In the middle of nowhere and someone just rocks up and starts filming and walking through your camp.
?
Numerous camp sites there and public access to the river. We had also spoken to the people camped there prior to filming. Please get the correct facts before making derogatory comments. Thank you
@@ausventurebound Derogatory? ok precious.
Love Sandon, used to go camping on the north side 40 years ago, every time i drive up that way now and see that "Volcano" shaped mountain/hill near Brooms from the highway i feel like i'm home.
Yes, no question it is a very special place mate. They talk about our indigenous having strong ties to their own country, well, so do we!
What river is that??
That is the Nambucca River system - NSW
hi, looks like glamping tents?
No tents for us mate. Sleeping in the Ute.
Lovely ep and nice fish
The dragyla water strip😊😊😊
Great video mate, thanks for sharing. Showed our support 👍
Great video! Thank you!
Lovely
awesome little clip. 👌
90cm that's unreal.
The bet fish in that video was 93 Rod.
Hi , I’m big Luke, can you send me any info on your little composite tinny please?
Hi Luke, sadly the manufacturer that made my car topper shut up shop and doesn't make them anymore. I also understand that Cross Country boats (another fibreglass car topper builder) has also closed their doors. I really don't think that has left any others aside from alloy boat builders. Hope you enjoyed our video. Regards, Scott
great film,what combo you using
Hi, we are using mainly 3000-4000 size threadline outfits for most of this fishing. Usually 20lb braid, not that it's needed for fatties, but the reel and rod and line are very similar to what we use for offshore snapper soft plastic fishing. We use this slightly heavy gear as it handles the big lures much better. We do use Barra bait caster style outfits for some lures as well. Hope that helps
One day I'll reach the elusive 1m mark 🤞 hopefully sooner with a few of these tips. You get a sub from me mate
Thank you mate
Many thanks mate
Wow What a awesome ep and unreel fish Gents, So sad you lost your Dad, I lost my best mate and Dad 16 years ago now,
Thanks mate. yeah, we only get one dad. Really glad you liked the vid mate.

Thank you mate. Yes I have been told that from a few people👍
Lovely Ep and Fish dishes
3r😂😊
Looks good Scott, I am going to try with Longtail.
I reckon that would be awesome mate! I love longtail tuna!
Try this, Tuna confit. Dry marinate the the best part of filet with 2 parts sugar, 1 part salt. Wash and dry, cover with "good" olive oil and spices of choice (garlic / chilli etc.) a couple of bay leaves, cover(baking paper will do) and cook at about 55 degrees for 45-60minutes. Keep refrigerated and keep your fingers out when serving. Fridge shelf life of weeks. I use an old Crock Pot to cook. You will probably never eat canned Tuna again. @@ausventurebound
Will do for sure mate. Should get a long tail in the next few weeks!@@stephenbolin

We're building a single cab now so some great info and advice there. We'd love to see a vid on the Exploroz Traveller mapping when you get a chance.
Cool setup. Bet you hate it when you get a puncture. Perfect example of everyone's needs a different. Theres no perfect setup thats superior to someone elses. I have a similar but also quite different setup on my 200 series. At the end of the day we all still get to fish.😊 Cheers paul
PLEASE NOTE: You will need a permit from the National Parks and Wildlife Service if you want to take a dog into Sandon Village. You will also need to be aware of where dogs are and are not allowed. Significant fine apply if you do not adhere to this!
Thanks Scott, have an old buddy that.likes exploring. I told him about this place, sharing the video for him to watch is perfect. 👍🏼
He will love it mate! Very special place.

Cracking Ep and awesome Spot and fish thanks for sharing, Gee them Snapper and Pearlies take me back to when I was a pro line fisherman with my dad and brother, And then I did it with my own gear off and on with farming small crops and cattle for around 35 years all up together, Now I am just a rec fisho and live in near Cooroy QLD.
Glad you are enjoying our adventures mate. Got a lot of things coming up that I'm keen to share.
Thanks mate, very helpful
Lovely river, thanks for sharing!
Thank you mate, yes, a pretty special river - particularly up high.
Have finally had the time to binge watch the last few episodes of your outstanding Cape York series Scott! Congrats on a terrific series you have put together, simply outstanding! I’m born & bred on the mighty Macleay just south of your home base. I’ve never been to the tip, cape tribulation is as far north as I’ve been. Flew up to cairns a few years ago & absolutely fell in love with the area around port Douglas, Mossman & the Daintree. Cape Yorke looks like a place that dreams are made of. Thanks Scott for providing some magnificent inspiration!
Hi Mark, your appraise and encouragement is very much appreciated. We've been travelling this great country for almost 4o years now and simply can't get enough of it. I aim to keep doing it and hopefully capturing the wonder in our videos. Yes, The Cape is a place that adventurers dreams are made of. Just need to get away from the main crowds in the peak travel season, but that's pretty easy. Please share our channel and vids far and wide. We are trying to build our channel. Many thanks, Scott
@@ausventurebound thanks again Scott, I can’t wait for the next one on Sandon river, what a special place that is! It was great to actually meet you in person in Mo tackle earlier this year. Thanks again for your great content!
Lovely Ep and fish Guys, Penny is the bom My favourite spot on the Cape been going there 25 years now I was there for a few weeks till end of May nearly, must of just missed you, the Fingermark this year offshore around 10ks was mind blowing up to 75cm just left them biting every trip, The best Ive ever struck up there, I be back next year for 8 weeks if its open
Thanks heaps mate. Pity we missed you! Yes, it's a pretty special place. They are sensational those big fingermark!
I went up to Nhulunbuy in early April this year to visit my mate, lovely spots up there but it was blowing 25 knots we caught a few trout and mixed reef fish but was hard going in the wind, so I came back to the Cape to Penny to me just the best spot. The NT not my cup of tea i love the Cape , @@ausventurebound
Great trip, Scott! A couple of those creek crossings were “interesting” to say the least!
As soon as I drive south of Mareeba I start missing The Cape mate. What a playground!
