Thanks! She's also elderly (almost 14) and has come to terms with the fact that she can no longer chase a critter like a deer very far anyway. 😃

​​@@agoodspotheadscratcher lol yep she knows she's an old lady and not going to get it but at the same time too that's very sad that she knows that she can't do that anymore I hope that you have her for a lot longer than 14 but with Labs you never know. But last time I checked the pets are supposed to live forever they're not supposed to leave us. I keep telling my two cats which are literally My two children they are going to live forever so your dog is going to live forever. Now can I ask you did you ever use her for hunting when she was younger? And I don't know what diet you have her on before a senior dog she is in fantastical shape. Even though we keep telling them to live forever is what I was trying to say before I hope you at least have a good 5/6 more years with her. What is her name again? Sorry I'm new to your channel.

@@carolinemorgan94 Thanks for your interest! Ande is her name (short for Andromache) and she is in pretty darn good shape, except that she's developed LarPar in the last year. She's been a house dog since I got her from the humane society when she was about 6 mos. They told me she was born in a humane society in Missouri and is mixed with something other than black lab, but we don't know what. She's never been trained for hunting, but she did catch a squirrel or two in her younger days. She used to run SO FAST! I agree, they should live forever! Your cats are lucky to have you as their mom.

@@agoodspotheadscratcher her name is gorgeous and I'm so sad that she's diagnosed with that that's must be pretty hard and a good squirrel hunter is all we need in this life. I just thought that since you were a hunter that you have gotten her to be a hunter dog with you. And thank you for that yeah they are the cats are a lot different than dogs if you don't know they're a lot like having human toddlers in the sense that they don't really listen like dogs obey their humans and obey their humans cats not so much they pick and choose when they want to listen to you or not so they are very very lucky that I am their mommy because they are too darn cute to be kicked out yet LOL 😂😂. I agree, the box didn't mean to be ironic, but it was. Since the chickens get the whole back yard to run around during the day, the coop is for sleeping and laying eggs and maybe they think it's luxurious.

I've seen squirrels do this so many times, too, sometimes to digest a big meal.

There is water nearby--just off camera. He was taking a quick break to cool down on the driveway, which was cooler than the air.
