I remember getting into Castlevania this past year and booting up SOTN like "alright let's see what all the hype was about" and was immediately greeted with this.

It’s 2024 and this track is still hard as fuck. Pure power metal on a PS1, easily reminds me of bands like Gamma Ray, Halloween and Stratovarius!

I used to just let the console running to hear the song while I'd do my schoolwork. Then I'd beat the game for the "whatever" time in 3-4 hours. Good days. One day I found out people do it in under 30 mins... wtf.

This is supposed to be a remix of Poison Mind, because Poison Mind is used in the final stage of Castlevania Rondo of Blood.

Such an underrated song since a lot of folks might think it's just a 20 second loop but... from the beginning through three loops the guitars wail more every time, and then on the final ~1:08 if you can hear it there is a baroque mirror of the lead guitar that plays counterpoint until they all scream. And that is where it actually loops. I love the SotN soundtrack but for what should be a throwaway track you hear for maybe a minute it is expertly crafted. Yamane Michiru is a top tier composer.
