Where did you get the chrome tank from?
@@martingadd triumph released a line of chrome edition bikes in 2023. This was the scrambler version of the Chrome Edition line.
Yes okay, of course. I wantyto up mine (2019) XE to chrome but can't find any supplier (I'm in the UK). Guess I could get my white one stripped and chromed.
@ I don’t know if Triumph would sell you a chrome tank for a none chrome model. But I’m sure it would be expensive.
I'm 6'1" and I can't even flat foot my 1200XC. I just decided the XE is too high for my needs. I did see a good closeout price on one of these Chrome one's near me now though. The dealer kept dodging my questions about what the dealer's fees are, so I bought an XC from another dealer who shot straight with me.
@@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy good choice to stay away from a sketchy dealer. My inseam is 30”. I recently picked up a pair of Doc Martens Jadon Arc boots. That extra inch in sole thickness has been a game changer for me. Curious, what is you inseam length? I’ve never had a bike that I could flat foot at my height.
My inseam is about 33", I just measured. I buy 34's in jeans.
@ the XC is a quicker handling street bike, so a good choice for predominantly the street. The XE besides having a taller suspension, has a more raked out front end to add stability off road, slowing down the steering quickness. I was planning on running knobbies and taking mine off road, but unfortunately I’ve been having issues with my right hand this year so the smart thing was to stay on the road this year. Maybe next year.
Love the sound OK Eddie. Now down to business H1B 500cc kawasaki how much money for expansion chambers
I have 112.5 main jets and seems about right on my KH500 with Dencos and K&N air filters.
@@guycarlos3169 nice setup. Hopefully the 105’s aren’t too lean with the Higgspeeds and the UNI’s.
I had 105s at first but it would fall flat at full throttle so went up to 112.5s and it did the trick. @@charliestoybox2099
@charliestoybox2099 I had 105s but went up a few more sizes because it falls flat at top end with 105s.
@ appreciate this info. I figured if it ran good on top with the 105’s, I’d still try going richer till she slows down.
@charliestoybox2099 do you mind if I ask what unifilters are you going with? I wanna get a set for my bike.
Lovely Bike, like the paint color. 105 is quit large for a Kh500. Or does it have the larger H2 VM30SC carbs? Don't know what the pilot jet size is, but that also have influence on mixture whole throttle range. What helped for my Kawasaki Z1 and also for Suzuki GT 380 was to check float heights dynamic not only static with a caliper when dissabled floats. Maybe you did, but could try to add a tube to float bowl and measure actual practical fuel level. The four stroke kawasaki mentioned 2,5 to 4,5 mm from surface float bowls down. Have also did this to the 380 and from that always starting with a couple of kicks when stayed in garage for weeks. To heigh fuel level in floatbowl enrich whole throttle spectrum but still not to high to overflow outside the carbs. Maybe it could help your great bike riding little bit better!
@@Alexie3333 the stock air intake system on the KH models are extremely restrictive. Stock jetting is so lean that if you remove the intake boots the bike will die. Going up to 35 pilots from the 32’s really improves the way the bike runs. The bike runs even stronger by using 95’s over the smaller mains that were in there. I just need to drop the needle one more notch to clean up that one spot. Now the reason I’ll be swapping in 105’s is that I’ll be switching to pods which flow more air than the factory system. It’s always wise to go up about 10 jet sizes to make sure you’re not lean. If too rich, I’ll slowly lean it out 1 jet size at a time.

Sorry to be pedantic, but that is not an H1. The last model of the H1 was the H1F which came out in 1975. The 1976 model was named the KH500. It had significantly less power than the H1 models.
@@worldofameiso5491 and I could also say the H1’s are not really H1’s but Mach lll’s as that’s what the side cover say lol. But here’s an interesting tidbit for you, the ‘76 KH 500 vin number starts of with “H1F”. So it’s a castrated H1F that the power is regained by removing the intake snorkel, rejetting, and freeing up the exhaust. It’s the same H1F engine attached to the newer transmission. But seriously, it doesn’t matter as long as we keep enjoying them.

@@stevehopkinson4871 his faq page mentioned dropping the needle one or two spots for mine. Also he was running 112 mains to my 105’s.
I had a KH500, which was ported to the extreme, perhaps too much, as it had nothing whatsoever below 3,000 RPM when pulling away from a standstill. However, I do recall the alternative method of regaining the lost performance from the earlier models was to fit pistons with shorter skirts. My own bike was very powerful when in the upper rev ranges but it was an absolute pain to ride in town. Better to go with the shorter pistons, snorkel removal and upjetting. I had a pair of Koni shocks at the back and preloaded the front springs with a couple of bits of old cut up handlebar. Ohlins it certainly was not ! I'm not sure whether the gearbox internal ratios were changed from those of the first models. I do recall my bike, fitted with an OE fitment 16 tooth front sprocket was showing 110 MPH bang on the red line in top gear, wheras I've seen several tests of earlier bikes, even down to the H1E and H1F which showed nigh on 120 MPH at the red line. I do recall being pretty gutted at the lost top speed, albeit my tuned bike got there very rapidly. Best regards from Wales.

For the use of these bikes and the likelihood of being on its side, or peppered by rocks off road, I decided that painting was the best choice as it would be easy to touch up on the bike. Not so with powder coating. I washed the guards off with soap and water to degrease them. Then I hung them up and heated them up with a heat gun. While they were warm, I sprayed them with Krylon satin black. 1,100 miles and still look great. I’ve been riding and racing for over 40 years, so taller bikes aren’t an issue for me to adjust to. If you have any dirtbike experience, you will already be used to side shifting your bum to get a foot down on the ground. I’d definitely suggest throwing a leg over the XE before buying to see how comfortable you’d feel with the height. One thing to remember is that the showroom height is going to be lower than the height once you set up your preload properly. At 163 in my birthday suit, I added ten turns of preload to the front, and zero preload to the rear. That extra preload raised the ride height even more.
