Thanks for your video. I was having all the usual tail light problems on my 240 sedan so I rewired them per your instructions and now they work great! The only issue is that the Bulb Out indicator is still on even though all the lights work. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this that would be great.

It's a shame that these guys stole my 16v head, custom cams, and a ton of money. Thieves!!!

Aside from clearing the weeper drain line at the door bottoms, the fouling of sunroof drain lines is one of the most overlooked maintenance issues on a 240 causing extensive rust in the roof and pillar area. And, wet floorboards.

Won't solder rattle and break? Isn't that why you never see solder in parts on cars that vibrate a lot? Just curious honestly i have to fix mine as well

I have a 1990 760 Turbo Sedan but I'm planning to swap out the lights to 1989 760 lights but I didn't get the connector for the wiring harness and they're completely different. You know where I could find or buy the wiring harness connector because it'd make it much easier for my swap

Great vid. I am wondering if there will be an issue with trying to solder to the stainless steel clips?? Planning to give this a try.

Great idea but wish you had more detail on the last and probably most important part. Once you wired the individual bulbs you have to connect them to the car's wiring harness connector. That part was too brief and fast you should do a second video just on that part. Thank You

How many HP can you get out of the stock B230? The 531 head with VX3 cams gives it 131, what else can be done to the stock engine using "normal" parts and how many HP can you achieve without making it a completely different engine?

I have an 88 240 gl and a 1990 240. Both grey - I wish I kept my 91 5 speed too -'I should not of sold it for 1700 4 years ago. Worth so much more. I love em - a lot. Even tho wires and radiators and suspension - spent a fortune on the 88. So how can I ever sell lol. I don't care abt the insurance - I'm keeping!! Both.

I bought my 1995 940 turbo estate for £850 145,000 miles. Fitted boost gauge £34 manual boost adjuster £36 the stock fuel injection will learn up to 12psi so no need to change . 100 psi chemical pump £70 adjustable pressure switch £37 got an injector from a breakers from a 1300cc fitted just before the throttle body chem resistant piping 10 ltr bottle filled with pure methanol. Run at 12 psi boost methanol injected from 6 psi boost over 250 bhp for just over £1,000 and a bit of simple piping and wiring all stock parts will take up to 350 bhp with no problems.

So what could I do with the stock 2.3 in my 1990 244? The 117 ish HP is sluggish as heck.

Even a ballpark number would be nice...I agree. Even if more context would be needed to fully understand where the money went (ie durability, longevity, power) it'd give a bearing on what you get for X dollars.

You can't go wrong with Getrag!!! You can build the stock lower ends too, and use the 242s' manifold. This is a high budget build. Custom engine block, that's rich boy shit.

I had a black '91 240 wagon, the last year they were made, and they only looked that way for '91. Manual trans with every other option, only about 80,000 miles as my first car. I was a stupid kid, so I sold it to tune a Honda. I want to do a turbo build SBC swap sooooo bad now. I had a sedan for a while too, and they just don't have the karisma, looks, or utility.

What's funny is this was the family wagon of choice for my parents in the 90s. I'm almost tempted to build a car like this for the nostalgia and a laugh.

Thanks! I'm gonna do this mod right away. It seems as many times I tinker with the tail lights they always seem to eventually fail again. In my case it seems that the plastic console shrinks and distorts over time and makes the connections fail. With this project, PROBLEM SOLVED. Yeah buddy!!

how mutch will this cost?

After having to fix mine on the sided of the road with a cat5 cable this is a lifesaver!
