      Where I live it's a mix bag of rain and or snow it could be either. The mesh inner is also a bathtub floor so if it rains the it goes under the floor at that point keeping you dry. I get your point and you're right it doesn't really matter if snow and cold.

    My husband and I camped camped spring, summer and fall for many years spending over 2 months total over those season's. We used the 8 person Coleman instant rent with added rain fly. We purchased it the first year they were sold. Had to wait a couple of years til they made the rain fly. My husband passed away 15 months ago. I'm 73 and l still ove tent camping so I bought the 4 person Coleman instant tent and rain fly and love it. I do have a love hate relationship when it's time to pack it up and get it back in the bag. Lol So far I haven't had to open the seam to allow it to expand. Lol Camping at our favorite campground is my happy place and trying my best to make new memories to add too those with my dear husband. In Oct last year I went by myself in my small dome 3 person tent and found out real quick sleeping on the ground and crawling in and out of the tent wasn't as much fun.lol So The Coldman 4 person instant tent was ordered as soon as I returned home. That thing never makes a sound, nothing rattles, and EVERYTHING has a place. There is so much in this yota that I couldn't show on camera do to time, it would've taken a 2 hour video honestly. But it's the little touches that really makes it stick out, for example, if you look on the side of the truck the geese and the compass are flying and pointing north, on the other side there flying and pointing south. There's probably 50 more things like that that make the build stand out from the rest. It's a really personal build and he didn't even want to go into detail about what some of the stuff meant.

    All similar fridges when used as a freezer will require a lot of power to run. 250whrs per day for a fridge is pretty good. Works out to about 20amps per day or 0.8amps per hour. Be hard to find a fridge that size that uses less power. I don't think you researched the power consumption of 12V fridges. Ideal setup would be to have 100ah battery and small solar panel. Battery will power fridge for 4-5 days by itself with no solar. I have the same fridge and never had an issue not being able to power it 24/7. Unrealistic to try and run from just the car battery

    • @miventure9625
      @miventure9625 6 місяців тому

      @buuuuuuuuuuuuuu just running the fridge in single zone at about 25 degrees and that's all, not charging anything else and zero solar I would expect to get about 2, 2 1/2 days from that battery if it's lithium. 1/2 that if it's lead acid or deep cycle. It uses about 300 watts in 24 hours at 70 degrees give or take if that helps with your math at all. If you have good solar all day and again that's all your running is the fridge and nothing else then yes in theory you could run it none stop. Hope that helps.

    Great review! I bought one of these tents a couple of years ago and did one trip with it. I enjoyed it very much! I put a tarp over the top with a couple of poles instead of the rainfly. The rain fly does not look like it covers very much and is too expensive, but with a 10x10 tarp, there is plenty of room to spare. We set up our camp chairs out the front and used the tarp as a porch. It is a much better system I think if you take the time to guy out the tarp properly. I plan to take it on solo trips soon because there is plenty of room to fit my cot and some tables in it. The price has jumped up quite a bit on Amazon since I purchased mine. For the price I paid, it was well worth it. Cheers.

      I would buy the rain fly. There’s a piece of fabric in the center of the rent roof that gets tied to frame. If that isn’t tied tight to the frame it creates a divot for water to settle in and leaks through there. Other then that no leaks for me but I’d get the fly just to be safe. I always use mine I never have had a problem. Hope this helps it’s a really good tent.
