Shoegazer 93
Приєднався 12 жов 2012
The channel that celebrates itself. Shoegazer93 is dedicated to keeping the spirit of guitar effects combined with interesting song craft alive. A genre that impacts the soul without saying much. Emotion and imagination in sonics. It is impressionism and surrealism all at once. Shoegaze has a wide spectrum from the hypnotic fuzzed up My Bloody Valentine to the powerful ambience of Slowdive to the dance rhythm of Curve and Seefeel to the psychedelic modulation and melodic familiarity of Ride, Lush and Chapterhouse. the style is very open. It is the dreamy sonics, production and the will to experiment whilst still retaining a sense of pop/ rock melody that combines them all. Welcome to my world. Hopefully it can be your world too

I've only just seen this. I guess that I should really get my arse in gear and get some of the many others that I've digitised from Dan's collection, up online.

This is the dumbest shit i've ever fucking heard.

Great news!
Imagine thinking Tarantula is a bad album. Ugh 😑 shame even Ride said that. It’s a wonderful album. Went with the time and you had to listen to it in that time.

Thanks for the shout out Gentlemen! Gravity Grave and Let the Damage Begin are 100% in the set ✌️😎

Yes! Good to know deeper cuts are being played. Appalachian Springs from 'Forth'. Another shout for ya! 😅
@shoegazer93 also in the set, one of THE most underrated Verve songs. Incredible tune 🙌 💥
I was gald to find your video, as I'm hoping to be the happy owner of both these same units in the near future. Thanks for posting!
Hey Shoegazer93. A fellow Brit here! I've been offered one of these by my bro who used to work for EMI at Abbey Road Studios. I'm a guitarist and music produce and don't normally use compressors like that. I generally use tiny stomp pedal versions and plugins on my DAW, but since he offered it to me for free, how could I say no? ;) . I'm not sure yet how I will make use of it, but it does look like a cool unit (even though quite old, now). Are you finding it useful?
Its a great unit mate :) Been using it as a limiter for loud expansive Shoegaze guitars and it does the job of keeping it all below 0dbfs consistently. You can drive guitars and vocals hard. I'm sure it's great for drums as well although I haven't tried that. There's a nice selection of modulation effects onboard too such as flanger, phaser, tremolo. However, the parameters of these cannot be adjusted as much as I would like. The delay possibly being the most restrictive. But plenty of reverb options as you would expect. Happy utilising and thanks for commenting! :)
radiohead are very posh but in the end boring as fuck
AI will never replace live performances. Might affect streamed music, but not live.
What is the name of this song?
😅🙌🏾
And AI will never beat the magic of live music either
beautiful. i just picked one up super impulsively, cant wait for it to come in omg
i'll play around with this , i have presonus as well
jonny doing that is everything wrong that feels good in this world
Fascinating. Lots of technical stuff musicians have to consider. Makes me appreciate their craft more 🙌
Thanks. You'll like my next video
Thank you for standing on the right side of politics too. I've seen you follow Paul Thorpe :)
@shoegazer93 Hey there! 😃. Paul Thorpe is a great channel 👍. I hope your channel goes well, too! 🫶 I see the horrors have a new album out (4 tracks). Is going well with their new female band member who replaced keyboards 🙌👍

Happy new year Sam, hope you had a good Xmas. That looks like a good compilation there, I remember a very shoegaze comp I’ve had in my collection a while it’s best of independent twenty from-early nineties verve lush chapter house slowdive curve boo radleys etc just missing some kod I guess🙂👌🎉
Dude London Manchester and the rest of city are full of Political B.S like promoters politics with the music industries, believe me I've DJ-ed and performed down London isn't a luxury it can be very pretentious.I took most of my music off Spotify very recently too. music wise I think you need to experiment with music than just play shoegaze like drone ambient and electronic like LFOs, unit racks and groovebox like I do. as for being sign on major label, that wouldn't solve the problem either, I think the only indie label that's going strong today is Fierce Panda

Thank you so much for this wonderful video! :) Hearing all of this detail, about how the album was created, makes me love it even more! 🤍 I often wondered if The Smashing Pumpkins had been one of the inspirations for A Storm In Heaven :) Back in '93, when I was 16, I would listen to Gish, A Storm In Heaven, and Suede's debut album all in a row, most days 🤍 This video was fascinating! ^_^

A Storm In Heaven is the best album of 1993 & one of the Top 10 albums of the 90's. A terrific debut & full credit due to John Leckie for perfectly capturing their unique sound. A perfect album.
For me, too, A Storm In Heaven is one of the best albums of the '90s 🤍 What is your favourite song on that album? Mine is Already There ^_^
