Best programs of 2022- 2023 | Figure Skating
Переглядів 1 тис.Рік тому
These are the best choreographed programs of 2022- 2023. I think a good choreography is the perfect match between skater, difficulty and performance. Additionally, it hides skaters weaknesses and enhance a skater's qualities. I didn't include any Ice Dance Programs because... I don't watch it. There were amazing performances such as Kaori Sakamoto, Junwhan Cha and Riku Miura/Ryuichi Kihara for ...
What a GREAT skating channel. THANK YOU!!! ❤
Aww! Thank you!
your moment about Mr. Kagiyama made me tear up. i'm so glad to find a quality FS channel thank you!
Thank you for the kind words! ❤
Where do you watch Japan Nationals from
@ moozuru uploaded most of the performances on Twitter! 🙌
You have such an adorable personality. I enjoy your videos and agree with your opinions especially about judging.
Nobunari attending the Nationals is so Texas Polar Bear coded moment 😂 but I'm happy to seeing him on the ice again after SO LONG 😂
What he did was beyond impressive!
i’m so glad that people are boarding the yunasumi train!!! i watched their season debut at john nicks, and was like… wow those lifts are Great (and i used to get scared for their lifts last season, or even two season ago when sumitada did JGP with his previous partner haruna murakami). i even checked the sp protocol for everyone on that event to confirm that i was not biased (bc i do love japanese pairs no matter what they put out lol). they lost a level so didn’t get highest total GOE, but i believe they have the highest mean GOE, so i’m glad they’re being rewarded for it even amongst more experienced pairs team🥰
That's what we're calling them? That's so cute! 💖 If they go clean, they could easily break top 10 at 4CC this season. I'm excited!
@ it is!! and yeah hopefully they have a great 4cc and worlds🥰
I really love attitude and how you give your opinions, it's so fun and cute! I love Nobunari Oda! I'm so happy he did well. I know he doesn't have ISU points anymore, but I really wish they could have sent him to Four Continents. I really think it would be good motivation for the others if Old man Oda were assigned 4CC. My favorite program of his is a Charlie Chaplin LP he did. I'm glad I'm not the only one who are enamored by Nagaoka and Moriguchi's lifts. The speed in which the lifts maintain and come out of are truly mesmerizing. I'm so used to not as experienced pairs skaters come out of a lift at like a full stop. I think if they can get their jumps and twist to triples, they'll be a top-tier team.
Thanks for the sweet words! I appreciate them ❤ I wished they had assigned them to 4CC as well, I wonder if they asked him if he'd be willing to work for the minimums or if they just chose the team based on the youngsters
Yuma’s father is usually stoic in the kiss and cry. His heart must be bursting with pride for his son.
That's exactly what got to me 😭
Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence 💝
I hope Kao does well!!!
😥
Rino’s FS is my favourite ladies program in the last 5 years!! 😍
The criteria is only for getting into the pool to be selected. It doesn't matter how many criteria, as long as you have one. The one with the biggest weight by far is podium at Nationals. Kaori is the only woman who is safe for sure. If Mone doesn't podium and the other top girls do, she won't bump Higuchi, and she would have to be close behind Hana or Rino to maybe bump them. But that also depends where Shimada finishes. Mone had a very good year, but not alot better than the others. She also doesn't have alot of big pressure experience. She was a surprise at a poorly skated Nationals last year and wasnt the main girl at World's. GPF was a warmup for Nationals. But she was consistent this year and JSF clearly is behind her and her coach has clout. She should get generous scoring, so she should probably just have to avoid major mistakes to be ok.
I love your humorous but insightful commentary 😊 Regarding the team for Worlds, actually it’s not how it works. JSF announces the criteria to make the Worlds team at the beginning of the season, and last week JSF released the names of skaters who fulfill the criteria. Winner at Nationals gets a ticket automatically, 2nd & 3rd place will be up against the fore said named skaters. FYI for men Yuma 1st, Shun 2nd in every criteria. Shun only has to skate at Nationals and he’s practically promised a spot. Yuma doesn’t even need to go to Nationals because there’s a clause that any skater that medaled in Worlds has a bye if the skater can’t participate Nationals due to injury or sickness. So it’s a bloodbath for one ticket, which by far is an equal tie between Sota and Kao. If both blotches, Kazuki, Koshiro medals, it would be a debate between four of them. Nobody else has a chance besides a win. Same for the women, Kaori & Mone has a spot, it’s a competition for the remaining one ticket. The 4CC team is a wider range of skaters, and there’s the Winter Asian Games less than a week prior so the team is likely not going (Yuma,Shun, Kaori, Hana) to 4CC.
Hi again, I admit my mistake in the Men’s selection. But I must say that Tatsuya making the team wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card. One bronze on the GP, which was the only assignment he got, and a bronze at the Nationals, never competed at a Championship event on the senior level, but assigned to the Worlds that defines the number of Olympic slots???? Are they serious???? The JSF must have absolute trust in Yuma & Shun.
Hello! Do you know where to watch the japanese nationals? I know is pretty hard 😅
Hi! If you wanna watch it live you'll need a VPN otherwise some accounts on Instagram like "skatejapanews" and on twitter "skatingarchive" usually post some of them. It's really hard to watch the whole thing though :(
@ ok I will check them out! Thank your for the information
idk if this will sound dumb but what's with the mie hamada hate? (genuinely asking i have no clue what's going on lol)
No worries! Better to ask than not knowing 🙃 She's the Eteri from Japan. One of her skaters issued a complaint (?) about her abusive behaviour and most famously Hamada would divulge rumours that Marin Honda was lazy and pushed Rika Kihira to practice on an injury. Very psychologically and verbally abusive while putting a facade of a supporting coach
@@EdgesAndBladesI’m afraid that’s not true. Ms. Hamada does not abuse her students nor turn a blind eye nor play a role in doping her students like Eteri-allegedly. It was Nobunari Oda who was a rookie coach at the time, blamed & sued her for his mental struggles. Everything should have been discussed/ handled at the University & Rink, not in court. Oda even used the media to have upper hand which backfired tremendously because Ms. Hamada counter-sued for defamation and won. Marin was famous for skipping lessons & randomly changing choreography in her program that lead to losing levels etc. Never heard of pushing Rika. Hamada is a compassionate coach who cares for skaters other than her team, often seen chatting with them.
@@mayamae55 I much rather listen to those who have come out as victims than the alleged perpetrator 🤷♀
@@EdgesAndBladesMs. Hamada hasn’t said a thing about it in the media. Only Oda went out to the media and called himself victim and nobody else. Sadly Japanese culture is behind Western culture and anything that can bring down a woman in power, they will. And the Japanese moms are fierce in protecting their children. If they sense abuse in Hamada, they will take action. But young up-and -coming skaters relocate across the country to attend Hamada’s academy including coaches. People’s actions is the proof.
@@mayamae55 Mie hamada was exposed for screaming at and physically beating her students. Grabbing their ponytails and slamming them up against the boards. She's emotionally and physically abusive. Satoko was supposed to testify but she was silenced by Mie and her power. Oda was victim who didn't have enough power to fight against Kinoshita's top coach Mie Hamada. Take your lies elsewhere. Mie is an abuser and your excuses for her will not change what happened to ODA or the girls she beat up
Agree with your World Team from 🇯🇵- thank you for this video
Thank you for watching ❤
It feels incredibly unfair to choose between such amazing skaters. I wish we could see them all again at Worlds 🤧
1:50 isu livestream chats are so brutal 😢
They are! I wish there were more people loving the sport instead of just hating on it. I like the tomatoes on some skaters but some comments... leave a lot to be desired 🥲
how do you feel about your podium predictions for men's single skating 😂
Well... expected lol
"Silver Prince" is brutal but it's true 😭😭
I wish it wasn't true 🥲
Ilia has now said that he will do the quad axel!
:O
"Strengths: The judges" had me on the floor lmaoo
Mone reminds me of Yuzuru a lot
Definitely lives up to being "Yuzuru's little sister"
Sorry I'm new to the channel - why do you dislike Kevin?
Welcome to my channel <3 His coaches were involved in covering up the sexual misconduct of Morgan Cipres and went as far as intimidating the minor involved. Kevin has deleted comments asking him to leave Fontana/Zimmerman and has defended their character in several ocassions despite Zimmerman being suspended and Morgan unable to enter the USA (cause he'd be arrested)
@EdgesAndBlades thanks for letting me know! I'm not up to date with these news so it's good to know.
@@EdgesAndBlades Coaches in figure skating have more power than skaters, so I see this as more of a reason to dislike Kevin's coaches than Kevin himself. There's always the chance that they told him to delete those comments.
I love torgashev❤
Same! He's growing on me everyday!
Thank you a lot for this. I never really precisely thought about strengths & weaknesses of each player.❤
Thank you for watching <3
@EdgesAndBlades my pleasure :D I'm glad I found your channel!!
I'm with you about Berulava's remarks about his previous partner. In my opinion, Metelkina, his current partner, is the better skater and the main reason for their success.
I agree that as a team they're better and stronger. I'm just afraid for his partners all the time, every time they mess up, he seems unable to take accountability for his mistakes and bad-mouths them to the press :(
@@EdgesAndBlades I hear you. Apparently he has a temper and was so pissed after they messed up at Skate America that he refused to go to the mixed zone to talk to the press.
Wow, thanks for this review 🔥 I liked some funny comments while introducing the skaters) Hope this final gonna bring many positive emotions and surprises Btw, do you know the idea behind Metelkina/ Berulava FS? It’s so unusual and makes you perceive the program in different way
I actually have not read it! I'd love if you shared it <3
@@EdgesAndBlades I’ll gladly do it) In this program Luca represents an old man who is about to die, while Anastasia is the death itself, and the program is the whole life of a man that he thinks about before dying and right at the end he dies. At first, I didn’t understand the program at all, but after reading this plot, my impression has changed
Speedy recovery to Maxim, Jun, Adam and Yelim!
Only GPF to go! This will feel like Japanese Nationals part 1. Did all your favourites qualify?
I just saw the possible team up of Weinjing Sui with someone not named Han Cong. I don't know how I feel about that :(
This event shows why I love Kao so much. He still goes for it instead of giving up on the whole thing entirely. Did you see him at the gala going extra hard? I love this man
I have unrealistic hopes for the Japanese women at Finland. I'm really expecting two of them to medal!
Waking up to seeing a full Japanese sweep in men and Women. Do you think they will survive?
Who are you rooting for in Grand Prix de France?
Are you superstious? What are your predictions?
