I made glowing eyes for it also got a real custom grim reaper scythe ain't no plastic for me and best of all the mouth moves when I talk. Have you changed the high beams to LEDS?
Hello Randy welp better late than never...I have the same year 99 ES3, I realize that you no longer have your Lex and I am wondering after reading all of these comments on your HID conversion about just one thing: Contrary to most NEGATIVE comments about adding HID kits to a car's stock halogen headlamp housing, can you have HID in a 1999 Lexus ES300 and not BLIND oncoming traffic? Thanks for posting about your cars lighting upgrades. Your post has really inspired me to do the same depending on your answer to my question above but with a more white light color temp like 4300...I read that blue light causes eye fatigue and the 4300 color lets you see farther down the road ;) Best, DM
I know this video is over 10 years old buy I was wondering, did you retrofit a set of OEM HID Reflector Headlights from the 2000/2001 models for your HID headlights, or did you just install an HID kid into the OEM Halogen Reflector Headlight housings?

The turn signals/ brake lights/ reverse lights / fog lights and high beams can pretty much be replaced by plug and Play LEDs.. turn signals will require either a load resistor or a special relay that takes care of hyper flash if you care. Your regular low beams cannot be switched out for HID's or LEDs due to the adapter it uses inside the housing.. projectors will require a retrofit I.E tearing apart the headlight and doing custom work to get the projector to fit.. so yes adjustments will need to be made for that.. hope this helps

Hey man! Do you have a website where you ordered your entire set up from? If so what site is that and how much did you pay for everything?
Did you have to use a relay harness for yoyr HIDs to light up?
For this car I used 35 watt HIDs and no for that I did not need to use a relay harness as the factory harness could handle it just fine... however if you plan on going with anything stronger than 35 Watts then I would definitely recommend a relay harness😉

Hey Randy how did you get the turn signals to look like that?
look for Switch back LED's... thats what they are called also a Led Flasher relay to stop hyper flash... instead of putting on load resistors.

you can find what bulbs any car takes at this website sylvania-automotive.com/apps/vlrg-us/Vlrg/ as far as the bulbs I usually get my LEDs from ddmtuning.com or vleds.com I've had the best luck with LEDs from these two companies for all my cars so far

I have 99 es300 do you think any hid h7 kit would fit. I noticed you said something about slim ballasts? How difficult would it be for this swap? Did you do an install vid?
I didn't do any install video but you should be able to easily fit any H7 HID kit in that car...

I'm wondering too. it has that weird adapter that holds the bulb in and for the life of me, I can't understand a workaround except for a bulb the same size..
are you talking about the H7 wire clip in the back that holds the bulb in place.. if so I understand what you're talking about it can be a little bit tricky getting that clip back on..however with a little Force you should be able to clip it on. umm I would make a video for you however I don't own that car anymore so I can't at this point. you may need a flathead screwdriver to help push the clip down into the notch that holds the clip.
With the ddm hid kit do I need a harness or are the ballast plug-n-play? I noticed you said you got the fog lights from vled.com, do they not have them at ddm?

There are no part numbers. Your car uses the 1157 type bulb for the turn signals and the Flasher relay you want is the CF13JL-02
where did you get LED fog lights? The switchbacks cost more than everything combined, lol. I'm still gonna get'em, lol.
There the factory fog light housing I just put LEDs in them. the switchbacks shouldn't be that expensive again I'd recommend looking at ddmtuning.com they carry a pretty good complement of LED switchbacks for a very good price :) F.Y.I if you plan on using LEDs as your turn signal you will encounter hyperflash... To remedy this problem I'd highly recommend looking into a LED flasher relay... they are made specifically to handle led turn signals and will get rid of hyper flashing
So, good deal Randy. I'm a newbie to Toyota/Lexus. I'm going to do exactly what you have but I want to use LEDs for high beams, any suggestions? I need to be able to see well on cross country trips, especially in monsoon type rain conditions...
At this point I would not recommend using LEDs for your high beam or low beam housing ...V-leds currently makes the best LED bulbs that match the lumen output of HIDs and halogens however lumens alone are not what's important. If the lumens generated are not usable by the optics the light source is built for then they are simply a waste of money.... In other words.... led can absolutely match the output of halogen or hid headlamps if the optics are specifically designed around using an led source.... but the lumen density isn't high enough yet to be able to use led's within a housing designed for halogen or hid light sources. If you really need good high beams I'd recommend a good HID system like from ddmtuning.com... A 35watt kit will do very nicely and for best visibility get the 4500k color temperature ones ... By the way you should never be using high beams in rainy conditions.. Heavy rain can act like fog where as the high beam will worsen your viewable distance by way of light reflection. :) hope this info helps
Umer Lashari... All I can tell you is possible issues and fixes. So here you go and good luck ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. If you install your HID kit and they do not turn on you may have a reverse polarity issue. What this means is the power and ground wires of your vehicle's stock harness are reversed. What you will have to do is swap the electrical wires for the HIDs and reverse the polarity. This problem is unrelated to the HID kit. It is an issue with the vehicle's factory wiring orientation. Halogen bulbs are not affected by polarity therefore some car manufacturer may have their polarity reversed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. If your HID kit still doesn't light up after reversing the polarity, your headlight fuse might be too weak. Upping the fuse by 5 amp might do the trick HOWEVER!! I would NOT recommend that due to the high possibility of doing damage to your car's electrical system..... seriously I've seen it happen!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. You bought defective HIDs although the chances of that are usually slim. The best way to test if this is true or not is to connect your HID system directly to your battery and see if they work properly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Best possible fix I would highly recommend a wire harness. A wire harness is installed so that your factory headlight or fog light circuit can control your new HID system properly. Generally speaking you can't just plug the ballasts into the sockets that powered the halogen bulbs and expect them to work reliably or even at all. A harness not only ensures that the outputs from your car will be converted for compatibility with your ballasts (and projector solenoids if applicable) but also does double duty to provide the right amount of power to these components.

Bro I putted the hid kit in fog, I bought it off eBay and it is can bus brand. For some reason my older yellow dogs are working but hids aren't working. So please help me if you can. Thanks
Hay Umer Lashari for some reason youtube is not giving me the option to reply to your comment. Did you put HIDs or LEDs in your fog lights??? I put LEDs in my fog lights. If you put HIDs in your fog lights the starting amps required by the HIDs may have blown your fuse or damaged your wiring.... other than that I don't know what it could be.. o.O? My fogs are still working just fine......
Hey man I have the same es300 1998 I recently switched the lights to his but my fog aren't working. I checked the one both fogs working before I put them together but now they aren't we turning on. So do I have to change the fuse to bigger amp to 20 amp be its already 15 amp.

How were you able to match the switch back color to your hids?
By matching the color temperature of the light or ( K ). Example: i buy HIDs that are rated at 6k color temperature and match them with LEDs rated at 6k. Google light color temperature or hid color temperature to find out more info..
