    I like Vince as a player so it's no disrespect to him at all but as you seen at the beginning of the video that alone proves who MJ is all the comparisons that was made to him.Incuding kobe & LeBron every single one of them fashioned their game in some way to MJ.even when it came to the dunks let's us not forget the incredible dunks MJ did on teams not just individual players lol Vince is not a better dunker just another good one .Dr j and other great players before MJ mentioned how MJ had taken the Game of basketball to a whole different level and it shows because theirs has never been a player that everyone gives a comparison to from different generations at that no one can compare themselves to MJ so I think they just need too stop all the comparisons MJ he's the GOAT and that's all she wrote!!

    Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago of course my first and favorite ball player was the 6'6 shooting guard from From North Carolina "Michael Jordan" but I can remember like it were yesterday watching my favorite college basketball team my UNC Tar Heels in the 1996 final four and being completely infatuated with YET ANOTHER 6'6 shooting guard from North Carolina Vince Carter and he's been my favorite ball player ever since. IT'S INCREDIBLY HEARTBREAKING that during his ENTIRE New Jersey Nets Campaign from (2005-2010) they couldn't add just TWO MORE FUCKING BALL PLAYERS at the Power Forward and Center positions who possessed enough skill/talent to last more than TWO YEARS in the NBA. They didn't need to be All Star Calliber players but a PF or C that could of at least average or even just come close to 10ppg/10rebounds a game. I truly believe if they'd made an extremely simplistic acquisition of that sort, they could of had at least a shot at making it to the Eastern Conference Finals. Even With just the future Hall Of Famer in Jason Kidd at PG, future Hall Of Famer Vince Carter at SG, Richard Jefferson (who was nothing special, but held his own) at SF and a bunch of one and dones on their roster they still were Making it to the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals every year and taking it to at least 6 games by courageously losing to either a D-Wade & Shaq (Miami Heat) or a LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers) team with a stout roster and a handful of big bodies(Shaq, Varejo, Ilgauskas, JJHickson & Drew Gooden) all ranging from *6ft'10inch-7ft'3inch* while VC's Nets big men consisted of a handful of 6'10 D-Leauger's and a 40 year old Clifford Robinson.

    I just roll my eyes at this. This is the typical media with any sports not just basketball. You do something good for a little bit, then all of a sudden you're like the next big thing. Case in point Vince Carter. He did something good for the first little bit, then these idiot sports people were comparing him to the next Michael Jordan. This is why you never trust what they say.

    Vince was still a rookie at that time and people think he might potentially be the next Jordan if he improves and I think the reason they're being compared is mostly because of the style of them dunking. They both had style and grace in the air. Their dunk executions were so alike though Vince had more power, creativity and etc and became the G.O.A.T NBA dunker. In terms of gameplay, Kobe is the nearest to Jordan.

    Vince Carter grew to be nothing like Jordan Kobe or himself even, he grew to be a nobody with no rings no championship and just one dunk contest to his name, he was averaging 40-50 points in he's highest season stats, but now he's scoring 3 points and it's a bench player a broke man with a divorce marriage while Kobe Bryant grew to be a Legend, I loved Vince I'm just taking facts here, Jordan will forever remain undisputed king of basketball god made Jordan in a machine or something

    Jordan as a rookie was already the best player in the nba, vince wasn't even close during his rookie season or any other season for that matter, people are out of control with these stupid comparisons.

    • @cotegt
      @cotegt 9 років тому

      +LovingLife I think you got it reversed. Vince came out being the most electrifying athlete next to tiger woods in 1999-2002. MJ was kinda low key, remember he didnt win a championship til like years and years into the nba.

    • @LovingTinha
      @LovingTinha 9 років тому

      cotegt in case you forgot Jordans Rookie Season stats 28.2 ppg 6.5 rpg 5.9 apg 2.4 spg compared to Vince 18.3 ppg 5.7 rpg 3.0 apg 1.1 spg Now remember they both played approximately the same minutes, so there is no excuse. Unlike Kobe who started on the bench his Rookie Season. And to put into perspective, Vince never got close his entire career to Jordans Rookie seasons numbers, yet Jordan topped himself several seasons during his career. Jordan was electrifying fans with his aerial play from day one. How do you think he became known as Air Jordan ? Vince gets compared to Jordan because he was exciting too. But showboating isn't the same as being the Greatest to ever play the game.

    • @LovingTinha
      @LovingTinha 8 років тому

      make whatever excuses you like but Jordan was the best individual player in the NBA from day one to the last title, even though he improved as a team player through his years. And no one comes close to being compared to him, least of all Vince who never had the same impact or desire. He had abilities and gifts, but he did not get the most out of it, like Jordan did. That is the thing people forget, Jordan played to his full potential, not many great players did that for their whole careers.

  • @TheLionaaa
    @TheLionaaa 10 років тому

    Wow...Jack Ramsey was already talking shit at that time (just like he did later on when he compared Lebron/MJ and the dream team to team USA). Jordan ALREADY had a post game in his rookie season. In fact he had all the aspects of his game as a rookie as Chuck Daily would OFTEN say but he just developed them. The only thing that he didn't have yet as a rookie was the 3 point shot. And how in the world Jack Ramsey can conclude by saying Carter has a little edge on MJ as a rookie??? Statistically, It's not even close. In terms of level of play, it's even further ! But that's the war the media did to Jordan ever since he retired (even the first time). They try to do everything they can to destroy his status as the GOAT by paying some guys with a little credibility as a basketball persona and misleading the general public. That's a shame...

    • @athanasioskyriakidis4613
      @athanasioskyriakidis4613 9 років тому

      +Air Magic Hey, huge MJ fan here, but I think you look at it from a wrong perspective. I think the basketball world/media/fans and so on, at least a big part of it, was DESPERATELY searching for a guy, who could carry the league like Jordan did. Because there had never been a player who drew so much attention to the NBA, worldwide, like MJ did in the 90s. Once this gap was produced, they had to come up with the next big superstar. I don't think they were trying to destroy MJ's legacy...I mean if every fan thinks like that, 80's fans might say that the media destroyed the Bird and Magic legacy by putting Jordan above them. And of course, they want us to debate, to talk about, to compare, to have different opinions...to me MJ was the greatest, because he was the one who made me wanna play basketball as a kid. My dad says, there was nothing like the mid 80s Bird. Now the young generation says "Lebron" or "Curry is the shit!" "GOAT" whatever...

      Gerald Merritt he led in blocks only because of jumping ability. Blocks alone does not make a good defensive player. Nor steals. they are highlight numbers, but as a defensive player, real defensive is, can i force turnovers or force my opponent to make bad decisions. Can I make him drive the direction i want him to go. Can I keep him in front of me. Vince Carter was never really any of those. He never even made first all team defensive player.

  • @kanguessokang9918
    @kanguessokang9918 10 років тому

    This is simply stupid. Vince and MJ are nothing alike. Their games are so dissimilar that you can't really make a valid comparison. Vince reminds me a lot more of Julius Irvin than MJ per se. The media gets ridiculously stupid with all the MJ comparisons. They would compare any small forward or shooting guard to MJ no matter how different their styles are. LeBron is a bigger, stronger, faster and more powerful and athletic version of Magic Johnson, in my opinion. His game and style is nothing like MJ's either and yet the media constantly compares the two. I guess they are tired of Kobe and are now looking for a new kid on the block. Kobe is a copycat, he is a self created copy of MJ. But he too falls short of being MJ or being better than him.

      Carter just chucks 3s throughout his career . MJ probably never took more then 100 a season. The only reason why VC is still playing is because the Grizzlies needed a sharp shooter and Vince shot 29% from 3 . YIKES . MJ was a slasher . Vince's game is built almost entirely off athleticism. During his Career he should of changed his style from athletic to a more kobe type of style. Thats why players like Dirk Duncan And Kobe are now because the base of their game isn't athleticism. Thats what made the Spurs great. MJ is a different thing. He could still fly during his later half of his career 95-03 . I dont know what to say about him besides the fact that in Washington he was still better than most Superstars

    I love how players are immediately written off because they couldn't meet some sort of insane expectation. MJ is widely regarded as the G.O.A.T., yet when someone is compared to him it's the kiss of death. If that player (Kobe, VC, Grant Hill, etc.) pales in comparison, then they will go down as having a lackluster career.

      IN MY HEART MICHAEL IS THE BEST BUT MY POINT IS HEY GUYS ITS NOT SO OBVIOUS THAT MICHAEL IS THE BEST IT IS VERY DIFFICULT.. AND MY REAL POINT IS DONT PUT KOBE OR LEBRON IN THE SAME SENTENCE WITH MICHAEL KAREEM WILT LARRY MAGIC OSCAR OR RUSSELL...

      didier48 If you include college then yeah, Kareem has the best resume. Professional basketball is MJ. You have to consider competition, era, 10 scoring titles, many playoff records, 6 playoff MVPs. Playoff MJ > regular season MJ. Kobe and Lebron should go past Kareem and Wilt first to be compared to MJ.

    their similar, but i gotta go with mj on this. Vince is one of the greatest to ever do it but he doesnt have multiple championship rings and his best season he averaged 28 points a game compared to Mj whos best season average was 33

      MJ's best season average was 37.1, and he also had seasons in which he averaged 35.0, 33.6, 32.6, and 32.5.

      Mj averaged 37.1ppg one year, and 35ppg another. His career high wasn't 33. He practically averaged 33 through his first 6 years

      Michael L yea, so he averages more then vince. But people dont give vince the credit he deserves hes a 8 time all star, rookies of the year slam dunk champion, has had multiple seasons where he averaged 28.0 points a game, he is in top 10 of all time for three pointers. His first season with newjersey alone would qualify him for hall of fame.

      he dont deserve it as much as other players who are even worse then him. they worked their ass of their whole career training for hours while Vince did half that and was still better. Life isn't fair

      +Noah Nicolas Because Vinces natural ability was very high. It's a shame he didn't have work ethic or he could have been something really special.
