I saw a short on UA-cam with Sergei and Katia performing their art on ice. I had no idea who they were until I read some sorrowful comments. Then I watched all possible videos with them on UA-cam, and two days ago I finished reading her book. I cannot fathom this tragedy. I know Katia is strong enough to live on and does what she loves - skating but we all know Sergei still lives in her heart. I can't count how many times I cried after watching those videos - a random person from the internet.. I cannot imagine what Katia and Dasha went through. Even though this story just broke me, I'm still grateful I came across that short on UA-cam. It showed me an impossible love, existed. ✨💞

So shocked when the news was released to the media that he had died. Skating fans were totally stunned that a man in his prime would be taken down so quickly by sudden heart problems. Saw Ekaterina at one of her first solo appearances. It was bittersweet to watch her skate solo.

I know a documentary was made from her book My Sergei but, their love story deserves a biopic movie. This month on April the 20th of ‘91 is when they married. I watched them skate my whole childhood.
