That's just lighting. What about when it doesn't stay lit?
@YLesaMarieJ4F it could be a filter issue if yours needs one or it could be the line is clogged. May need to try blowing it out with some air.
Please HELP my Qtip head FELL OFF INSIDE that area & STILL WON'T LIGHT 1wk later😢
@Triple_Moon_Goddess will have to probable take that line off and blow it out.
There is nothing new in the world. I have been using this method for marking stair strings for 50 years.
I almost bought another one ..this worked great thank you.

Thanks man, this worked for me. Mine was sitting in the basement over the summer
@simeonhappel5182 glad it worked. Thanks for watching please like and subscribe!!
Great video. Please remake it without the background music. Or make the background music waaaaaay lower.
*But what about the width! I need to make mines steep since it's a mini house stairway*
@Predator-90 then on the run where I made mine 10 inches just make that smaller. The smaller it is the steeper they will be.
Thank you so much, this fixed my portable buddy!
@juliamanfredini7265 Glad it worked thanks for watching please like and subscribe!!
Mine is brand new and the qtip didn't work. I wish I had seen all these problems with mr heater before I bought mine. It is going back today. Second trip to the store to address a problem with this heater. I wish I knew the brand of the old camping heater I used decades ago. I never had a problem. I see these mr heater products all over and wrongly assumed they must be good
Thank you so much I was just getting ready to order another one
@margaretwicks3772 Glad it helped thanks for watching please like and subscribe!!
Alas, this did not work for me and I had such high hopes for it. The Buddy would not do anything more than spark with a 1 pound bottle or hooked to a 20 pound tank.
I rented a professional underground locator, well worth it, easy to use. I located water lines and gas li es and one storm drain
You measure down 7 inches for your board mark so do you have 2 x 7 board you are using my husband and I are so confused on some of this as we’re not real carpenters we are using two by 12s so we figured we need five stairs because we’re doing 5 inch rise but my husband is confused on the part that attaches to the deck. How do you know to get that cut and your board was already marked with the triangle on it so we didn’t understand how you got the triangle cause you didn’t show the bottom mark on your triangle. You just sold 7 inch to 10 inch and then go straight down from the 10 inch to the bottom of the boardbut how do you do it with a 2 x 12 can you please explain
@patrinacoverdell5861 ok I was using a 2x12 as well. The beginning of the video I show what length to make each of the sides on the triangle depending on how tall your rise is and how long the run is. I am going to attach another I have that may explain it a little better.

Thank You!!!
I was with you up until you said the run will be 10 inches. How did you come up with 10 inches? You never mentioned that in your opening statements. Is that a standard measurement for the depth of a stair tread? Also, how was it determined where on the board to start tracing out the first stringer? Looks like you just arbitrarily chose, what, 4, 6, 7 inches? Thank you.
@KRColson I had the room to make the run 10 inches. The bigger the number the further from the landing you will end up. I chose 10 because I was using 2 decking boards as my treads. If I made it 10 inches then that would give me a 1 inch overhang using the 2 decking boards. That is where that came from. Also I started cutting wherever just as long as I could get 2 stringers out of that board.
I purchased a Buddy heater had a markdown Amazon store for $6.00 couldn't get it to light tried what you did solve the problem immediately. Thank you for the helpful hint
@JoseChavez-o1l Glad it was a help! Thanks for watching like and subscribe!!
This didn't fix mine.i don't know what else to do. Full tanks.
@oldblackstock2499 is it sparking when you try to start it. If not it could be the ignitor.
It works better if you staple to the studs and create an air pocket, otherwise is is conducting heat and you are losing most of the benefits
@@Gaterstoo it has an air gap in it
Cutting with a circular saw its normally wise to stand to the left and let the right drop
A true test would be to put the insulated sheet outside in the sun just like the roof and then take a reading of the insulated sheet.... And then compare
Thank you! I fixed mine thanks to you
@MattPilon97 Glad to hear thanks for watching please like and subscribe!!
After not using mine for a couple of years I tried it and the problem was exactly what this video shows. I followed the remedy step by step and it worked great.
@frankrice9897 Glad it worked!! Thanks for watching like and subscribe.
Problematic! What counts here is the time it takes for the foil to heat up to the temp of the outside roof. As soon as this has been reached (and this will be relatively fast with thin foil) heat will go in! Or come out. So important here too is the time that process takes and thats why in my country usually very thick insulation is used, up too 15 inches where possible. But sure, even a thin foil is better than nothing.
Just picked up one from Tractor supply stays lit on pilot then goes out on low or high settings…
It worked! Thank you!
@RopingSurfer1 I'm glad it worked thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe!!
For those insisting that 811 will take care of this. This is what I got directly from the local 811 "Any electrical lines past your meter are owned by you, and is your responsibility. These may include power lines running to barns, garages, outdoor lighting, or from your transformer (green box or pedestal) to your home or business. We can only mark up to a meter of underground line if your meter is on a pedestal, and not on your house."
@NaturebyGus exactly that is why I had to do this thanks for the post clarifying that.
THANKS!!! 👍👍👍 This works!!! I've been trying for days to get mine going, and this was all it took!!! My little buddy is working like new!!!
@BlitzenSpeaks I am glad to hear. Sometimes it is something so simple to get something going. Thanks for watching!!
Running late I'll be doing it
Hi, what is the distance between the transmitter and the point where you drilled the hole ?
@gltubes I just had it right above the ground like 3 or 4 inches. As I went back and forth to find the wire.
@@projectdiy873 Hello and thank you for your answer. 3 or 4 inches is the distance between the receiver and the pipe, I was asking about the distance between the transmitter or signal injector connected to the main box and the point where you made the digging. I suppose it is many meters ...
@gltubes oh sorry yes probably about 30 or 40 yards
@@projectdiy873 I had no idea that such an inexpensive device could work over such great distances and perform so well. Thanks again for the video.
