Why Narrow-Mindedness is Everywhere (And How Living in Europe & the USA Changed My View)
Are We All Narrow-Minded?
In this thought-provoking video, I challenge the idea of narrow-mindedness. Is it something unique to America, or do all cultures have their own biases? Drawing from my personal experiences living in both the USA and Europe, I explore how cultural biases and narrow views shape our thoughts, relationships, and everyday lives.
We all have biases, but are we aware of them? In this video, we dive into the psychology of bias and how it impacts our perceptions of others. Whether you’re from the USA, Europe, or any part of the world, this video will encourage you to reflect on how cultural differences influence your worldview and how to overcome them.
What You’ll Learn in This Video:
The psychology of narrow-mindedness and cultural biases
How living abroad in the USA and Europe opened my eyes to different perspectives
Simple ways to challenge your biases and become more open-minded
Why embracing cultural diversity leads to personal growth
How understanding different cultures can reshape your identity and help you build better connections globally
If you’ve ever felt limited by your own cultural assumptions or wondered if you might be narrow-minded, this video will provide the insights and tools to break free and grow.

Finding Home in Two Places: Navigating Belonging Across Cultures
Переглядів 21916 годин тому
What truly makes a place feel like home? In this video, I dive into the meaning of home and how it’s shaped by our experiences, the people around us, and sometimes, the challenges we face. For some of us, home is where we find comfort, belonging, and connection. But what happens when that sense of home changes, or when familiar places start to feel like something else-maybe even a prison? Throu...

Bravo! You found out, too!
But ignorance is strength! Sad to say that.
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it badly. Broad, healthy, benevolent views of people and things cannot be acquired by vegetating all one's life in a small corner of the earth." Mark Twain
Bravo Jay - this is such a beautiful video. We all hold value and we all have something to add to this chaotic but beautiful world.
Absolutely!!! No-one can be totally open-minded, not in my opinion or experience. What people can strive for is to not show their narrow-minded stumbling blocks, to realise what they are and learn to live with them and not impose them on others. The world would be one hell of a place in a far better position than it is.
Nice to see you again! Your views are always intriguing.
I've missed you! Home, to me, is in the gap. The breath between the breaths - the gap - the field of all possibilities. I'm also an 'inbetweener' born in South Africa, married an Englishman who made me think I was English, and now living a Cypriot life in Cyprus. Just take a breath and you are home. Good to see you again, Jay.
Thank you 🙏 . It’s good to be back…Cyprus sounds like a wonderful place to call home. Love your definition of home
America sucks and there’s a LOT to complain about. But racism? Compared to what utopia is the USA racist? Japan? South Africa? Mexico? Romania? India? Complaining about racism in the USA makes you sound ignorant of the world.
I agree, racism is global problem
I’m a European living in the USA for many years now. Leaving back to Europe very soon. Forever. The last few years here in the USA my wife and I diligently tried cultivating meaningful friendships. Two couples we invited over on different occasions, we catered, were very hospitable, had a good time, they never invited us to their place or out, period. Another couple we spent a lot of time with, they even invited us to their marriage ceremony where it was just the four of us. They moved to California and now want my wife to schedule calendly appointments with them just to catch up over the phone. Another guy I’ve known for a while texted me one day telling me that we’re “like family.” I’ve invited him over twice, he’s never invited me over once; he lives 5 minutes away. Calls me “family.” Lmao. I have absolutely given up on seeing people here.
Thanks for sharing. This something I talked about in the last video. People make a place feel like home, and also can make it feel like the opposite.
Home is where i live and home is where i travel , cause i love the history and the wide and open spaces, and sometimes it´s the best and sometimes the worst expierience, but it`s allways life and we have to handle it to make the best of it. Greetings from Hamburg
Hey! Good to hear from you after so long. Always good to hear how you see things. Your mesage in this video is from someone who has found success, has money and the opportunities that that brings. What you have found in Europe is pretty much available to all, at some level, if anyone chooses to take advantage of what is out there. In the US................... I am in the UK and home to me means somewhere where I can be me, no restrictions,. For me that depends enormously on where I live, who are my neighbours and where they are. I want to play music LOUD when I need to, to not have judgement passed over trivia, basically, to be left to dow whatever I want to do.
I have been living on two continents for some time like you, and am currently living in a corner of Germany where three countries come together and are thus easily accessible. So I am happy to say that I can follow your train of thought a 100 percent. But of course you need this experience to not just cling to a certain place or house or background in the belief that only this can be your home. For me it was a freeing experience to feel at home in a completely different surrounding, although you must admit that there is always a little bit missing which is probably the human network that is left in the other place.
I live in Florida, but it's never felt like home. I was stationed in Germany and that felt like home. I wasn't because of the country or the city, it was about the people.
Love this. Could not have been at a better time. These past couple of weeks, I've been homesick, the weather turning cold, getting dark earlier, and not having the same friend and family support in my new country...I was feeling quite down. I was thinking of the same question, what is home. And I have to say, for me it's definitely the people. People. can make or break that feeling of home. <3
I see you apply the greyrock method
Jealously and insecurity
USA wake up, you’re not the only nation on this planet. Hopeless, gun in one hand and bible in the other
Thanks. A very useful insight.
European are not rude we say what we think and is not rude we don't make a circle about a question
1:19 'I couldn't understand a single word because I didn't speak any German at all.' maybe it was due to their Bavarian accent. in theory, you should have been able to pick up on quite a few words as both German and English are west Germanic languages and share a lot of common roots. the simpler the conversation, the more common the vernacular in English, the more similar the words get to their German translations. roughly 29% of English word roots are Germanic in origin and have quite similar sounding modern German equivalents. 😉
is Bruno moving to the U.S. with all the migrants causing problems all over Europe I can see why the Germans are so rude and pissed off all the time
Adult bullies often display profound developmental disabilities. It can even be the Grandfather, second stage of life, pathetic & filled with self loathing. The thing is they know this & vicariously try to fight the battle & discontent with their lives through other. Stay unbothered, it drives them crazy. 🙏
no homo but bro looking clean sheesh
I enjoyed this video .. really… thank you for sharing.
Thanks for this. I added your video to my play list on Bullies. It is becoming Shocking to witness bullying from adult YT channel owners against other adults. I actually had a woman who has a channel called HUCKLEBERRY stalk me at my home. She also said heinous things about my Native American heritage in chats, whom she doesn’t know and NOBY confronts her about her bullying people. It is Shockng.
Well put Jay. I would say for the most part whenever I get into conversations with Americans, they don't know what they are missing when they get outside of the United States and travel, my problem with American society is they think they're hot shit and they think America can't do no wrong (of course not want to generalize and say all Americans think this way). It's incredibly embarrassing that whenever I travel i hear Americans talk of how great it is. I came back from France recently and I can tell you that if a French person were to move to the United States, it'll feel more like a downgrade, understand the cost of living isn't cheap in France but the trade off to take care of yourself is much more reasonable than to stay miserable.
You seem very biased.
I have worrked a lot with Americans, and what I think it comes down to is little/no job security. There is often no team spirit. Lots of white lies to avoid being backstabbed or for the purpose of backstabbing someone else. You don't want to lose your job. Like you said, it's a very competitive environment...which kind of promotes selfishness.
If people on this discussion board think the United States is the only country with this problem, then you are all wrong. This is a global problem, and this narrator may be right in some ways, but he is mistaken in other ways. The United States has been a giving country to many different countries around this world thanks to our government that rapes the hard-working average American with high taxes. However, this country has helped people from other countries more than the average American at the expense of the hard-working average American. This country has been great for many decades because of capitalism, which has always worked. So, if the United States were to have a government that other countries have, then the United States would be a third-world country. Believe me, there have been many times when people in the United States have lost jobs, so companies can hire immigrants and H-1B visa workers at a cheaper wage, and I'm one of those people who experienced that. So, yes, America probably has a systematic racism problem, and black people are the most experienced that problem, but when areas that experienced Gentrification are because those people have destroyed communities. After all, the government ran these areas. This is a government issue, and if any changes need to be made, stop voting for a government that continues to lie by making promises of free things. Then, the average voter buys into the lies and continues to vote for a government that continues the problem.
Antiracism is a codeworld for antiwhite
Thank you, need that right now! 👍
Adam was created to be an eternal being first.. so Adam is the highly evolved and advanced human being.. just that he tried reproducing like animals to be born and die like the animals. Jesus is the way, truth, and eternal life.
Thank you! You pulled me back my own sel again. A person needs to hear it now and then. At least I do. God bless! ❤
🙏🏽
Absolutely. Wish you a happy day my friend💯👊🏻
amen brother
Repent and seek the one and only living God! Yeshua the messiah is the way, the truth and the life. God is patient until He's not, and you dont want to be on the end of His vengeance i can promise you that!
The soul is your mind your will your emotions your personality so when you’re alive you’re a living soul and when you die, you’re a dead . the soul sleeps until the second resurrection/day of judgment/Yeshua ‘s return. Everyone is judged at this time then changed and given a glorified body at this point, the soul can move anywhere because it is in the perfect image of God.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Makes me so homesick.
Crazy how fast Europe has fallen.
Halo, cantik
Great video thank you
It was of course, always just wartime propaganda.
I think (maybe 🤔) that most of the people don't even realise they are bullying someone. They are just very unhappy inside, and they take it, in an unconscious manner, on somebody else. This is no excuse for bullying behaviour whatsoever.
You're essentially asserting that whomever is different from you - or disagrees with you - is an f---ing dumbass. And you're trafficking in some really ugly, insulting stereotypes - and untruths and half-truths to make your points. Those who don't hold your beliefs and positions on issues aren't "true Americans"? Seriously? I'm educated, enlightened by any standard, and I don't think I've ever seen a more arrogant and elitist depiction of Americans on all the channels that take a shot at it. We get it - you're intolerant of most Americans.
Racist people of every color in America
