      As the videos were shot during lockdown and edited 600km away, I could not re-shoot that cut-away. When I tied the rig, I did not tie it tight enough right from the start, so the hait ended longer than it should have. Well spotted. So the bird or the fish eating the boilie will ingest the weighted wired inserted... Why not just use a split shot?

    • @gilbertfoxcroft1377
      @gilbertfoxcroft1377 Рік тому

      Good evening, wether split shot or lead wire, both enter the fish’s mouth and on both occasions the lead wire inside the bait and the split shot is retrieved afterwards. I never had a case where the lead wire was gone after landing a fish.

      The bait remains on the rig all the time. Once used the lead wire is re-used if needed. The Mainline Baits Wafters are so well made that there is no more need for this practise, so I don’t use it any more and with the Spinner Rig being so effective, most of the rigs I used to use over the years are no longer required👌🏻

    What is the best substitute dip in South Africa for Betalin seeing that you can't find it here?

      The best alternative is Sunshine from LL Signature Series. Betalin is sold at SNZ Tackle. They carry stock.

      @@gilbertfoxcroft1377 Do have any suggestions for carp that are scared of pop ups? I have tried pop ups and boilies and I think the carp are very scared of a round object in very clear water.

      @@colossalbasscustombaits5963, it is impossible for carp flto be scarred of pop-ups. What size and colour have you tried? We had fish from every venue we tried it, but colour does play a role as some waters we only caught on white, others only yellow, others only pink and others only orange. We only fish 12mm or 15mm Mainline Bait pop-ups.
