That's awesome. It's very seldom to hear that someone has a half-moon tank. I fell in love with the shape the first time I saw it, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video🙌
Thank you, and I'm glad you like the scape. The red and blue on the cardinals dose stand out nicely. Can't wait for them to grow a bit and really show their colours😊
They can't no. I back filled the whole island with lava rocks and closed of every larger hole with filter floss. So I hope at least. Maybe some small shrimp might make it definitely, yet the fish don't.
They do grow quickly, yes. I will ofcourse keep an eye on them as they grow. Though with proper maintenance like water changes, a good filter, and the amount of epiphyte plants in the scape, there should be minimal concern. If problems should arise in the future, I can always reduce the numbers😊 since I am planning on getting more tanks.
@@IDoScaping large weekly waterchanges will help of course, but who wants to do that. For plants, epiphytes grow slowly and don't significantly affect nutrient levels. You'd need substantial emersed growth for such a large bioload (a big monstera, peace lilies, floating plants), but it's hard to balance it with a small water volume.
Again, I'll keep an eye on them. Epiphytes might grow slow, but their impact should not be overlooked. The entire back of the mountain is also a biological filter, and there is emersed growth as well. I don't want to sound disrespectful, but to look after animals, then they deserve the proper care, large weekly water changes might seem like a chore, or even just a water change. Though these things need to be done for the health of the tank and animals, even I am lazy some days, yet people forget that an aquarium is not always just plug and play. I will keep everyone updated on the development of the tank, and if anything happens, I will definitely document it.
Looks good 👍 I have halfmoon Tetra 30l. I'm happy when someone like this shape and have good ideas for aquasceping

Can they get into that cave?

Don't think that's anywhere near big enough for 50 cardinals. They grow quite large.
