And how many cubic meters is that?
This guy knows nothing he's using a 4ft rod board. It should be much longer. He's a beginner.
Is this a true four inches or 3.5 that a normal 2 x4 measures. That will be a difference in cubic yards
I do SF x thickness in inches x .0031 I found this formula in JLC magazine years ago. I only need to remember one number for any thickness of concrete.
Seemsceasy but when installing theres discrepencies in the dirt. Unless doing cmu in pured concretevfloor to startvright.
Or you can just take the 1400 square feet divided by 81 and get the same number
Education keeps my gloves clean...😢
Even easier 1 cubic yard will cover 81 square feet at 4 in deep,
@@bobadingo I think you mean 54 SQ ft?
@@kenscott963 will never use app calculators again!
what if it doesnt arrive as ordered per the math, You still have to pay for the lesser yardage delivered??
@@91rss The math is per design, however, the subgrade can be imperfect so a percentage more concrete needs to be accounted for.
That is so dumb. Metric is sooo much easier. 4in is ~ 0.1m. X (surface area =length x width)=cubic meter. 0.1 x (4x3)=. 1.2cubic meters A slab of three inches is 0.075 x (4x3)=0.9 cubic meters no conversion factor required
Do they add fiber on industrial surfaces?Must b Time for the floor saw. They dun popped Chalk lines ...btw...if a sharpie can write on it? It's smooth enough ..
9sqft divide by Rebar guys nutz.
There’s calculations for fill materials online, use it and landscaping for stone, dirt, mulch…
Wowww....
What about the footer?
So glad you wore all that safety gear just to work a magic marker.
Freakin Sweet!!!
So much BS in such a short time 💩
Cool. I just divide the square footage by 82 on all my slabs when I use regular 2x4 lumber as my frame. 82 sq ft =1 yd.
If you want the blue chock to stay after you snap the lines spray hairspray over it and the blue lines wouldn't wash away
Incorrect 4"is 1/3 of a foot so 1 sq ft +.333. And CuI is cubic inches not cubic feet Or yards are you drinking sir?
Another way is Multiply Square footage and then divide by 80 and that will tell u how many yards u need so 1400÷80=17.5
Take length x width & divide by 81 for a 4” slab just that simple
This is why I have a fraction and decimal calculator app. I can't do that stuff in my head. Just being honest.
They don’t have carpenter pencils in that work place apparently. That really triggered me for some reason lmao 😂
No jack hammer? Babies😂 Bring a parachute
Or, a cubic yard is 27 cubic feet of whatever, multiplied by 3 is 81 square feet of 4" slab. So 1400 divided by 81 = 17.3 cubic yds of concrete.
or you could stop being spastic and use the metic system and even your dumbest labourer could work it out... just saying... over half your population have no idea how to effectively use your measurement system... at this point there is no argument to continue to use your bastardized convoluted and completely antiquated system... lets be honest, you might as well be using cubits, spans, palms and fingers... the rest of the world see's that your system of measurement is akin to the level of advancement of ancient Egyptians
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Maybe one should adopt a UN Moral Standard…
That pretty close
In metric it's always easy in cm, meter, km, etc. If the slab in say 20cm thick it's 0.20 x (x)m2 Is it 16cm think it's 0.16x... m2. Same system for mm, cm, km etc.. Any situation no matter what size you are working with is just as easy. You only need to understand it. There is not much that you simply need to memorize.
This guy cant right sqft? Or yd^3?
Why is to dangerous???? Of course you can use a jack hammer That’s what it’s for. And it’s not the first time They fuc up a project. It’s been done before. Quit been wimps slackers. And get your ass to work.
4 inch slab: square footage/81=yards concrete OR SF X 0.0123=yards conc. , 1/81 =0.0123
OR divide your sq footage by 81 for cubic yardage. Used to have a cheat number to divide your sq footage by up to 12" thick slabs. I couldn't remember them all so i just use the formula for finding cubic yards. LxWxD/12/27=cubic yards
27 cubic feet in a yard of product 3 feet wide by 9 foot long by 1 foot deep. So if you want 4 inches deep, you peel off 2/3rds of the 27 which leaves you with 81. 81 times 1400. = 17.28 round up to 18 or you could say, two concrete trucks.
What is this a conversion from sq ft to cubic yards? What is this used for?
@@hezekiahamen8335 ua-cam.com/video/_2-HW1yPGJ8/v-deo.htmlsi=GjHVQQys2CzgdDo5
So the no shortcut way. 4/12*sq_ft/27. 4/12 gets you feet of depth. Multiply by sq_ft to get total cubic feet. Dividing by 27 gets cubic yards since a cubic yard is 3’*3’*3’. That 0.0123 in the video comes from taking everything but the sq_ft. 4/12/27 = 0.012345679….. BTW, 4/12/27 also happens to be the date of the third deadliest tornado in Texas history.
In essence a yard cube is 3’x3’x3’. Think of a cube. The height will be 3’=36” If a 4” slab is required, how many 4” are there in 36”? 9, so remember one side is 3’. 9x3=27 therefore at 4” you get a 3’x27’ coverage. Its just like slicing 4” thick pieces of a 3’x3’x3’ cube and placing them side by side This video taught me a faster way💯

It's all very simple....not!
What about the 5% for waste etc if it dont work full blocks, you cant just shove cuts in willy nilly, if it was an obscure face brick I might go with a 5% total but for conc blocks, you can reuse any spares elswhere so I'd go 10% for the waste etc.
@@kevinscollan8293 36 extra blocks would be quite a bit extra?
Training Alex to take your job and it's obvious he is dumbfounded!!

Im glad at 60...I will never need to know this
or you can do it easier than that. just 1400÷80 and you get your yard. 4 inch is ÷80
OR... You use the metric system 😂
Or divide square feet by 81
