Hi there. The cables used to connect the ModBus terminals are not set colours so it's difficult to comment. I would suggest to try it and if doesn't work, switch it around. You cannot harm the meter by wiring the ModBus incorrectly.

Hi, the CT settings should be programmed to match up to what the Current Transformers Primary and Secondary CT ratio is. If the ratios are not set correctly, the meter will not be accurate and you could get readings very far off what they actually are.

Hi Mark, thanks for your comment. We had the SDM230-MOD-MID developed to be compatible with Growatt inverters so I want to say yes. However, I am not sure on the specific model of the inverter and if Growatt have made any changes their end so I unfortunately couldn't tell you 100%, but I am certainly 98% confident that it will work. Growatt do spec Eastron meters any way so I'm sure you will have no issues with the SDM230-MOD-MID. I hope this helps.

Apologies to hear this Steve, If you want to program the ModBus address, Baud Rate etc, you will need to use the relevant communication and connect it up to a laptop or computer to program the meter.

Thank you for your comment. The M20 and M18 badge means the meters are MID approved and state the year of manufacturer. M20 = 2020. M18 = 2018. If there is no M badge, then it's likely the meter is not MID approved. I hope this helps!

Hi, you have to set the CT rate on the meter to match the CT ratio you are using. If you set it incorrectly and it doesn't match, the kW and kWh calculations will be incorrect.

It sounds like the CT ratio is still set incorrectly. This meter is not MID approved so you should be able to change it and save the settings from the face of the meter. If you cannot change it from the face of the meter, you can change the CT rate via the EEM Meter Set software which can be downloaded from our website. Also, from my understanding, the CT input for that meter is 333mV not 100mV but this is something I would suggest to double check with your supplier as there are different version of the meter available.

Hello, I think you may have accidently downloaded the EEM Prepay rather than the EEM Meter Setting software as this one does not require a password.

Yes! I was downloaded from Eastron website. Your software EEM, solis can’t setup in my laptop ( surface book window 10 64 bit).

Thank you! I was setup it ok. But the CT can’t change. For example, I’m set it 100A on the metter before, now i want to change it to 200A by software. But can’t.

Hi There, thanks for your comment. Unless you are using a power transformer / voltage transformer, you do not need to worry about the PT rate, just leave it as standard which is PT2 = 400, PT rate = 0001. The "set pulse" setting relates to the Pulse Width / Pulse Duration. The standard setting of 200 refers to 200 milliseconds. Your CT rate is set correctly. Yes, you can change it via the modbus / using the software but not from the face of the meter.
