holiday as I was worried about losing my GW-M5610u-1ber. After 2 weeks of normal use, the display was badly scratched and after 9 days the light didn't work anymore, one gentle swim in the lake.. blub blub blub. RIP. Also, the negative dispaly is really hard to read compared to casio negative dispalys. You need to have it in the right angle with the right light to see it clearly. Looks good for a short while but then you'll realise it is a polished turd. It's fine as "insurance" if you're on holiday and are worried about having your nice watch lost/damaged/stolen. But don't kid yourself that this can replace a G-Shock as daily driver.
