    You measure down 7 inches for your board mark so do you have 2 x 7 board you are using my husband and I are so confused on some of this as we’re not real carpenters we are using two by 12s so we figured we need five stairs because we’re doing 5 inch rise but my husband is confused on the part that attaches to the deck. How do you know to get that cut and your board was already marked with the triangle on it so we didn’t understand how you got the triangle cause you didn’t show the bottom mark on your triangle. You just sold 7 inch to 10 inch and then go straight down from the 10 inch to the bottom of the boardbut how do you do it with a 2 x 12 can you please explain

    • @projectdiy873
      @projectdiy873 9 днів тому

      @patrinacoverdell5861 ok I was using a 2x12 as well. The beginning of the video I show what length to make each of the sides on the triangle depending on how tall your rise is and how long the run is. I am going to attach another I have that may explain it a little better.

    I was with you up until you said the run will be 10 inches. How did you come up with 10 inches? You never mentioned that in your opening statements. Is that a standard measurement for the depth of a stair tread? Also, how was it determined where on the board to start tracing out the first stringer? Looks like you just arbitrarily chose, what, 4, 6, 7 inches? Thank you.

    • @projectdiy873
      @projectdiy873 21 день тому

      @KRColson I had the room to make the run 10 inches. The bigger the number the further from the landing you will end up. I chose 10 because I was using 2 decking boards as my treads. If I made it 10 inches then that would give me a 1 inch overhang using the 2 decking boards. That is where that came from. Also I started cutting wherever just as long as I could get 2 stringers out of that board.

    Problematic! What counts here is the time it takes for the foil to heat up to the temp of the outside roof. As soon as this has been reached (and this will be relatively fast with thin foil) heat will go in! Or come out. So important here too is the time that process takes and thats why in my country usually very thick insulation is used, up too 15 inches where possible. But sure, even a thin foil is better than nothing.

    For those insisting that 811 will take care of this. This is what I got directly from the local 811 "Any electrical lines past your meter are owned by you, and is your responsibility. These may include power lines running to barns, garages, outdoor lighting, or from your transformer (green box or pedestal) to your home or business. We can only mark up to a meter of underground line if your meter is on a pedestal, and not on your house."
