We are Colin and Caroline and love travelling and visiting new places in the UK and abroad. Before we travel we like to find out as much as we can about the places we are visiting by searching you tube and have found some great channels and have become a subscriber of many. However sometimes there doesn’t seem to be a lot of information about individual campsites so on our travels this year and in the the future I will post information on the sites we stay on. They are more show rounds and not reviews as such. Hope you find them useful. I will also post some visits we do whilst on site and if not away in the caravan anything of interest. These will be uploaded at regular intervals. The overall trips will take a bit longer to edit but I hope to upload once a week. Thank you to all my subscribers so far and love the comments and banter. So come along with us on our adventures and like, comment and subscribe and don’t forget to hit the notification bell. Thanks for watching.
Caravanning in France Arrive Holiday Marina Resort Port Grimaud #portgrimaud #frenchriviera
In this Episode we arrive at holiday Marina Resort in Port Grimaud near St Tropez.
Due to a technical problem I re did the arrival by walking the route to our pitch.
It was rush hour so there was a bit of traffic noise.
After the rush hour it does quieten down.
Keep an eye out for more videos as we walked into Port Grimaud, did a boat trip across the bay to St Tropez and had an interesting fun couple of hours in the Gendarmerie museum.
It was also the 80th Aniversay of this area being liberated in WW2 and there was a display in St Tropez.
I will put a link to our arrival from our visit last year also. Have a look at the play list from Caravanning in France 2023 if you would to see more videos of what we got up to last year.
Thanks for watching we did 9 days on Holiday Marina Resort it's a nice resort and this is our third visit so if you are down this way it maybe worthwhile checking it out.
Don't forget to subscribe to keep up to date with our adventures.

Leaving this morning on our final leg to Holiday Marina Resort in Port Grimaud near St Tropez. It's been a great 3 days at Camping des Favards. A great site for visiting Orange. Drove down to Orange today from Camping des Favards to see the Arc de Trimophe and have a stroll around Orange. It is a beautiful historical Roman town and well worth a visit. The Roman arena has been restored and is now a famous venue just like it was on Roman times when the gladiators fought here.

Watch to the end to see how I cooled my phone down when it overheated. In this episode watch me continue my bike ride from Camping des Favards in Violes to Orange to find a shop. In 40c heat it was hot but the Mrs wouldn't have it. "You must get me more wine" even though we could have bought it from the camp site after all we were caravanning on their vineyard Domaine des Favards. Watch all the...

The best.
Excellent pitch that
Yes they are luxurious
Hi Patricia thanks for watching. The cathedral is a flat approx 20 minute walk and is beautiful. If you walk up to the main road turn right and the footpath to the cathedral and town is there. The British Normandy Memorial is about a 30 minute drive very poignant. They have a lovely cafe and a couple of display rooms there now too. Hope you have a nice time.
Thanks for the info. Going to this campsite in July Especially about the entrance. Can you walk easily to cathedral and the British Cemetery?
That's a shame. We had a motorhome on our first visit and found the same so just stayed on our site in Port Grimaud . Since then we are caravanning again and we're able to get out and about. There was no height barrier in the free car park next to the Arc Trimophe in Orange. Ironically after we went back to a caravan I noticed that St Tropez and Port Grimaud had no height barriers in the main car parks. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
It was very difficult to park anywhere in south of France. We were there at the end of Sept. All garages and parking lots have a ramp with max height of 1.9 or 2.1m. our van is 2.6m high. It was a dissapointment journey for us.
I don't want to bring the tone down but the little sculpture on the stone kind of looks like a poop.
@formerCEO Ha Ha 🤣 Yes now I look at again I can see that. I think it's supposed to be the shape of the sheep horns.
Looks great! Love the waterfall
Lovely Autumn Colours and a nice walk up and down the waterfalls including an amazing duck climbing up the falls which was funny.
Looks lovely
Are the pitch’s in holiday marina resort large enough for an awning approx 2.5 m wide
Hi Norman, yes plenty big enough. We had our Kampa Dometic All seasons 400 Sun Canopy up in August 2024 which is bigger than our porch awning. Lots of people had their awnings up. I am just getting round to editing the video which shows it but you might have seen it up in the camping facades video. Lovely site can’t wait to go back.
That should read Camping Favards.
Very nice informative video and very nice site. Wife really likes the personal on-site facilities. Considering go to port grimaud next September and having just purchased a new Isabella magnum. Want to be sure there’s sufficent room
Ours is 2.5m so you shouldn’t have a problem. Ensuite facilities are excellent. The one thing I found on our 2023 pitch was once I had the van and awning up I had to park the car in the car park but it’s only about 50m away. This was due to the bushes at the entrance being a bit too wide. Cheekily expecting the same this year I took some clippers but I needed have worried as they had done some clipping themselves so had caravan awning and car on the pitch no problem.
Out of interest. What’s under the fake grass, hard standings or compacted soil. Do I need rock pegs or hammer drill pegs
This was near end of August mind. Inland. Our Cool My Camper did a great job. When we eventually got to Port Grimaud the Mrs didn't come out of the van for two days. She would be much happier if it was 22c.
Pretty amazing temperature there ! I am down in south of Spain and it’s only 22c !
You got lucky in Sheffield. Been poor weather everywhere since lol
Thoes scones made me hungry. I will say, it is definitely butter and cream on the scone then jam on top of the cream
@@Bubbsmc that's 2-0 to the Mrs. Cheers
I got that wrong it's now 1-1
@@CaravanningAdventures hahaha
A fake one
I'm sure it moved but maybe our imagination. It's ears anyway.
Thanks
It was sunny today and went and had another look. It is definitely fake. I wonder why it is there?
It's a fab site in a smashing location.
Have to agree going back again for Xmas and looking forward to some real ale in the Royal Oak
I've been holiday club marina too. Is it still English couple who own it
@JaniceNeal-x3g Yes. Third time we have been there. It has a sort of magnetic appeal for us. Great facilties on your pitch fot your caravan, Camper or tent.
@@CaravanningAdventures it's been years ago since I was there but we had shower and loo etc at back of pitch.
I love la bien assisse, been there loads of times going out and coming back
I have to agree my go to campsite for Calais. Just been again for our Caravanning in France 2024 trip on way back. I haven't done all the videos yet.Lovely people and decent bar. I must do more than one night next time. Thanks for watching.
Excellent videos. Looking forward to further videos to come
Thanks for that. 3 weeks went too quick. Lots of editing to do.
PS just put a link to a couple of drone videos I did last year on this one. Cheers
Thanks for watching. Us too this is our third year on the trot. You might have seen our other videos where we have driven the tourer (first year in a motorhome but have a caravan now) down from Middlesbrough ourselves. Port Grimaud has a magnetic appeal for us too. We stay on Holiday Marina Resort if you know it 1km from the beach and I go down to the cafe on Prairies de le Mar for breakfast in the morning for the ambience. I managed to drag myself out of bed a couple of times this week to view the lovely sunrises on the beach next to Prairies de la Mer and have put a video on for that. Spectacular. Prairies de la Mer is a beautiful site the lodges look so luxurious. I know what you mean about the expense though. Thanks again for watching and hope you are still managing to get away when you can. I have 4 minute drone flight over Port Grimaud keep an eye out for that but not for a while yet. All the best. Col.
I love port grimaud we used to go down every year with our tourer from Middlesbrough every year stayed in prairie sel a mer. I miss tbh. Bug it changed so much over the became very expensive
Thats just so cool
Thanks for watching Chris. Had the cabin for about 5hrs. Just enough for a little sleep and shower.
Excellent video. How long were you in the cabin for? Also great that you could queue overnight
Beaver
Excellent views on the way out of Pompey harbour
Thanks for watching HAT. I am enjoying your videos too.
@@CaravanningAdventures thanks. Some more videos to come
Nice 🤩
Thanks for watching Tanja lovely part of Scotland
tits gaf lad
caravan craziness
Hello Mate, Do They provide Tents? Or we need to bring in our own.
Thanks for watching. I only saw motorhones campervans and one caravan - ours but I do believe you can pitch a tent. They don't provide tents. Cheers
@@CaravanningAdventures Thanks for your kind response 🙏
Hi wings I have just downloaded Google lens excellent thanks for tip. Colin
Thanks for the info wings and for info on Google lens. I’ll have a look at that. I have had a few people say same now and I have just found a photo in the Collins Bird book. Much appreciated.
It's not something we have anywhere near here in California, but according to Google Lens, I think it might be a European Stonechat ✨
You're not having much luck with the weather. Maybe need to go to a warmer country soon
Absolutely. South of France in the pipeline.
So funny.
Very good video. Shame about the British summer
Yes cheers. Don't know why it disappeared and I had to reload. Are Sunny British summers a thing of the past?
Brilliant Video, thank you for sharing. Do you happening to have the link for the site? I can't seem to find it! Many thanks. Keep the videos coming
holiday-marina.com/ Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment I really appreciate it. We weren't quite set up on this video. Hope to be going back again this year. Hopefully the link above works. All the best. Colin
Whoever you are a big thank you for being my 300th subscriber. I hope you are well and are having as much fun as me. Especially on this visit to the Scarborough Fair Collection. Thank You.
Who doesn’t love a good fairground round. Take plenty of pound coins with you but some of the rides are free.
Lovely scenery. Shame you couldn't get the drone higher but great shots never the less
Thanks for watching. Yes it was lovely scenery and we have just binge watched the whole TV series Jericho a drama about building the Ribblehead Viaduct
Great video as well. Looks like a lovely area
It's a maypole apparently. 'Maypoles were traced to prehistoric times when the Tree Spirit was worshipped (Sir James George Frazer in his book ‘The Golden Bough‘). People danced around the poles but did not plait them. The current Maypole has stood on the village green since May 1993 and is still the focus of May Day celebrations in the village every year.'
Interesting thanks for looking it up for me.
I miss this place. Won’t be long now. 🙏🏽🙏🏽😂
I love Camping Almafra too. It was fully booked when we were out in February 2024 and for several months after. So we had to book an apartment in Benidorm. Still went up on the bus to the bar and have breakfast though. Thanks for watching Darren Enjoy your trip.
Lovely site
Lovely video we stayed in our motorhome here about 8 years ago, beautiful site, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching Claire. Agree lovely site. We would have liked to stay longer to explore the area but were enroute to Port Grimaud. Couple of good days though.
Luckily that figure is no where near correct. Best estimates are around 500 to 700 rough sleeping veterans at anytime. Also luckily there is support available to each and everyone of them to be housed if they wish by the likes of RBL, ssafa, Amicus Trust, Alabare, Veterans Aid, Haig Homes, RAFBF and many more.
Are you dreaming? This sounds as if the veterans are awaited by nice people, warm homes and a life happily ever after. It isn't and your comment is stupid and disgusting.
Absolutely disgusting veterans are homeless in the U.K., I served 15 years , the army don’t give a crap about you when your no longer a use to them , shame on our government
The Tories should be ashamed and so should everyone who voted for them.
You do realise that a small number of veterans always end up homeless regardless of whose in charge of the country? This isn’t a party issue it’s normally an issue of low IQ and or substance abuse and or a mixture of both. It’s unfortunate yes, but it is life.
@@9n3- yes I do know that. This government is not serving those veterans as well as previous ones. My point still stands.
@@johntwigg3714 I agree and disagree. The best person for veterans wants major, with some of the laws blaire passed it made it a little harder when they came out to speak to an advisor etc
Hi
Hi to you to.
