I will always love Barnabas Collins ❤
I would rush to get home to watch it at 4:00, I was 10
WOW! Thank you for posting this! I saw an appearance on Guiding Light in Joan Bennett's filmography and I was really glad to find it, but had been wondering what character she'd be in Springfield's tapestry, and am totally floored that she appeared as herself! How delightful!
I miss Jonathan may he rest in peace with Laura and Grayson
Judith had a great will to live Johnny was awesome as well
What the Devil is the problem with the sound?!?!
I l9ve him and Dark Shadows. I was only 10 but have been a fan for 58 years. I want that cane toi...
My god Russ Streiner has some size of gut on him he’s huge he never use to be that huge
My favorite show ever. I just love these people and the characters they played. I still watch Dark Shadows to this day on Amazon Prime. I was 6 years old when it first aired all those years ago. So many of the actors are gone now, may they RIP. Thank you for sharing this video clip, it was a stroll down memory lane for sure. 🧛♂️ 🐺 👻
Thank you, Diana!
Thank you for posting this. Do you know if this was the first time they had revisited the location?
4:03 In that case, their last name is Cole. That's the name on the headstone of the grave they visited in the film.
1:02 This isn't the same tombstone as the one in the film. A new one has replaced it. The one in the film was flat at the top rather than slanted.
Does anyone know if this was the first time they returned to the cemetery and whether they have returned since?
Love him in any character
I was there at the DS Festival in Newark, NJ in August 1987...to see these dear classic characters in my favorite soap opera...Dark Shadows!!!
I didn’t exist back when dark shadows aired but I heard about the show from my dad and found it on Amazon prime a this year. Already watched all the episodes and now rewatching Barnabas episodes again. Jonathan has become my most favorite actor of all time.
I'm very happy that you have discovered DS and that you are still watching it after finishing all of the episodes. The Collins family kind of lures the viewer in and the viewer actually becomes a member of that lovable, spooky family!
That cane he’s holding. Is that the original Barnabas Collins cane?!
No, but it is exactly like the one used on the show. It was his own personal cane!
That iconic cane of his.
Julia Hoffman looked exactly like mom’s mom.
I was 7 when I saw the first season of Dark Shadows. I was terrified of Barnabas and so I couldn’t watch anymore. But seeing him here and being such a nice man, I apologize that I was scared of him. He was that good.
It’s a shame people are taking flash pictures of him- especially after he mentioned something about the lights flashing.
I remember when ABC ran these commercials in the 80's and I loved it. I knew the network "wiped" a lof of vintage soaps and game shows that aired within that 25 years, but it was so cool to see shows I knew nothing about like Yours For A Song, The Better Sex, Keep Talking, The Money maze, The Object Is, The Big Showdown, Blankety Blanks, Camouflage and Dr. I.Q. How the aforementioned were fortunate enough to avoid ABC's wiping practice will forever remain a mystery.
Lara Parker (RIP). One of my first true TV crushes when I was 12.
Gostei de ver Johnny e barbara juntos novamente🕵️🥰 .A noite dos mortos vivos é um clássico 🧟🎬📸 de
Johnny, attended to many night of the living dead cookouts.
This movie is still superior to anything that's made today. I suppose that old saying "Less is more" is correct, because it's a formula that worked well for this movie, and nearly 60 years later stands the test of time.
If I have George Romero figured right, he probably borrowed from the "Kecksburg UFO incident" which was news in the early to mid 60's, as the idea for the Venus probe that crashed back to earth, and spreading the unknown radiation that reactivated the recently deceased. I don't know, but just a theory I've held.
I would have loved to have met Miss Bennett, such a wonderful actress and so elegant.
I WOULD LOVED TO BE AN ACTRESS IN DARK SHADOWS!
I've seen one remake of Dark Shadows, in the 1990s, and it was not as good as the original! Remakes never are as good as the originals! Jonathan Frid was the quintessential Barnabas Collins! ~Janet in Canada
Even in their interviews nothing works right!!!
I love how Louis responded to the remake/revival question, “leave it alone, let us have our own little niche”…..oh if only Tim Burton and Johnny Depp had heeded that advice!
Kathryn Leigh Scott was Beautiful.😍
Brilliant Actor and Forever Iconic Character
I still love my Judith! She was so lovely and kind when I met her, also adore Karl Hardman's daughter.
Scarlet Street.......'nuff said.
Jonathan Fried is the one and only Barnabas no one can take his place not Ben Cross from the 1990 revival or Johnny Depp from the movie......... the two 1970's movies House of Dark Shadows and Night of Dark Shadows are way better then the Johnny Depp movie.
An 80s show reflecting on an 60s show… interesting
As a high school teen addicted still am at 66 vampire classic
Me too!
I wonder if my mother would have remembered this, she was a fan of both Guiding Light and Dark Shadows! I was only four at this time so... A little too young to be watching soap operas 😅😅😅. This is so cool though!!!!
The 80's version of Kathryn was still kickin' it. Been in love with her for over 50 years.
My favorite vampire. The reluctant vampire… who repeatedly choked Julia, bit Maggie and beat Willie with his cane! A timeless classic
I was scared to death of Angelique before it was even cool!
they're coming to get you barbara
1,500 fan letters a day for him. Wow.
I read somewhere, that in the script, Romero was planning on having Ben commit suicide by state troopers, supposedly Ben got bit in the arm by the little girl zombie but lost the film in that farmhouse due to a flood. And they just left the ending as is. You can see the girl grab his arm in the film towards the end when the house becomes totally zombie infiltrated. I hope some cast member or writer reads this to put a closure on my curiosity from the clip that I read about a year ago.
Actually it would be '67. I read the movie was filmed a year earlier
I've seen this movie so many times, I lost count. I first saw it in Halloween of 1986, and I was amazed AND scared at the same time.
Was a great fan of GL. Had forgotten about Joan's appearance! Thanks for this great post! Marj Dusay as ALEXANDRA was always my favorite . Would have loved to see Joan, Marj ,and Jeanne Coopers Katherine Chancellor share scenes! 🏆👑.
Johnny was one of the great cynical characters. "We remember. I don't. You know, I don't even remember what the man looks like."
