Our goal is to share our passion, experiences, and knowledge of mountain hunting in the big woods of the Northeast with our fellow hunters both near and far. We owe everything to the mountains we hunt and the animals we love to pursue. Join the Northeast Hunters’ community chasing the ever elusive Wandering Whitetail.

Catching A Bedded Buck At The Top Of The Mountain On Snow! | Public Land | Big Woods Rifle Hunting
Join Kyle and his Stepdad Brad for a thrilling final day of rifle season in the snowy mountains of Vermont! "On the final day of the season, we pushed ourselves to be at the top of the mountain as daylight broke. After tons of miles in the mountains throughout the season, with multiple opportunities, it all came down to this moment. We spotted a bedded buck as we crested down over the top-our hearts were racing! With the odds stacked against us, it was a true test of skill, perseverance, and little dose of last day luck. Watch the thrilling hunt unfold as we close out the season with an unforgettable memory, tagging a beautiful VT mountain buck!" ~Kyle

Leave the deer alone. Between you and the diseases they'll all be gone soon. That is really sad because they are such beautiful animals.
@@ValerieMcHugh-v8l Hi Valerie! Thanks for the comment. I appreciate your concern and respect for the deer. As a hunter and conservationist myself, I also have the utmost respect for the animals. First, hunting provides me and my family with fresh, 100% organic free range meat that we consume year round. Also, hunters are the biggest contributors towards conservation efforts from a monetary standpoint (license fees, donations, etc). Hunting deer during the state regulated seasons allows the sustainability of a healthy deer population that is maintained within the capacity of the landscape. Without regulation, deer face even greater risks of overpopulation which results in disease and starvation at a much higher rate. I hope, even if only a little, I’m able to shift your perspective on hunting and encourage you to do some research on the many benefits of hunting from a conservation and sustainability standpoint. Thanks for the comment! Wishing you all the best 🙏🏻
The deer are not going to be gone soon because of hunters. As a matter of fact, the deer will be heather because of hunters and their contributions to conservation. Hunter organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, while not being exclusively hunters, raise millions of dollars to support the conservation of land and wildlife. They work closely with state and federal wildlife officials to conserve and restore land, marshes, and waterways. There are reportedly more deer in North America now than when the pilgrims arrived. In fact, in many places deer populations are to large which results in damage to crops and other problems. It is the overpopulation that contributes to disease spreading through the herd. Hunters, following regulations set by wildlife experts, help keep the population of deer in check and healthy. The hunter gets an excellent organic source of protein for their family, the farmer has less damage, less deer get hit by cars (which causes millions in damage every year) and deer remain healthier and abundant. My suggestion for you is buy some binoculars, go for a hike, enjoy the wildlife and thank a Hunter.

You follow up on those first shots by looking for any sign of a hit? Always good to check. Could be 2 similar looking bucks. I've had that happen to me.
Hey Jon! Yes we did to confirm no hit on the first shots. We backtracked him and looked for any other sign of blood or hair with nothing. I did hit a tree on one shot as well. Totally agree, that it’s 100% necessary to check just in case. Always have to do your due diligence, we owe it to the animal. Thanks for the comment!
