I wish I had seen this video back when I first started with the laser. Your explanation is by far the best I have seen on UA-cam after 8 months of watching beginner laser vids. I already had a good handle on it going in, but I have yet to see one that was this well explained. This is a gem that should have far more views than it does. Very well done!
Do you have a link to design file please? I can't locate on your Etsy :)
Very clear explanation.
Fantastic job with the video and examples. Thank you!
Oh my well this may help me thanks ❤
As I watch this, it is a year old. Still perfect information and presentation!
You should be an instructor! I'm a visual learner myself and you did an amazing job of explaining the process while using real life examples and demonstrating it, that it all makes sense now! Thank you so much!😁😁
What type of laser do you use please?
Brilliant thanks
Thanks for taking me 'Kerfing'...By far the best tutorial explaining kerf on UA-cam. Please more content....
Good video great explanation.
I've watched probably a million videos on kerf but this was by FAR the absolute BEST one I've seen! Thank you so so so much for sharing your knowledge with us!!
excelente explanation, very well presented! thank you! I really feel better about understanding kerf now!!
thank you
Great video on Kerf - thank you for that.
really great video. very informative. thanks for sharing
Amazing design! Where is a good place to get the wood for your covers?
Great explanation of kerf! Where is a good source for wood for lasers? Also, what tape do you put over the wood before laser engraving?
I watched your "Using Kerf for Inlay Earrings" and that was really good. This video had even more details and really appreciate it! Thank you!
Hi! Where can I find the file for the notebook cover?
Excellent explanation of kerf. Thanks so much. I hope you make more videos.
Wow, you are an excellent teacher. Concise and thorough at the same time. Thank you so much!
I have been working with lasers for about 4 years and woodworking for 50 years, your way of explaining kerf was wonderful. Using Lightburn I find that I use an outside kerf compensation and sometimes an inside depending on what I am doing. When ever you use your calipers rather that zero them wipe the jaws off fist you might find that there’s was debris between the jaws. Another way that demonstrates the kerf would be using a magnifying glass and showing the focal point Excellent video! 😀🛫
What's the name of your Etsy shop? Or a link. Thanks.
Best explanation of kerf and how to deal with it I have ever seen; thank you!
Thanks for the how-to! Very helpful! I have been wondering if the cover is removable on that style of notebooks and if so, how to remove it so this video was very helpful!!👍
Nice explanation. Not sure what software you use, but most allow you to input the Kerf and it figures out the cut for you.
Interested to know which ones do for future knowledge when I need to upgrade. I have a Glowforge and it does not.
@@SharonMehl yeah, Glowforge refuses to allow 3rd party software. Lightburn is the industry standard and has this function.
I always find it disappointing when the author does not respond to comments, especially there was only 3, now 4.
I’d love to see how you do the leopard print earrings?
Great video! I've had a laser for quite some time but I'm finally trying to "stretch my boundaries" and try some things out of the ordinary. Great kerf explanation. Thanks for the video.
What is the little leather piece called holding your hook? Do you purchase those somewhere or cut them out yourselves?
You have such awesome products... i wish you actually showed us how to make them.
Great explanation! Thank you!
Yay! Thank you so much- I'm glad it was helpful! : )
Are there refill papers for these that can be purchased do you know when they use all the paper so you can re-use the covers?
I don't think there are refills for these but you could always have them return the used one and pop the covers off and put the covers on a new notebook. Then you can discount that purchase since you won't need to cut new covers and it's really just the cost of the notebook.
Love it. What kind of wood did you use? Can we still download the free file if we don’t have Dropbox?
Thank you! The lighter colored one is 1/8" baltic birch and the darker one is 1/8" mahogany. I am going to leave the link active until my training in the TMWAL FB group the week of the 19th. I don't believe you need dropbox to download it. If you try clicking on that link and it doesn't work just give me a shout and I can help you out.
Thank you for explaining everything in great detail. I can't wait to try it tomorrow.
You’re so welcome! I can’t wait to see your notebooks! They are addicting. 😊
Came looking for the video on designing these in Silhouette. Did you get a chance to post and perhaps I'm missing it?
Hey! Vacation and my computer crashing got me a little behind but I have the Silhouette version up and am working on Lightburn and Illustrator versions now.
Have you created the video about this file for another notebook as yet?? I'm in NZ some unable to purchase types of notebooks here.
