Phenomenal!
Breathtaking performance thank you for sharing.
Incredible live recording! Thanks for sharing.
This is what David Oistrakh wrote about Victor Tretyakov in his notebook during Tchaikovsky competition in 1966: ""First tour. ...Perhaps this is the most attractive and sincere talent that I have ever met among us. ...Second round. ...Unless a miracle happens, the first prize is in his hands. ... Third round. …Plays brightly, enthusiastically, with great skill. He has excellent self-control. …There is no doubt that his Tchaikovsky is head and shoulders above the Tchaikovsky of all his competitors...” (Cited and translated from V. Yuzefovich. Quattuor de quattuor // Soviet music 1979. No. 9. P.56).
Скрипач высочайшего класса!
Let me pick up my jaw on the floor.
Conductor's name was Imant Kotsinsh! (Now he goes by Imant Airea.)
The most beautiful performance that I have ever listened to
Phrasing to die for....so rare to hear these days.....but different horses different courses....❤😊
Miscakoff's daughter, Anne Mischakoff Heiles, has written a wonderful biography of her father (Mischa Mischakoff, Journeys of a Concertmaster) which explores the long, varied and almost omnipresent career of the great soloist, concertmaster, and string quartet leader, spanning from his early days in Russia as fellow student and colleague of all the great Russian musicians of that historic period before the Revolution to his many decades as concertmaster of a handful of America's greatest orchestras (Philadelphia, Chicago, NBC, Detroit, and others). He filled the interstices with constant teaching and violin trading (several Stads and a del Gesu and others). He settled on one Strad (no doubt heard here) known as 'the Adam, Mischakoff' of 1714 which he used almost exclusively from 1934 to 1981.
Joseph Silverstein was a notable student of his.
Very good book. He had an incredible work ethic -and bow arm.
thanks Hector, for giving us the opportunity to listen to this wonderful and stylish playing.
Very sweet sound indeed.beautiful and I like this thanks for this music!
Excellent and Rare......BRAVO from Acapulco!
Unique!!
Thanks for sharing. Is there any biographical information available on Gutnikov? I would curious who he studied with and who he taught in St. Petersburg. I cannot find it.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Gutnikov
He studied with Yuri Eidlin, the violin teacher in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) Conservatory. Another famous student of Yuri Eidlin was Michael Vaiman, who was more senior than Gutnikov, but they were friends and collaborated.
Wonderful! Is there a part 2 or an ending somewhere?
Wonderful sonorous playing, why don’t we hear more of this star of the violin?
Interesting video but how absurd that they are playing the Mozart from Heifetz's last recital SLOWED DOWN.
Heifetz is Heifetz, no comentary
What a delightful concerto! Many Bravos to Mikhail Bezverkhniy! You are an excellent violinist! Many Bravos to the orchestra as well! You did a marvelous job. Too bad this piece is not performed more often. Bravo! Bravo!
Even though his recording days were over the second rendition shows more maturity, rhythmic continuity and depth of sound. He had grown significantly as an artist.
この人のチャイコフスキーもいいよね…この方の奏でる音楽が好き!なんとも言えない…説得力ある技術云々だけじゃなくて…音楽性なのかな。
Fabulosa!
A great violinist! Check out her other UA-cam recordings. Her Chausson Poeme is magnificent. And some interesting biographical information appears among the comments. Be sure to read them.
Thank you! ❤🎉
nice
Very dramatic piece with little bit Asian wind. Beautifully played. Thank you for this!
Excelente violinista. ❤
He shouldn't have touched it...
This recording is from 1983. It was recorded at Alte Oper, Frankfurt/Main.
It's raining a lot outside Your music takes care of my mood. Thank you~
Magnífico! ❤️
bravo🎻
c'est formidable Brahms....quels talents..
いやはや、これはもう凄い演奏です。何回も聴いているうちにその凄さがじわじわと伝わってきます。
シゲオ、、何故死んだ、、私のような厄介者が72も生きているのに、、
A large viola for a small great violist
I have to admit, that I take some delight in noticing how monotonous and only in command of one sound color Mr. Küchl himself sounds. In past interview he has made the most outrageously negative comments about the playing of his famous colleagues including Heifetz .....
Eine wundebare frau und Kuenstlerin eine Freundin, Zurich tiefst traurig,!!!❤
This is so good - any recommendations on similar stuff? It sounds new and wonderful to me
Yes, already during the opening phrase it becomes obvious that it's Oistrakh. For what reason where his recordings published under 'fantasy' names?
Thanks for sharing Hector. 😄
Oistrach first couple of notes at the beginning: immediately recognizable. Because alike Kreisler, Heifetz, Neveu, Francescatti, Elman, these individuals had truly what we call charisma and individual sound.
Thank you for the great music today
I had the privilege of playing in the horn section of the Nashville Symphony (in the late 1950's) when Milstein played the Brahms Violin Concerto. It was a wonderful experience.
Точно Ойстрах!
No doubt. It is Oistrakh! Probably 1954 studio recording with Konwitchny
This is Oistrakh of course.
Yes Oistrakh Stadtkapelle Dresden with Franz Konwitchny 1954
Great find with a wonderful Los Angeles based cellist! A student of Feuermann!
Wow what an ending……bummer
Lots of Excitement here....Wish I were Younger....and in my right mind.....BRAVO from Acapulco!
So clean , its amazing
