I saw this lamp on a stand online, I really liked it and it's nice to see that you made arrangements with it. I think that making decorations in narrow bottles is difficult, so I personally prefer forests in a jar, where I can fit both hands 😅 applause for your patience and project 👍

@martaxyz1157 The light is amazing, and the plan is to paint the back of the tank black once I re-scape it. I'll have to remove the light stands to do that then. One idea was to hang them from the shelf, though I might take them down,so the stands were the best option. But stay tuned for sure🙌

With hydrochloric acid it also depends on the amount dissolved. When I was a first year Physical Geography student, we did a fieldwork course making loads of bore holes in the Dutch river delta and every 10 cm had to be tested for calcium using a hydrochloric acid solution which we transported in our backpacks basically. Using the scale from 0 to 2, 0 is no reaction, 1 is an audible reaction holding close to your ear, 2 is a visible reaction. It was like 1 or 2 percent or something. It's been over 25 years. It was strong enough to cause skin irritation.

@TheRealTMar must have been a lot of fun doing such an experiment, and I can imagine working with an acid the whole day had its drawbacks. I created a new OPT (Old Plumber's Trick): For those little patches of green hair algae that pop up in my aquarium, I can remove quite a bit by twizzling it around a bathroom drain tool called a Drain Weasel, an 18" long flexible plastic stick with a Velcro tip that's meant to free drains of hair clogs. To discard it, unwrap the algae from the Drain Weasel by winding it in reverse from the Velcro tip.

I use muriatic acid to test rocks. It’s more acidic than vinegar and much safer and easier to get than than hydrocloric acid.

@evilone543 I will definitely try the muriatic acid rather. Thanks for the advice❤️🙌

Hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) kills BBA off completely, and just breaks down into water and oxygen. Get some into a spray bottle, spray down the entire tank, cover the tank, let it sit for a while and just scrape/wash off the tank after.

@jamescorrigan6063 Honestly, I never thought of that, though I did just go to town on it with a brush, vinegar, and lots of sun. It should be fine. I hope😅

@@IDoScaping It's always good to keep a bottle of the stuff around, in this hobby. A 3% solution is good for most applications. Direct dosage through a syringe into a tank to spot kill stubborn algae, to disinfect plants from dodgy sources before they go into a tank...

I think those paving blocks are also safe for aquarium :). Nice simple scape tho, hope your friend will also have a fresh new one with suitable fish! Are the plants also there for years? If yes, they are doing great. Maybe too much sunlight and overfeed are causing bba. Good luck and keep doing the great work!

@civilexpo7974 Thank you so much, I do think that my friend did feed too much here and then. Tye tank was also close to the windows,so sunlight touch light, excessive nutrients, and too little maintenance could have caused the outbreaks. Though the plants have been there for that long to yes, anubias is a hardy and long-lasting plant. He is planning to get a nano cube soon, and I will most probably be there to help him set it up🙌🙂
