After getting the mechanical side of the car back together this video is the first time starting the car. I did turn it over with fuel pump disconnected to get oil pressure up abit and then with fuel pump connected to get fuel up to the injectors. But this capture the first time of it actually running.

fancy painting mine
You might not be asking that if you saw it up close!! First time I’d ever painted a car. Why not follow suit and try it yourself?
Hi mate where did you get the car setup?as i have 1 running mfi and need it setting up
I’ve not had it setup, it was running good when I got it, just needed loads of welding. After engine rebuild I stuck it back together and it seems ok. But it’s a like for like spec just new bearings, rings etc.
Thanks mate .mines been to norris motorsport today..low oip pressure so need a rebuild 😢
Low oil pressure ^
NMS are the Ford Rs Kings just down the road from me. I see them usually on a daily basis out testing various RS's. They do some incredible engine builds.
Hi matw..where did you get you escort rs turbo setup?thanks
Health to drive sir🎉
Hi, does the towbar need to be activated via OBD once fitted?
Hi, no didn’t have to do anything it just worked after being wired in.
Hi @stuey650 which dump valve does it have I’m about to order one for my RS and yours sounds really good thanks L
Hey, it’s a Bailey motorsport one. Was fitted when I got the car not sure if you still get them new or not but found one on eBay here that looks that same - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166472824252?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=T0ePrKoPR2m&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=YslXt3zWQPq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@stuey650 really appreciate that thank you
Make sure it's a Bailey twin piston dump valve for the MFI. The single piston dump Valve is for the EFI in fiesta rs turbo.
Quite a few of these made it down under. I know a guy who has two in dry storage and if i can ill see if he wil part with one. Order of the day if it happens will be a barra turbo to wake the dead. Light chassis 600 rear wheel should get it down the road post haste. Just gotta get them denarios.....
More onboard videos please! Love that car, used to have one long ago, still miss it. What are the specs? Stock with just dump valve?
Thanks, tucked away for winter so a job for next year. It’s got a Kent cam, chipped ecu, alloy intercooler, piper cross filter and stage 2 turbo. Still running mfi
Fantastic job.
Where did you get the webbing repair panel from please great video by the way
If you are on Facebook search and join a group called “rs turbo restorations” and on that group there is a chap called “Lee ST RS Osborne” that sells them.
Top class work !☘👍
Much appreciated!
Very nice project! good to hear it running
Yeah always a huge milestone getting to that point.
Amazing car looks the business
Cracking job well done 👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Lovely job, and so glad you resisted temptation to make it an 'S' replica, the LS is much rarer. My 1.6 was a pale gold with the steel GL wheels painted black. VNR 969X
Rosso red? Looks great!!!! 👌🏻
No not rosso, Venetian Red if I remember correctly. Thanks
REAR WINDOW STICKER SHOWED HARPERS GARAGE IN ABERDEEN NICE ONE.
You’ve got a keen eye! Yes we added that, not sure it was harpers from new.
nice video , wonder how'd the seat weight do the cables under the rear seat after a year or so?
Should be fine (well it actually is fine as it’s been a year since I did this). The wire is not passing under any of the touch points/pressure points of the rear base, infact you can tuck it forward enough it clear of the base.
Very Helpful - Cheers!
Glad to hear it!
Nice job
Good looking car! 🤩 Well done mate. Saved one. 👍
Front spoiler looks awful on this icon, - shame…
Amazing! (I’m going to have a walk along my road to see if anyone’s left any old Ferraris rotting on their drives that they don’t want!) 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Great job!, i got my dads 1975 mk2 1.3 ohv GNL527N after his 10yr ownership,i put a 2.0ltr ohc engine box axle in it painted it black (from sahara beige)with jps gold lines, wish i had it now😪.
What - no Coyote V8?
Nice and handy trick👍
Very great sound ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful.
Thanks for this I’ve just removed my door card . This was something intended to do next on my list appreciate your vid S
If yours are as nasty looking as mine were its definitely worth the effort
Sounds mint 👌👌❤❤
As a vehicle tech of over 36 years, this is simply music to my ears. Sounds awesome and the reason electric cars will never be "real cars" ❤️
Same with quartz watches, only mechanical watches are real watches
That cyclist had to stop and take a moment there. I think maybe 1 or 2 brought back a memory. How are these cars still alive in Scotland howbthe salt hasnt eaten them 😲
The cyclist having to wait certainly made me smile, probably wondering when they were ever going to end!
Wonderful views and a glorious sight no not mother nature but the cars i owned two 30 year ago always loved them one of which was two litre s in jps colours
Great upload👌👌 just subscribed. Great stuff 👍👍
Capri's will be a classic car at some point , great driving roads. 👍
Sorry but the front spoiler kills the car.
Not sure if fit it again now. The next owner removed it anyway.
Anyone here
Congratulations,it's beautiful! And merry Christmas one and all.
What’s with the snow plough on the front 😂
Haha yeah a bit marmite not even sure I like it now but did at the time. When I sold the car the next owner removed it.
Not as bad as the tickford or the gen ford rs black rubber one though 😂😂
Lovely job. I had a 1.6LS in white. BPM 458Y One of the best Cars I ever had.
I had one brand new in 1983 y reg 4800 on the road cayman blue metallic best looking car ever had
Looks beautiful but in London it's hard to drive classic cars now because of bull crap ulez climate change crap , anyother bull crap aswell ,, 😢 😕 butvnice car man
WOW ... the Blue Granada won at the Capri show, in my opinion.
A thing of beauty without doubt. We will never see the like again.
Beautiful build, love it. What's the all important rear axle setup?
That’s for the kind comments. Nothing too fancy. 2.8 special lsd diff, rear disc conversion using Granada Calipers that came of the engine donor car, vented discs from a later Scorpio and Sierra handbrake cable. All Mounted on single leafs that have poly bushes.
Great car 😊
what's the difference you found with the Cosworth engine?
distinct lack of power stats.
Along with a proper production V8 the Capri deserved this engine from the factory.
Puts the 1.3 Capri i had to shame. Still loved it though my 1st car at 17
I remember the first time I saw those little Capri's in the u.s. Sharp looking car but I didn't think much of the small 4cyl and 6cyl engines. I eventually built a 1972 Ford Maverick, with a 302/4V/aluminium intake a good camshaft and some port work and added a then new T-5 5spd,She wasn't slow, and I topped out at around 135-140mph and then fell flat on her face,no more power and no more speed,But as a 19yr old I figured I was king of the Highway about 290hp. One night I'm clipping along about 85mph and I see a pair of headlights coming up FAST in the rearview mirror..I gulped and backed off the gas thinking it was a State Trooper Nope! That car flew by me,all I saw was a blur of white and blue paint, and that SOUND!! I had never heard anything like it it was ferocious sounding! So I hammered the gas and gave chase,I caught up to him easy enough, but I'm at around 120-125 and that guy starts pulling away! I got right on his tail again and I just couldn't get around him! I noticed the taillights were a Capri. He hung around just out of range,I couldn't keep up with him,I know he probably had ALOT more but I'm guessing he was holding back a bit,the paint wheels and tires looked brand new ..no license plate,no state inspection sticker,So I figured he just got the car running and was taking her out for a test run at the early morning hours. I saw him a couple days later at the local drag strip,He recognised my car and we got talking,He opened the hood and showed me the engine A V6!! But no V6 I had ever seen before!! What an amazing machine!! He said it wasn't a 'real' racing Cosworth and he actually built it himself from used and new parts the induction setup was insane! Beautiful car, fast, loud and a Ford!!
