On a recent trip to New York I stopped in to visit with Allan "Jake" Jacobs to chat, and to see the mural he's been working on...for a while. Sacramento poet Gene Bloom reads his poem Street Visions of the Appetizing Store. At the Fox and Goose prior to a gig by local band, Smoked Whitefish. The poem is topical. Gene may be referring to Russ and Daughters on the Lower East Side in NYC. Written while Gene was in Greenhaven (or Sing Sing) Prison circa 1968 for crimes of weed.
