Clean cuts lawn care and property services is our business. We got started in the spring of 2021. Our goal is to replace our income from our full time jobs and run our business full time. We like to show case our work here on UA-cam.
It’s 3 o’clock in the morning, snow removal has gotten boring
Today’s unexpected and unwanted snow event is beginning at 3am. We got 4 inches to 6 inches of snow, with 6 inches being the norm on the properties from this storm.

Due to the 30 inch Husqvarna st230 getting damaged, we decided to buy another snow blower. We went with a 26 inch power smart.

great video. keep up the great work
Great vid just from observation looks like you need to tighten up the those controls cable there should not be that much slack when relaxed keep chasing that snow money
Talking about the drive cable? Yea I know, they actually had it so tight from the factory that I thought it was going to break. I loosened it but a little too much and no drive friction, tightened it back up to where it drove and that’s where I left it. I’ll probably tighten it down a little more. The auger cable is fine for now until it stretches of course.
Do you ever salt the driveways or sidewalks?
No. But we’re considering offering it next year as a separate service
What state are yall in
Apparently Alaska lol no, we’re in Ohio.
In South West Virginia we had more snow this year than the last few years
Oh no the snow has finally driven him CRAZY!!! He's now rapping 🤣😂🫢🎵🎙️🎶Hang in there Aaron we'll be mowing soon✔️💯💪🏾
lol it finally broke me down bro lol
hang in their bro i live in wisconsin i went out twice this year and that's the disadvantage of charging each time because iam not even paying my bill
Damn it’s still snowing down there
Sounds like the problem with the wheels could be the belt… if it moves with no weight, and then doesn’t with the weight of blower then it’s drive belt for sure
Changed the belt today, not the belt.
have u considered using a single stage blower? much lighter and easier to maneuver in tight spots
Be grateful lol. We’ve had one plowable event in northern Illinois
Im in Gurnee. Last few years have been really slow. All the snow moved south. Hopefully February brings us something
Praying for snow for you guys.
🙋♀️👍🌬🌬🌬🌬🌬
Send some snow to Ct.
You can have it lol
Holy crap i never realized how close we really are to each other. I recognized that music store you passed at the beginning of the video. I'm about 15 mins from that area. (i do landscaping work in the area and some mowing) crazy I've never seen you. small world lol. Been watching a few months now, nice work brother.
Oh no kidding. Well I hope to see you out there.
👍
omg, blah blah blah BOO HOO, WHAT A STUPID VIDEO
Ok thank you. Have a good day.
I commend your hustle.
Thank you
Find a70s or 80s machine. They are all over marketplace. 10hp techumseh, thicker inpellers and auguers will hold up. Or get an older gravely commercial 12 with a snow cannon for commercial use.
I'll be praying for you, man.
Thanks very nice of you. Thank you.
After watching the last couple of videos, you definitely get a workout even with back pain. Being solo you just push through it. Not too mention you can’t take certain pain meds. I don’t know how you do it but I certainly commend you.
Thanks bro. But you’re right, it kills me. It’s actually almost miserable at times.
I took a 42" tractor plow and mounted on a old snowblower, with the blower attachment off! Total game changer
Really? Can you email me some pics? Blanchardaaron10@gmail.com. If you can. No rush.
@cleancutslawncare will do!
I just use a good quality ratchet strap over the equipment to keep it from bouncing off the rack. Very tight, easy and quick loading/unloading. Its been working decades for me.
Me too. But this eliminates that step and I don’t have to worry if the strap breaks, comes loose etc
Also, i like what you did with your ramp. Those factory bars are way too far apart and it's hell trying to get a heavy single stage blower up and down it... having no driven wheels. My Toro 821 is damn near 100lbs.
Hard with 2 stage as well
This guy is a true snow warrier!! Nothing can stop you when the flakes start falling! Bravo my man, bravo!
lol thank you my guy. That makes me happy to read that
Respect your dedication, work quality and honesty
Thank you
I've had that problem with my back before.
Unfortunately this has been going on for 20 years for me.
I might of missed this in a previous video but I'll ask anyway Whats the average time you spend on property? How do you charge? It very seldom snows this far south in Texas so nothing I have to contend with ...... just curious. Say HI to Vickie.... what does she do at her job? Stay safe and God Bless from Texas.
Yo yo yo. Vicky said hello. She works for a property management company. They also own properties. She’s in charge of the cleaners etc at a big property here in Cleveland. I was just thinking about this question today actually, I would say on average 12-15 minutes. We charge about $400 for the season. Raising it next year tho. We do have a few accounts that were $350 unfortunately. Next year nothing will be under $450.
The downside of being a solo operator. The customer doesn't care about your sickness or back pain. I commend you on getting the route completed. Back pain is a b*tch!
You ain’t lying. That’s why I said “commitments were made, job has to get done whether I can walk or not” thankfully I’m about 70% better now
Have you guys thought about next snow season getting like a small "tractor" or something to .ake the work easier on you?
I have been thinking about a John Deere with the snow blower attachment. Only problem is transporting it. Either need the ramp rack or haul a trailer. And the roads here can get so bad that a trailer will likely not be the answer. Could spin out, jack knife, get it stuck etc. but yes, I’ve been looking.
You're doing amazing, bro. There's no amount of money that could motivate me to take on a snow plow / snow blowing event. I'm really impressed with your tenacity, resilience, and determination even when you're under stress and pain from your back. I understand Canada left the freezer door open and it's headed your way and down to South Texas... Be careful with your back. Stay safe and warm bro. Best of luck. ✌️
Thank you bro. I appreciate that. Yea I see another storm coming tomorrow ugh lol
Hey man if your local to me and ever need a hand I'm always down we can exchange emails or something I have alot of experience in landscaping with cutting grass Bush trimming leaf removals snow the whole thing 10 + years experience and I'm VERY reliable 💯💯
I sold my Husqvarna snowblower and bought a Honda, you should do the same and sell the Husky for parts.
Did you get one with Tracks? Or still tires? Eventually I’ll go a different route, but the Hondas I’ve seen are way too expensive.
@@cleancutslawncare Yes Honda is very expensive. I went that route because i am a senior and the steering and tracks is much safer for me with a fairly steep driveway. I had the Husky 427, i really liked it but had some very bad luck with it in terms of reliability etc.
Well that's what happens when you use residential equipment for commercial purposes. What did you do expect to happen?
Which is exactly what I said in the video, is it not?
I run errands 24 Deluxe I never had any problems with my rent for 4 years on them what about 6 hours every snowfall Osgood lawn out of Chippewa Falls Wisconsin
You beat on that thing. Power smart is garbage. Just being honest
Idc if it’s garbage. It works fine for now. How is it that you conclude that I beat on anything? Using it exactly as it’s supposed to be used.
How many accounts do you do and what equipment do you use?
@@cleancutslawncare Ariens will last twice as long
I agree, those skid plates do wear fast especially with the amount of driveways you do during each snow event. Along with having extra shear pins and a few spare skid plates. The universal heavy duty style last much longer. Not sure if those wheel versions last any longer. Like you said, if a new snow blower last one season. That’s worth it in my opinion. Same as buying a new timemaster every year and the older one becomes the backup.
Exactly. If that’s the case, I’ll buy a cheap 1 or 2 every year. No big deal.
Just get a Toro
Again, wasn’t looking to spend that kind of money on this blower.
But we are looking at them for future use. I like the toro power max. I wish they were 30 inches.
Well said, you're using residential equipment for commercial use, as long as you making that 💰 and know issues can arise that all that matters
Yup
Hate when that shit happens, but gotta spend $ to make $
You know it. Parts are being delivered to fix it the 30. Hopefully I can make it work.
Well like you said if it only gets you through this season it has served what you wanted it to do! 💯👍🏾
Exactly
i run same type of business but i use toro i would bought toro just my option i hope you have good luck with your new snowblower enjoy your videos
Thank you I appreciate that. I’m sure eventually we will have a toro. We only went with the Husqvarna cuz it was 30 inches. Winter is so hard on the machines though. I’m actually replacing all the skis with lawn mower wheels on the front of all the snow blowers to protect them. By next winter I will.
Idk if I like snow after these videos
Dude people don't know how hard we work , for snow removal. Some people are just jokes i would ignore them snd take that money and laugh all the way to the bank.
You ain’t lying bro. Had a snow event Saturday, while I was getting dressed my back went out. It’s still out right now. Had to do the whole route like that. Sucked.
Man…this looks brutal. Glad I don’t have to deal w snow down south. I say absolutely raise your prices I’m doing that next year for lawncare I know I’ll lose a few but it is what it is. How do ya like your GMT800 as a work truck? I picked up a 2001 Z71 that I’ll be running from now on as my primary work truck so far so good.
Your the 1st person that has used gmt800 as the Silverado base lol I’m also looking for another truck. If I can hold out 2 more years on what I got now I might buy a new Colorado or something affordable like that. But I do love the silverados. The snow is brutal. You’re right about that. Had a snow event Saturday, and my back went out on me while I was getting dressed. Happens about once a year. Couldn’t stand up straight and had to do 40 properties like that in the cold weather.
@ ha ya that’s just the GM production name for them, 99-06(07 classic) Silverado / sierra I kinda wish I’d got one sooner
@BigRedServicesLLC same. Yea I didn’t know that until about a year ago.
It has been a minute since I commented. I like how you explained your snow removal service to having an insurance policy. In between your snow events, we need to chat about the upcoming mowing season. I’m not use to operating out of a storage unit. Plus I will be mostly solo this year with 65 accounts. Michele is going part time. Too many for me to handle them all. I have to unload at least 10 accounts, possibly 15. I like your insight on these subjects. We have the same kind of customers that you deal with in my service area. They must be related. Lol…
Yo yo yo. How’s is going out of the new shop?
@@cleancutslawncare I hate it! Everything is so unorganized. Ended up with 3 storage units and trying to sort things out to have 2 units. One for personal and the other for business. This transition of selling our house was stressful but now need to regroup to prepare for Spring. Not to mention I still have fall clean ups to finish before we begin Mulch in March. It will be very busy this year work wise.
Same. I couldn’t finish the clean ups. It rained like 14 out of the final 15 days of fall before the snow hit. First year that we didn’t finish them all. You’ll get it regrouped and organized. It’s always like that moving shops. You’ll get it all worked out bro
Finally got snow here and it sucked😂😂. I see ya going threw it down there
Oh we are lol
Man watching your channel! This is coming from the heart brother really and truly!! I complained about being exhausted about working a 12hr day out in the cold. Then watching you're channel? I'm like shut up to myself!! You're busting nuts out there in the ELEMENTS!! Here's my lazy ass like poor me because i worked 12 14hrs mind you in the HEAT, WARM, RADIO!! I give credit when it's due!! HAT'S OFF TO YOU!! That's an ass busting cold cold job!! Just Snowblowing!! Let alone shovel as well. You're ONE UA-camR that DESERVES THE SUBSCRIPTIONS AS WELL AS LIKES. You're a ball buster that's for sure!! Would love to see someone else take you're contacts lol!! NEVER HAPPEN. For what you charge you probably change for the manual labor. i rather pay you 50 to 60 an event!! Opposed to a back drag. Once again HATS OFF TO YOU AGAIN. HAVE MY RESPECT THAT'S FOR SURE.
Damn man, thank you. I really appreciate that.
@cleancutslawncare Just keep the hustle brother you have the drive!! That's for sure!! I will watch you're videos and share them!!
Gotta give credit when credit is a due!! Stay humble that's why customer's love you so much man!! There's nothing worse I don't care who you are. Being soaked and wet feet and froze hands!! And doing that make residential properties alone. Just keep it up man have to get #DirtMonkeyUniversity too see you!;
Clients love the full service 💯
I passed by you the other day; this is definitely the busiest snow season I have ever had since starting my company. I actually believe we have the same cargo rack actually lol, keep up the good work!
The harbor freight original lol
So little snow it probably would have been quicker and easier with a shovel or single stage
Don’t have a single stage, they suck, and no, a shovel would not be quicker. Not even close actually.
I like the Carrier on the back oh the truck. I do lawncare cant haul my blower with the trailer. Not in the muck. Stay safe
Same. Would get stuck, maybe lose control etc. stay safe as well.
Hey, what's the reason for the thin blue gloves? I'm guessing they help with moisture control - really interested to try that out myself. Quick question about not using a plow - I'm in Chicago where we haven't had much snow lately, and I know insurance costs here are insane, so maybe that's a factor? Love your videos man, VAMOS!
Yo yo yo. So the latex blue gloves just help keep my hands warm. The outer gloves get wet, the blue gloves stop them from getting my hands wet. 60%-70% of our accounts, you couldn’t use a plow. Not enough room in between the houses and a lot of tight areas behind the houses. Most of our customers had plowing companies before us…. The service wasn’t great because the plows couldn’t reach every thing. Plus the didn’t do walk ways, steps, porch to the door etc. I also don’t have a 4x4 for a plow. But honestly don’t think I’ll get one unless I get involved with commercial accounts but only if I deal directly with them, not a 3rd party. Thanks for watching the vids and commenting. I really appreciate it and enjoy reading them.
@@cleancutslawncare Thanks for explaining about the gloves man - that's really smart using them as a moisture barrier! Makes total sense about the plow situation too. I can picture those tight Chicago spots, especially between houses. You're right - customers probably prefer the detailed service you provide with walkways and porches vs just having a plow do the bare minimum. Smart thinking about avoiding plows unless you get direct commercial clients too. Keep crushing it bro - your vids are super helpful! VAMOS
@GrassNectar thanks bro I appreciate that. Trust me i do get beat up out there just using the snow blower tho lol
Ive been doing this nonsense for around 35 years and every 3 or 4 years I tell myself to get something big to make it easier. But it would require to use the enclosed trailer and i just dont want to mess with hauling it around in the winter. So I get when youre talking about there. Thanks for the video
See, you get it…. You hear me lol
