Finally a Heated Lunch Box that works great
Переглядів 13 тис.2 роки тому
amzn.to/3qkTbfE (for the lunch box) Sold by DmofwHi. I bought this after I received their coffee grinder from my wife as a Christmas gift. The grinder was impressive so I thought I'd give this a shot. What I do at the end may not be recommended but I had to try. I bought this with my own money so it's OK if I break it. In the end still works perfectly.

Hearthland must use an egg beater to do wire management.
My mallard was not supposed to come with a solar panel but it did. So i needed this info to find the wires. Ty. Heartland techs know zero as far as i can tell.
I'm hoping after 2020, they at least can mark and position the solar wires where they are supposed to go. I had some communication with one of the upper management and he was going to personally see to showing them my video at the factory and come up with a better plan.
Have a '21 Jayco Jayflight 324BDS and I have prep package and plugs on the roof but cannot find the wires inside anywhere
Can you post some photos of the area including the birds nest of wires inside the cabinet (behind the sticker)?
Good review, thanks!👍🏿
What a pain. Generally it seems solar prep wires are undersized for what I like to install anyway. For the one small panel I’m sure it’s more than adequate.
I'll be adding more panels this year. I just wanted to test those flexible panels first. I think I'm going to go back to solid panels and my goal is at least four, but those wires are capable of 400 watts of panels.
@@AuthenticBiker Yeah I prefer solid panels myself. For me, wire size wise I learned there is a big difference in the safe amp capacity, and the wire size you need if you are looking for 2% loss or less. If you go series, I suspect the stock wiring is 10ga and would be fine. Anyway, nice video and enjoy the RV!
Was there a strong food aroma?
Just bought a 2023 Salem Hemisphere 286RL got it home and realized there was no heat duct in the bathroom back & forth with them on the phone they said they discontinued it on that model short story I put one in the bathroom myself (retired HVAC guy) as the square duct ran right under the bath. Then i'm looking at the RV from my porch and notice there is a solar cell on the roof that I didn't order wired up to the connectors on the roof. When I got the RV I tore off all the stickers so had to call RV Nation who contacted the rep. He said the wires (2) are in a loop to the right frt of the baggage area so I looked there. The only wire I found was a Black/White thick wire that is looped in the void and already connected to a battery mini breaker with a green fuse link. Forest River is going to send me a free Go Power control. An electrician from FR called me today and said I need to cut the wire loop (that was just thrown over the top space where the batteries are with a pc of black tape on it but connected at both ends) and connect it to the controller that would make 4 wires 2 from battery and 2 from solar panel . How the heck are the 2 batteries not exploded by now? If they now go directly to the battery. I have not actually gone on the roof yet to see if there is an insulator where they plug in so they don't make a connection . Something just doesn't add up here.
I agree with you. Those two wires can't connect directly or no more battery.
does the food smell while heating?
I don want a system where i can warm up at the office without my boss knowing it, because we are not allowed to put time, that is private time, maybe i need one that starts at a particulair time.
Mine did not smell. Maybe depends on the food.
I bought the Travelisimo, which is the exact same model with a different name. My coworker said that the 12v cigarette adapter will burn up your socket in your vehicle. Sure enough when I tried it on a 30 minute trip between jobs, I unplugged it and the adapter was HOT. Like hot enough to burn you. It did warm the food a bit so I would assume it isn't much slower at 12v vs 120v. It works great and I love it but I'm probably never going to use the 12v option.
Very good to know. Thank you for sharing that with us. Might be a good idea if absolutely required to use a 12 volt to maybe do 5 minutes cycles and test out the wire and see if it's getting warm. I would imagine it's a fair amount of electricity flowing through there. Probably just about maxing out what the system can take. Best advice I think. Is he that with the household plug when possible. Thanks again!.
@@AuthenticBiker Will this thing work on a 48 volt outlet on a electric bike?
@@satish8299 It is rated for a 12 volt system so I wouldn't think so but I'm no expert in electricity.
Have you noticed any difference in heating time between 12v vs. 120v?
I have not used the 12 volt option more than just a quick test. I typically plug it in in my office to heat the food up.
Just ordered mine today!
We have a fuel 250 toy hauler. It's easier to just install from scratch. Saves you the heart ach.
I've done that in a previous RV and my cabin and It was nice in that I wasn't misled ). However, if this was set up the way it was intended, I would not have had to run a single wire through the RV. That would have saved time, hole drilling, etc. The time saving thing didn't happen in my case but in the end it was all fine. Thank you for watching.
Does not work. Unable to open GoPro Max 360 videos. Followed your instructions. Downloaded everything required including HEVC Video Extensions. Still nothing. Only plays regular non 360 videos and there is nowhere on the internet that provides any answers whatsoever.

Awesome, I hope the video helped a little. Where did you find yours and what rig are you working? (year, model?)

@@zsyacsure07 Thank you for sharing that. Now people with the same rig(or similar) know to just keep looking but WAYYY back there.
Great video. Have a 2017 Heartland Torque T32 which has the wires on the rooftop already, but no sticker anywhere inside that says to place the solar controller here. Heartland just said its there somewhere! Well its not. Now with your video I at least have a place to start looking. I have a 1200 wat large solar panel I took off my other RV and have mounted it already and connected the wires on the roof to it, but pulling my hair out to find the other end of those wires!!! Thanks for video!
Steve, thank you for checking out the video. If you can reply with a short video from under the area it's supposed to be( from your phone) I'll be happy to look as well.
Did the ghost solar connections work OK with the Renogy Solar panel?
Sorry I'm not sure what Ghost Solar uses. I used standard MC4 connectors and then bare wire to the charge controller.
How did leaving the air gap end up working out for you? I'd be concerned with wind getting underneath it when in tow.
It actually worked out perfectly. Because that adhesive tape that is used to seal up RVs is designed for that kind of adhesion. They use it to repair RV tops all the time. It's been under some pretty solid windy conditions on the road and so far has held up great. Not super happy with the panel production compared to the standard hard panels but I think if you do enough of them to overcome it it will be worth it.
You can't do that anymore. GoPro player can't be downloaded anymore.
I just verified it's still available for Mac and Windows. --> community.gopro.com/t5/en/GoPro-Player/ta-p/413305

Thank YOU very much for sharing. Just let you know. The workflow you described in the vid worked well on a Mac. Thank YOU again. You got my subscribed.
It was my first day filming with my new GoPro Max Today. I found the GoPlayer for reframing was not to be running very well on windows. So after a lot of troubleshooting, I decided to use the GoPro Max Exporter, converting the file to HEVC and down to 4k. Then I used Intsa360 studio to reframe the clips and export them. Then I edited the clips together in video editing software.
Thank you for sharing that. Just for our records what version of Windows? Also what kind of machine? Based on your videos I'm assuming you probably have a pretty capable hardware set. I've got insta360 studio as well, so if I run into the same issue I will certainly refer back to this workaround. Thank you again.
@@AuthenticBiker Windows 10 and my computer is powerful enough with a Geforce Graphics card. You are basically doing the same thing but in a slightly different way and with differnet software. I will post some 360 videos once I have gotten more familiar with my new workflow. Thanks

You get the HEVC video extensions from the Microsoft store. I had problems getting them because the Microsoft site was set to USA. Change the website to the UK website. I got it to work after a few tries.
Thanks
I have 6 wires behind the wall 2 red 3 black and 1 white. Which is solar/battery/lights?

Dan, feel free to find me on FB or Insta(AuthenticBiker) Maybe I can lend a second pair of eyes, ideas as you look?
I have a 2019 lance 1985 have the same problem it’s prewired but no sticker!
@@captainmidnight7012 If you want to send me some photos of the wired area, I'll be happy to help you look.
Thanks for posting. You're right about the RV manufacturers marketing 'wired for solar' and then not providing any info on where the wires are. It's just another example of how most RV makers have horrendous customer service, support and quality
The redeeming quality through this all was that they were very willing to watch this video and then share it with the people actually building these in the factory. Hopefully those Heartland RVs that come out after this video will be more detailed in where the wires are and making sure that the consumer can easily locate them.
They just want you to install at the dealer
@@irenearroyo77 I really think it's just a matter of people getting complacent at their jobs sometimes. The guys doing the factory work could probably care less whether I take it to the dealership or do the solar panels myself. I think they just wrapped them up and stuck them in there and just being off by a foot to a foot and a half made them really hard to find in that mess. I think it may have been intentionally sloppy but not intentional to get me to give the dealer more money. (My two cents).
Ssd are way faster than hhd of the stock Alienware. And loading you windows software from turning computer on will turn on quick and so will you apps and games if they are on the ssd
I used New Wire Marine to have them make me a custom switch panel. I thought of this as I watched your video and saw your longer term need for some sort of decorative backer plate for your charge controller (or the new one you'll be using). newwiremarine.com/custom-marine-switch-panels/
Mark - thanks for your forum post and this video. Both were very constructive. Heartland RVs is looking into this with production right now and plans to take steps to sync up documentation with production so we save others the headache you went through.
Thank you for the response from Heartland. That means a lot.
Thanks for the upload! I've got an Alienware 15r4 with one PCIe slot empty when purchasing. Since I'm considering upgrading recently, I'm concerned if the skew used to stablize the SSD in the slot, or do I need to get one from somewhere else?

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm pretty darn happy with everything I put this one through so far.
@@AuthenticBiker I was able to find an open box for under $1,000 I was blown away. Some of the MSI and Asus competitors at $1800 were so flimsy I can't believe it. Now I just need to decide if I get Optane for the 1TB as my 256GB NVME will get filled quickly, or if I just add a 2nd NVME.
@@DDL-n2u wow, great score!
Great video and very informative. I just purchased this exact laptop yesterday form Dell. I was wondering if I should have paid Dell to install the upgrade SSD's w/ extra capacity or if I should install them myself. Not sure what brand names Dell uses. From your video, installing the SSD drives seems easy enough, Im just hung up on the whole "cloning my OS thing". Have you found an easier way to clone the OS since this video, any recommendations? Thanks again.
Hello John and thanks for the comment. This video was actually the first time I had cloned something in quite a while so I recorded it as I was learning it and it seemed pretty simple to me as long as I followed the step by step instructions. I have not had reason to clone anything since I made this. I apologize but I have not researched it further. I'm happy to report that everything is running extremely fast and I have a ton of storage. Super happy with the upgrade including the cloning portion.
Mark Baker Hi Mark, Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate the information. Question, does it matter which drive you clone the OS to?
I John sorry for the delay. I have not researched different cloning methods. One commenter did say you can do so right inside the machine relatively easy but I have not looked into that.
Thanks for the Video! It actually doesn't need an adapter, one can just place the m.2 SSD in the 2nd slot and clone the main SSD to that slot.
I didn't know that, thank you.
Thx cool vid. I'm about to get me one of those so useful tips.
Great vid thanks
