Nothing really challenging out there, the trails are better for fast riding to make them more challenging. Most the people there ride 4x4 and just kinda cruise around.

This is the rfs engine, it's used in the early 2000s 450,525 xc bikes. This engine was used for 2 years in the polaris outlaw as the 450mxr so it has reverse also.

@kevinboyd3543 i used the tig so it doesn't splatter. The tig welds will rust also, I didn't use stainless filler rod.

@emmettbrittain3316 it's just a cheap one from part store, 5/16 hose is what it has on it. I still run my swirl filter also though. The side one is basically just to visually see my fuel flow.

@emmettbrittain3316 I'd personally keep the swirl filter. You can buy a 5 pack of replacement filters on ebay very cheap. The biggest issue with the swirl filter is the bowl rusting. If you.buy the replacement aluminum bowl you'll be in good shape.

All those little parts I ordered factory from rocky mountain atv. In the oem section.

We switched to the 2008 plastics. I bought that tank and white cover off ebay. They sell all the components on partzilla where we got the rest of the fenders.

@SeanMooreFilms thanks! I'm buying 2006+ plastics and headlight conversion didn't know if I could trim white cover or buy tank

@pnwatv5094 08 is when they switched to having a cover over the tank . All the other plastics would still fit. But the conversion needs the actual tank, the cover and the lower plastic shield under the tank. We got lucky and found it used on ebay, otherwise buying all separate is pretty expensive.

I don't have the link, but the swirl filter is sold on ebay, or the LTR450hq group on FB has the guys that make them. I think the small or ring is for the tube that the filter slips onto.

I would check to make sure the high idle spot is sealed good. You might wanna throw a meter on your stator and see if anything weird is going on there.

That's true, the build is more about the ride characteristics. The engine being built is just a fun bonus

It's not too difficult, the worst part is the wiring harness.

If I remember correctly it's the tank, heat shield and mounting brackets. You could check the oem part numbers on the brackets to be sure.

Pretty much lol, it's just nature when your lined up.

We sand blast all the frames, we don't have a big enough chemical tank. Smaller parts we dip then bead blast afterwards, then apply power.

I took them out and measured all the sizes, I was able to find bearings that way off Amazon by searching the size, not by machine model. Most all the parts have to be searched by sizes on these Chinese machines. We've actually rebuilt the heads with new valves and put new pistons and cylinders on these machine by using part measurements. Hope that helps a bit!

@@lucaskester8541 oh! I might be able to measure some. I'll try and then send ya some numbers.

I just looked through my orders. We used 40x52x7 and used 2 on each side. That made it slightly wider than before but due to how that setup is, it has no problem functioning. You'll have a small gap on each side where you adjust.

It's not built yet. We have multiple projects goin on right now. I think it'll be plenty quick for what we wanna use it for. It's no 1000cc but 750 pretty decent.

In 08 they changed the tank so it has a cover, before that the tank was black and you'd have like red plastic but still a black tank

I'd like to make a left and right a arm fixture to do that. I need to buy a pipe bender though.

We don't have many places to ride around here so kinda gotta make every trip fun. This is the closest place and it's 3hr away.

Those are super slick hard pack. We've still never seen an atv go up them.

Yeah we are excited too. Kristy blasted it and it took about 2 hrs because of the hard to reach spots inside.

They are pretty rough to start but they're complete. All the mechanical parts are insane expensive.

Yes it does, you'll need an o8 tank and the plastic guard underneath it. No frame modifications though.

We usually only get one event a year at the sand dunes.

We have also went for other events and even weekends with no events going on.

This was at little sahara in Waynoka, Oklahoma. This was the annual 250r meet up weekend. Anyone in attendance was able to enter all the events. We have been to this event a few years now and this was the first time they have done a poker run, hopefully not the last.

Their event is usually towards the end of October also.
