they did it because better tuning, more useable power in lower gears with variable boost/gear.

You can hear a significant 'clonk' where he goes from 2nd to 3rd gear. It's not a standard box at all because the power would mince the standard box and it would top out way before hitting 253

There is no video of the run, no vbox, nothing but them getting medal. Not doing it in Texas was a mistake given most people disregard anything but the Texas mile. But that's what I'm saying, how can the same car with 300hp less run that much faster?

The car is at 1,400hp in this video and they boosted it to 1,700 for the 283mph run. I'm not sure what they did to it to achieve such a fast speed in so short a distance. It's a guinness record though there is a video of them confirming it.

Two things I don't get. There are no videos of the run anywhere. And it would take more than 1700hp to get up that fast in a mile. Hennessey pushed upwards of 2000hp, as did Heffner when they ran 266mph. Shit they were pushing close to that in this video.

Yes you may indeed get as many parts as you can afford from lamborghini & they are as expensive as most mercedes parts except for seats (which are custom made). Part of Audi which owns Lambo makes a healthy amount of the years sales in parts alone. Ferrari makes on average 45-50 million quarterly on sales of parts and accessories not including branding
