10x12 without electricity or water does not usually need a permit as long as it is the required distance from property lines

We are seriously considering doing this in AZ for our office as well! Our only concerns are the AZ heat in the summer and having our computers/tv left in there. Any input?

Did your shed require a permit? And if so, how long did that take to get?

I would check with your City, this varies a lot from town to town. In Phoenix, I built a 198SF one 14ft tall(W/ no utilities). Where as in Prescott, I was allowed a 400SF one. If you put in utilities as in this video, you will definitely need permits. But of course it will depend on your neighbors. My neighbor called the city the day I brought in my first 2x4.

@@freshguy601 thank you for the reply. I too live in Scottsdale. But, my outdoor office is now built since the time of my original post. 😀

Mike, if you could please upload the full DIY video on UA-cam, it would be much appreciated. The video which is on the website is not very user-friendly - no pause/play/fast-forward/rewind controls. Thanks a bunch! :)

Hi Mike, Is this really a 12' x 18', it appears a bit smaller in scale on video? I am seriously considering a StudiShed. Thanks for you time and posting video.

Great option to the cost and time of building an ADU but where is the bathroom? Do your guests come into the house for showers?

Great Video! Apologies for butting in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a great exclusive product for building better sheds and woodworking minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my best friend Jordan after many years got excellent success with it.

Hey Michael, you can actually design and price a unit like this on our Online Design Configurator: www.studio-shed.com/configurator/ The foundation system would be additional, typically ~$30. Please reach out to us directly with any questions at answers@studioshed.com.

It looks very nice. For security reasons I don't think I would opt for the corner windows. However the windows at the top seem great for light and air to flow.
