Us older gamers never could have anticipated that there would be a Playstation 2. So when it came out, our minds were blown to say the very least.

Xbox One absolutely sucks. I got one at one point, wanna play a game, hold on we'll take 2 hours installing then updating to find it's always online. You can't even use the Xbox One without internet access. 500gb hdd that can't be replaced easily, halo 4 was like 60gb on disc then 100gb update file. Sorry man, it's a terrible console. For a collector, it will probably be little more than a paperweight in 20 years. Servers will be down and most games aren't on the disc making them unplayable.

I have sooooo many Xbox One games because it was the one I went to for that generation .

I also had the same issue with the OG model Xbox One not reading my discs where I would have to eject, reinsertover and over for it to register. The One S was a big improvement and the One X was a great upgrade but yeah, it's also my least favorite Xbox. Collecting for it is indeed pretty cheap. Managed to score both Forza Horizon 3 and 4 for only like $12 each.

Would a disc cleaner help prevent disc rot?

I only have about 50 games between my switch & 3ds. ^ I can't ever find the time to play them because. A. I'm playing Satisfactory B. Playing age of Empires 2,3, &4 C.playing Civilization 5 or 6 D. Playing Cyberpunk 2077 E. Playing simcity 2013. F. Playing palworld I got so used to playing the same games over and over...it's hard for me to focus on playing something new.

Only if you have money to spare. If you plan to really use the games for what they were meant too it is better to jailbreak your consoles and play stuff. No need to pay scalper prices for games that can be enjoyed for free.

I’m at half the entire GameCube library and all I can say is that you’ll have some up and downs along the way where you may have to sell some games and that yes, it can get pricy. Go for it!

I literally came up with this exact idea for a game when I was 7 years old (1991)

I bought a 30001 PS2 for $20 a few months ago, it will play CDs just fine, but doesn't play DVD based games. BUT i got a official network adapter, bought a SATA conversion for the network adapter, and installed a SATA SSD, and got a freeMCboot card and soft modded it. i buy the games and rip them myself and load the images onto the SSD. I don't really buy games to collect to complete a collection, i buy them to play them, being that this is actually my first PS2 (never owned a PS2 when it was still supported). I'm mainly sticking to RPGs, price of a game is my major road block. I can't justify buying a $300+ game, at most i can afford like $100 for a single game. You can replace the PSU in a phat PS2 with a Re-PSU which is a modern PSU replacement, it takes up a lot less space than the original as it uses an external PSU brick instead of one built into the system. Another common issue is the CR2032 battery going out. If you have any soldering skills you can relocate it into the HDD bay using a remote battery holder so that you don't have to take the system apart just to get access to the battery to replace it. CD and DVDs will always have an issue with disc rot due to how they was made the reflective data side was only being protected on one side while the other side was basically covered in a thin painted label, it wasn't until later in the DVDs life where the data layer was sandwiched between two layers of plastic similar to how blubeay discs are made. I got a brook wingman PS2 converter and just use a PS5 controller on it. I do use a PS3 controller when a game requires me to use the pressure sensitive buttons, but I have long since replaced the thumbsticks on that PS3 controller with height adjustable aluminum ones (they are named modstick pro which aren't sold anymore, but you can find cheaper versions of them) and use a silicone cover to keep from touching cold aluminum.

I was about to leave a Gamestop with Lego Star Wars 3 on PS3, game case was minty and a greatest hits. When I went to pay for it the Gamestop employee threw a generic case with a bs coverart in the bag. I politely asked if I can get the actual coverart and game case that I pulled off the wall and he told me the policy was they had to keep the official case on the wall till it's the last copy. Needless to say I walked out of there without the game.

I've got three Fat PS2s, one of them turns on but doesn't output any audio or video. I think the AV port is jacked up unfortunately. Another one wasn't reading discs until I opened it up and cleaned the laser and greased up the mechanics. It plays some games fine while others stutter and then the third one that works like a charm. I think I have more issues with PS2 controllers losing connection when it tries to rumble. Great video my dude! Really enjoyed it and seeing your amazing collection!

I recently bought a FAT PS2 with a bunch of stuff included. I don't know how the previous owner stored the games, but they are all good (fortunately). I have to clean the console as it doesn't open the disc tray properly withtout a disc inside and is dusty as heck. Thanks for the video!
