SC fan here. I think LSU will be fine … they’re talented, have a lights out QB, and played very tough. But in critical moments, not very smart. One comment about something you said … you were surprised at the toughness of a “west coast team” against an SEC team, or something to that effect. It’s funny how many in other parts of the country buy in to this trope. You need to stop believing your own BS on this and evaluate your opponent in a clear eyed way. Has USC’s defense been a laughing stock for too many years than I’d like to count? No question. But so was LSU’s last year. But the perception of “west coast teams” historically as “soft” is just something the herd-like sports world likes to repeat although, on balance, it just isn’t supported by the evidence. I'm sorry. I'm not high on a win vs a Conference USA opponent. They looked good, but most SEC teams look good against Conference USA caliber teams. Auburn creamed Alabama A&M 73-3 (granted that's an FCS opponent), but they're still not going to be ranked come Wednesday. You won't be able to judge Bama accurately until maybe next week against South Florida. But if not next week, then against Georgia, because let's face it, Wisconsin could barely beat Western Michigan by 2 TDs, so no competition there.
