The big modular does the low bass sound, it plays when the 0-ctrl is on step 1. I'm not sure what sound you are referring to. If it's the sort of metallic percussive sound at the start of the video that's the 1047 filter mostly. Thanks for commenting!

Syntrx II has a simple 16 step sequencer where you can put notes in over a 3 octave range. It has a random mode as well which is what I'm using here.

My envelope got stuck on cycle once and I had to turn the machine off for 10 minutes to fix it. A 1 minute restart didn't fix it. Next time you have a problem try letting it sit for a while. Another thing that can happen (on my unit at least) is the envelope can get stuck ON (not cycling) after switching to a blank patch from a sequencer patch. To fix this just put a note into the sequencer and let it play once then remove the note and the envelope will work as normal.

Thanks! These cheap modules are exceeding my expectations. The 100m oscillator clone sounds surprisingly Rolandy. Not sure how accurate the filter is. The maths clone I don't feel great about but I already own a 0-CTRL and will probably buy a real maths when I can afford it.

I tried the ESP on 2 vintage MS-20s when I had them. Never tried the mini. I was going to get a Behringer K2 mostly for the ESP but decided on the Perfect Pitch instead because it can do pitch to MIDI.

Thanks I like this one too! The low views are a combination of posting too many videos, not making thumbnails, intentionally scaring away viewers with harsh intros, bad camera/lighting, and youtube just hating my channel. Maybe one in a 100 videos the algorithm actually shares a video a bit. I think having words like jam or feedback in the title puts you on some do no share list. As for the low comments I'm not really sure.

There is a little power switch on the back. You need to plug the included adapter in. Make sure to use the correct power adapter or you could damage the unit.

Thanks! Yes, I'm liking the 110 so far although it's a little cramped for my hand size. Will probably pick up the dual filter when I get a chance. Pretty sure I need to double up on the 2500 filter as well. It's excellent for the price and pings very well.

Great comment! I'll look into these recommendations. I try not spend too much time researching gear but I've been paying attention to modular for a while. Most of the functions I want are pretty basic because I'm mostly into subtractive analog sounds. To be honest I've been avoiding eurorack so that my dad doesn't get obsessed with it. We've only had these modules 2 days and he's already showing me $1100 spectral modules. I'm worried for his microphones.

@@Bata9999 I started with a Cre8audio Nifty Bundle I found used. At the time I kept seeing people talking crap about the Chipz oscillator it came with. I had "caviar tastes with a pizza face" and read all these reviews of fancy 500 dollar modules. Yet, all I could afford was the cheap crap. Then I realized the more expensive stuff was good for making the exact same sounds my hardware makes. So I ripped the fancy VCO out of the rack and put the crappy one back in. I pretty much have all the modules I need now. I look at videos on tnew stuff and I feel zero gas. I am quite happy with my collection of unpopular crap gear. I would say that making Complex Oscillator patches is very fun. If your Dual Envelope can make audio rate loops, try patching the VCO out into the trigger of the oscillator and run that out from what would normally be an LFO CV into a filter. My main audio source when I patch is my Vortex Generator dual envelope. Sadly, I think the guy who made those has stopped doing them. But I have seen them up on reverb. Another cheap module source are the Tidbit Audio 0 hp modules. I use a lot of their VCAs because they only cost 16 bucks. I removed my clouds module because it took up too much space and always sounded the same too.

I use the joystick recording on panning sometimes. Send the same sound to both outputs and send a joystick axis to one output but also to the inverter and then from input 2 to the other output vca. Then you can record an 8 second joystick movement and depending what else you have going on you will get seemingly random panning of the sound. I also just use it as an lfo recording a smooth loop and then using it to free up VCO 3 for pitched parts or other things.

@@Bata9999 nice. I hope in the Syntrx MKIII there is some improvements in that area. I have sent a video to Erica Synths with a wishlist for a MKIII. one of the wishes was that the joystick could record a choppy on/off kind of thing, almost like a sequenced recording. I basically told them to put the Perkons and Syntrx as a combined unit ( I have the Perkons also) and make a 20 or even 32 x 32 matrix for more patching, as well as add sampling like on the Bullfrog, but more permanent and have memory storage. I can see the super MKIII in my head. I would sell half my synths to get that. They sent a response , something like "thanks for the video " hahah. but you have some really good patch philosophy going on.

If you can afford the Syntrx II it's a great instrument. If it's too expensive I would recommend a small eurorack system with joystick.

Yeah I couldn't resist the Syntrx II. It reminds me of darth vader's synth or something.

Sending the filter back to itself and running a low frequency square wave through it. It's a pair of filters so this technique probably sounds different on the Syntrx II than it would on a synth with just 1 filter.

@@MySynthDungeon The modules I bought are highly specialized tools not toys. It's not going be all fun though because the case I bought is too shallow for most of the modules. I'll need to modify the case or possibly convert an old wooden drawer into a case. Luckily I have my dad to help my dumb ass. He is a bit of a genius so we'll figure something out.

@@MySynthDungeon He's the only reason I do these videos. He's mastered and synced every one of over 800 videos. Almost all the equipment I use is his. Most of the synths are bought by me though. My camera stand is only possible because of a custom made swivel mount that he had a 1 off made in the 90's. The mic stand it's on is also very good quality. By myself I couldn't even wire up the studio or setup the daw. I'm really pretty inept compared to how I might appear in these videos. Almost all the synths are picked by my dad as well. The vintage ones were bought from his suggestion and the Behringers are all his purchases. I've been trying to convince him to do his own videos because they would be much better than mine but he doesn't care for social media. Sorry for the long reply.

It's a Tascam TM-D1000. It's a digital mixer and not ideal for this. I have a Soundtracs mixer I wanted to use for this but it needs it's power supply redone.

Nice! I should have got a new one. The prices just came down. When I bought mine 2 months ago at L&M the new ones were over 400 still. The used one I bought was $280 but has tuning issues. I'm using a TS cable from the High Output but running it to a line amp.
