@@menoswaste1780 thank you, dear! You are definitely inspiring me with your consistency!
Thank you for being so vulnerable❤

@@Thesundayjumpstart gaaah you’re the best! 🥰 Thanks so much for spending your Sunday morning with me.
Thank you Elisa for your strength and bravery in tackling this subject. So many of us go through these experiences without anyone even considering the implications of their actions. We definitely need advocates for us!
Thanks for your kind words and for watching! We definitely need to have more of these open conversations around our periods.
I had an experience with bleeding for two years straight. It felt like an endless period. I went to my OBGYN at the time and all I was prescribed was birth control pills. I took them for about a week or two and stopped, because I didn't see a change. I had to seek a 2nd opinion. So, I went to an optimal health specialist and she told me I was vitamin deficient, so my body couldn't regulate my cycles. She gave me some nutritional supplements which helped for a while. It began to regulate my cycles to about 7 days a month instead of all the time. Still It was a heavy 7 days. I didn't know what to do. So fast forward to 2016 ( I was 32) my aunt a retired RN introduced me to some period pads created by a Melanated Brother. They changed my life. All this time I found out it was the pads with highly toxic chemicals (Always Brand) that was causing the heavy bleeding. Since using these graphene based pads, I now have four- to five day cycles, and moderate to light periods. They were a life saver for me. I didn't think it was possible.
Love that you continued to pursue answers instead of just accepting what was being offered to you. Happy to hear that it's all working out now and you were able to regulate your cycle. That's major!
This was so helpful! These questions can take years of trial and error to figure out and learn to pass on. Thanks so much for creating this space. I can't WAIT for more ppl w periods to find this podcast. ❤❤
Thanks so much! It's always great to hear if someone is getting value from these episodes.
You are such a delight to listen to. I really enjoy your personality and your perspective. That's really sad to hear you haven't had great experiences, even w black doctors. Can you talk more about that? As I'm aging, and my period and hormones are changing, I'm not entirely sure what to look out for now that my convos will be shifting from the usual AND I wanna get ahead of preparing for peri menopause 🫠🫠🫠
@@nikietalambert6936 you’re so sweet; thank you! I’m starting to realize that some doctors don’t have much leeway and insurance controls a lot of what they can and can’t do. I’d be happy to do a video on my Black doctor experience. I do have one dropping next week with questions to ask your doctor!
I'm so excited🎉
Vitex has lightened my flow in the past …but idk about taking that with other supplements at the same time
Hold on!... but what is that?
I do not ever comment but thank you for your honesty I also tried my happy Flo and I experienced the worst cramps an clots in my 30 years of hemorrhaging so don't feel bad I was so disappointed that it didn't work for me
@@dgsaware9452 I’m always hoping that sharing my experiences will resonate with someone so thank you for your vulnerability as well. Sorry it didn’t work for you either, but I hope you’re finding relief another way! 💜
Thank you for the honest review. I’m gonna try them to just see if my experience will be different. Hopefully it is.
@@ImFiguringitout32 I really hope it works for you! 💜
I'm only 8 minutes in and please do not apologize for your experience. I landed on the "ad" or reviews on IG via the algorithm.
❤😅
The bottom line , the business of Big Pharma and the medicine is GREED. Lining pockets and bank accounts. The more times they can get you in there offices the better.
I didn't know what that was my whole life until the last 5 years, but I was a victim my whole adult lifs. I live by truth unlike the rest of the world and took others at face value. I now have taken my life in my owns hands when they were letting me head to dialysis and wasn't told the truth. I started questioning what they were telling me. I started my own research and made a turn around and now I'm living healthy on my own.
So glad to hear you took the step to finding a healthy way of life! It’s so sad to hear stories like this where people aren’t taken seriously when it comes to their pain.
This happened to my mom, who has endometriosis. This happened to me with gout. i came in on crutches, not able to put pressure on my foot, and they basically laughed and thought i was making it up.
Ugh I’m sorry you both experienced that!
Why does there have to be a name for it for you to see it? You knew you didn’t like how you were being treated.
Yes, feelings have always been around, but then someone comes along and puts a name to it. Yes, you knew how you were feeling, but now you can have a bit more insight.
Sometimes it's hard to trust your gut / feelings because you can't logically make sense out of it. Getting told your whole life that doctors are extremely knowledgeable and trustable, people tend to rationalize their feelings with stuff like "I might just be too sensible" or "this doesn't feel right, but he is a doctor and knows much better how bodies work". With gaslighting, my experience is that you simply can't believe that someone would consciously and on purpose lie to you. If you yourself wouldn't do that, it's hard to wrap your head around that behaviour. Having a word for it that describes the exact behaviour sometimes helps to finally have that "Oh, they are actually that evil!" moment. And then it's much easier to listen to your feelings and stand up for yourself unapologetically.
I find it really interesting about the varying mindsets women have regarding their cycle. I have never had or even noticed these different moods and no one has pointed them out to me either. I wonder if a belief change would alter the way your body operates. You could look into subconscious auto-suggestion with affirmations and it might change your life.
I’m specifically speaking about those with endometriosis and periods that last beyond the “normal” 3-5 days. We bleed longer and have flare ups beyond just our menstrual cycles. So yeah, glad you don’t have to deal with this!
Yeah, some people have side effects on birth control - just like any other medication. If it did not work FOR YOU it does not mean it will not work for others.
Precisely.
Rub castor oil in your belly button every night and you will see a huge difference on your next cycle. I tried it after years of debilitating cramps the first 3 days of my cycle and 10 days of butt cramps right after that. I was taking over 30 advil a month for pain. I tried the belly button oiling and have not had a single cramp ever since...no advil needed during my cycle...no spotting or heavy bleeding. All gone!! Please do this if you see this message. Must do it every night continuously.
I've heard good things about castor oil packs. Thanks for sharing! 💜
YESSSSS cant decide if i need to just walk it out or just go sit in the restroom 😢
Omgg yess! The bathroom is like my second home 😭
PCOS 🩷
💜💜💜
Wait I get butt cramps some times on my period. I haven’t gotten looked at for endometriosis
You may not have it, but it never hurts to talk to a trusted doctor about your concerns! 💜
i get alllll but the SUPER cramps and the back aches to match with the tender breast OH BOYYYYYY OH BOYYYY!!!!!
Whew, chile! Unmatched! 💜
i get so scared trying to pee because you never know when it's going to catch you. 11 years since my diagnosed and 1 surgery later... every symptoms has just gotten worst.... strength to us Endo Warriors
Whew chile! Scared to pee, sit, stand, shower-all of it. Sending you much strength and love.
I feel like endometriosis isnt taken seriously by any health professional.
Ugh I agree! It’s really sad.
Thanks for having this convo sis!
Thanks so much for listening!
I hate how you were dismissed initially but am so happy you stood up for yourself and kept searching till you found the help you needed. I know it’s been a while since this video but I for sure am interested in Part 2 🧡
Thanks Crystal! I’m working on getting back into the groove and will have part two soon! ♥️♥️
How much of each ingredient? I'd love to make this
I usually just make enough for the week or so. 3 parts olive oil to 1 part ACV. Seasonings to your liking!
Okkk I see you.
Be great!!!
