The Well of Sorrows | Dragon Age Inquisition Playthrough Part 15 | Road to The Veilguard
Thank you so much for dropping by! 💞✨
Journey with me through the incredible series so close to my heart, Dragon Age. Out of the 3 games, I've played Inquisition the most, but this time we are gearing up for the release of The Veilguard! It has been a while, so there are some things I don't remember completely, which makes it even more exciting. Though, even the familiar gives me the same feeling I had each time that I played in the past. I can't wait to share these moments together!

I’m Actually SHOCKED | Dragon Age: Origins Playthrough Part 18 | Road to The Veilguard
Temple of Mythal is so good as an elf character!! Also brining sera and solas is fun too! After the mission my inquisitor told sera to respect my elf heritage or F off!! I also drank from the well of sorrow.☺️
dont you have all the dlc ?? if so you have a whole other storyline coming up after this anyway !
Played through this game multiple times haven't played origins and 2 yet
You're in for a treat, then! It's going to be so exciting playing them for the first time!
Any woman playing Inquisition must feel like the most beautiful girl on this planet by comparison. Like female soldiers on deployment.
What class/race are you going to choose for your first playthrough of Veilguard? I think I’m going with male elf mage because I’m hoping being an elf opens extra dialogues with the elven gods!🤩
Yesss, that's an awesome choice! For race, I always go with elf!! I've played as a human in Origins and Inquisition before and it just felt wrong for me 😅 I’ve had SUCH a hard time choosing my class for The Veilguard, though. They all genuinely look fun to play. I love a classic warrior and that's usually what I go with first, but I also know I would enjoy everything about the rogue, but then the mage looks super cool, and I’d love to use the Spellblade specialization.
@@LuminEskaGaming Same I always go elf. My favorite was in DA orgins the city elf orgin! Yes I’m going for the spell blade for sure! I’d say try the classes out in the tutorial part and then choose your favorite one!
Dragon Age Inquisition is an incredible game!
I completely agree!! I think it's one of those beloved, timeless games that will be replayed by many for decades to come!
Damn I miss playing Inquisition! It’s my most played game on PS4 with 1.5k hrs lol who are going to romance?
1.5k hours!! That's amazing haha. It's so easy to get immersed in its world. I always romance Cullen, I can't help it 🥰 I haven't explored any of the others - I should check them out sometime to see what they're like. Do you have a favourite romance?
@@LuminEskaGaming Yeah!! Tbh I don’t even know how I got that many hrs lol nice Cullen is awesome! Initially it was Sera, but her personality is tough to like, so my favorite is Cassandra she’s such a sweetheart and strong person overall perfect fit for inquisitor.☺️
@@Jaco._. I love that! Cassandra is sweet, isn't she? We really get to see her personality shine through more and more when interacting with her. ☺
Play how you want to, but why skip dialogue in a game and a mission built around it? Your right but, seems a compromised experience.
You're absolutely right, it is a compromised experience, and it's not something I normally do. I only skipped dialogue because I've played this game multiple times before, and I wanted to play through the series again for a quick recap before The Veilguard comes out. I'm starting The Veilguard the day it comes out, so I was on a time crunch. :)
who are ya romancing ?
Cullen!! 😍🥰
Do you have a favourite character to romance?
@@LuminEskaGaming Cullen is a pretty good romance !
Lol I've been playin through Inquisition as well. Def will subscribe and watch your veilguard content.
Awesome, thanks so much! Happy to have you here!! 🥰
So Hyped for Veilguard!
I'm so glad!! Can't wait to hear what you think about it! ☺
hello, will you play veilguard... ? or NOT ?
boycott please, my dear. Dont ruin your love for this game
I will be playing The Veilguard! I am very skeptical, worried, and I don't have high expectations. That said, I also want to give it a chance. My curiosity is stronger than my anger/fear about what we've learned so far. In the worst case scenario, it will be a flop or won't feel like a Dragon Age game. And if that's the case, then I just won't think about it as part of the series! Nothing can or will ever ruin my love for the other games. ☺
Bad influence.
I really love the rogues in Inquisition. Their mobility and class specialties make them the most enjoyable class, in my opinion.
Yess, exactly! We share that opinion! I was pleasantly surprised by it, the rogue is now my go-to class in Inquisition.
The hard decisions, where you lose companions, and there isn't a good choice, is something i love about this game. A couple things that make the decisions easier. If you have Bethany as your sibling instead of Carver, it's easier to side with the mages. Or if Carver is a templar, it's easier to side with them. And at the end of the day, you have the same two boss fights, so it's not like you actually miss out on much.
Absolutely!! The hard decisions make it feel so real, so involved and connected. That's a huge part of why these games are so impactful. It gives even more meaning to the story and characters, and makes the player think and experience different perspectives. As much as I hate making the decisions because they can be so difficult, I also love it for that same reason. It gives it an inherently human touch that is so heart wrenching and beautiful.
Its kinda funny, but I have the same name as your cat, just a slightly different version! It has Greek roots, but it changes a bit depending on the country 🙂
Oh no way! Haha, it's a great name!!
"Thanks! 😊 It’s actually a pretty common name in Eastern Europe, where Greek culture has had a big influence. It’s linked to Demeter, the goddess of harvest and fertility, and I’ve always liked that a guy’s name could be dedicated to a goddess. It’s pretty cool! 😄
@@amazingspacedream That is super cool! I love Europe & European cultures. And it's always fascinating to learn the history and meaning behind everything!
Who is your favourite DA:I companion? 👇
Congrats on your new playthrough! ☺ I'm really glad to see you so happy, it's clear how much you love this part of the Dragon Age series ❤
Thank you!!! 🥰There's something about Origins and Inquisition, they really make me feel a zest for life. I'm glad that it shows now, too - I'm not super comfortable in front of the camera, but I'm feeling more free to express/be myself as I get used to it. Playing Dragon Age as my first set of videos has definitely helped with that!
I'm so happy to hear that you're feeling more comfortable and free in front of the camera! 😌I really love seeing your emotions shine through, and it's wonderful that you're able to be yourself. It's also been a pleasure returning to the Dragon Age universe, and I'm glad I get to do it alongside you. You're doing an amazing job, and it's a joy to watch your journey! ☺
@@amazingspacedream That means so much to me, I really appreciate it!! 🤗
side with mages always there is no world in which siding with the templars is right or good
I do wish mages were treated better and were respected more!
Do you prefer to side with the mages, or the templars?
Your sub count's shootin up. You deserve it!
Thank you!! I am so excited for the future of this channel and to see where it goes and how this community grows. And very grateful for your support! ☺
Thank you so much for the playthrough! I really enjoyed it ❤ I know Dragon Age 2 received some criticism, but this game is still close to my heart. The characters are just amazing - their emotions, backstories, and how they connect with each other really made the game special for me 🙂
Thank you so much for being here!! I'm so glad, and it's really nice to hear how much this game means to you. Although I still don't feel as connected to this one as much as the others, I'm happy I got to experience it again and gain a new perspective about it. I'd like to spend more time with it in the future. I was surprised at how much some of the characters grew on me this time around! ☺
I had a similar experience during my first playthrough of Dragon Age 2, when I didn’t really care about most of the characters, but on my second playthrough, I felt connected to each of them. Maybe except for Fenris - he’s just too angry for me. And I still don’t understand Anders' reckless decision. I really like Bethany and Merrill - they’re such sweet characters, and the banter between Isabella and Aveline always made me smile. And I love Varric’s optimistic approach 🙂
@@amazingspacedream I love that! Merrill totally captured my heart. I miss them, now! It's so much fun to see & hear them all interact.
Do you know what I’ve been thinking about today? How much I want to replay the Dragon Age series 😊 It’s totally your influence, but I’m not complaining! You reminded me just how much I love this series ❤
@@amazingspacedream 🥺Oh my goodness, this makes me SO happy and made my day! 😭I hope you're able to find some time to revisit this series and immerse yourself in its world and rediscover all of the joy and warmth and feelings it brings 💕
It's been a decade since I last played Dragon Age, but just hearing the menu music takes me right back 🥲 Such an amazing game ☺
Aahh the menu music is so impactful, isn't it? Playing again after so many years has made this game even more special!!
Absolutely! The Dragon Age theme is so powerful 🥲 If only I had more time, I'd replay all the BioWare games - so many warm memories 😊
"A warehouse again?" Literally the worst part of the game. At least you don't have to worry about missing secret rooms after you figure out the map layout in act 1
😂very true!
Whats his name? Such a good lil dude, just chillin haha
His name is Dmitri! 🥰 He is very sweet but usually only sits with me for a few minutes at a time, so this was totally unexpected.
@@LuminEskaGaming Dmitri is also a DragonAge 2 fan apparently 😋
@19:25, ❤
Thank you for this timestamp! 😭Seeing Alistair was such a happy surprise!!
@@LuminEskaGaming as was seeing you smile big at the moment
One thing about keeping Fenris in your party, he will absolutely keep you feeling pity towards your other party members. He's absolutely ruthless, and I'm for it.
"He thinks *I* am interested in him" "what an idiot" 😅 nice lil exchange haha
Veilguard isnt Dragon Age, its more Saints Row reboot.
I am concerned about The Veilguard not feeling like Dragon Age, but really hoping they prove us wrong!
@@LuminEskaGaming yeah, glad to see another fan is aware of the tonal shift in the new game. The previews for the game says it plays more like God of War rather than Dragon Age which is not what we want.
@@LuminEskaGaming regardless, this is one of my favorite series of all time, and nothing will change that at this point, regardless how VG turns out (hoping for the best though)
@@purefoldnz3070 God of War?! That's quite the difference. I love God of War, but I agree, it's definitely not what we want for DA.
@@Bignuke87 100000000%. I've seen a few people who are saying The Veilguard has ruined the entire series for them and they won't even play anymore, which is absolutely ridiculous. The games were special then, are special now, and always will be. Nothing can taint this series for me.
Audio is so low I have to turn it up all the way to barely hear u. 😢
Ive been using my headphones so wasnt an issue, but just checked and I agree.
Thank you for this feedback! I'm always worried about the sound and finding a good balance. I edit with headphones, so I'll make sure to double check the audio without them as well. I do have a bunch already edited and scheduled, so I'll see what I can do about those. And will do this for videos moving forward!
Still no happy endings. This game really breaks the standard RPG mold, though, and while it may take away from the experience a little bit, it is nice not to have the standard, my player is an absolute legend that can impact and control every part of the world around me. I hope they do something similar with Veilguard, and Rook isn't just another Inquisitor.
I respectfully disagree, as "happy" is greatly subjective. I was satisfied with my Hawkes arc in DA2. I would also argue that this series helped create the mold, rather than break it. We havent seen anything innovative in the fantasy rpg realm since from a western dev (IMO), unless you count eso online as a multiplayer trad fantasy rpg.
@@Bignuke87 I was specifically watching the part where Hawke finds her mother when I wrote no happy endings. And this game does not fit the mold created by Origins, and taken over the top like Inquisition did with it. You're not a being with god like influence over the whole world. You're a person that worked their way into a position of influence through perseverance, even though it meant losing your entire family along the way. I was not criticizing DA2, I was complimenting it because they went this route, instead of the route inquisition took where you have to micromanage every aspect of every area of the game, as well as do all the adventuring. DA2 is much easier to get into actually role playing because of the lack of control you are given over the existing world
@@danielwise5998 thats because Inquisition at one point they wanted to make an online game? Haha. I enjoyed each Dragon Age, but its amazing how much better 2 looks now in retrospect compared to when it came out. I didnt think the best star wars movies we'd still have since the og trilogy would be the prequels, but yet thats still the case in 2024. I never wouldve guessed my favorite dragon age game would still be Origins at this point, either. Heres hoping veilguard pulls a miraclr
@@Bignuke87 Origins was a masterpiece, but like you, I'm surprised it's still my favorite game in the series. Honestly, Veilguard is set up to rival it. If they allow you to choose which one you start in, it would bring back the different starter stories. The new combat is a huge change, but without being able to control other party members, I suspect we will have to rely heavily on preset tactics, which was another great aspect of Origins. But truthfully, if they do a great job with story telling, and I don't have to spend a ton of time around a war table, I'll be happy
@@danielwise5998 I actually enjoy the war table operations! But there were quite a few times in DAI where I was questioning why *I* was the one making the decision. The Inquisitor was a leader with power and control, but shouldn't have had THAT much say in everything. It didn't always make sense.
Impressive strategy! Keep pushing.
❤
I absolutely hate the carver choice. Either you end up being the reason he joins the templar's, dies or joins the grey wardens. There's just no happy endings
Ugh there really are no happy endings! I figured Carver becoming a Grey Warden was the best out of them, but even then... nobody wins, here.
Interesting, you're the second person to ignore the profit dialogue with the Arishok I've seen. You actually get paid if you say something.
Ahh yeah, now that I'm looking back, it definitely feels in-character for Hawke to go with the profit dialogue. It just wasn't an option that felt natural for me to say, as myself. I felt a little more free in this playthrough to go with a different personality since I didn't connect with Hawke very much, but still didn't go all the way with that. Gives me ideas for next time!
Epic play! Keep doing it.
Thank you so much!
I'm excited to see your take on this game with the background of inquisition and a fresh replay of origins. I remember being disappointed with it when it first came out. But after replaying recently, I loved the way it started with a preview of all the abilities of your class, the way party relationships work, and the fact that your party exists outside of your influence. It's a much more natural, real world feel.
Absolutely, that's a great perspective. This game has definitely grown on me and I can appreciate it more now! Thanks so much for being here and sharing your thoughts! ☺
When you said the 24th you werent joking lol....12:00 on the dot
Haha, yes. I have everything scheduled from now through October, so they'll be coming out more frequently. My goal is to get my first Veilguard video out on November 1st! After that, it'll slow down.
Anyone else feel shocked and hurt by a companion's betrayal? 🙋♀
Do you have a favourite track from the Dragon Age: Origins score? "The Coronation" has always been mine, but there are some close seconds. Links in the description!
And if anyone knows whether the music at 1:17:05 was officially released, or even extracted and uploaded somewhere, please let me know! I've been looking for it everywhere but can't find it on the official soundtrack.
City elf for me
@@lxndrncls57 Love that. Such a great choice!!
I also cried when I finished it the first time, the following ones moved me just as much
Every time, without fail!! These games have my heart, they're so special.
@13:10 noooooo 😢 if you cant resist the temptation to look up thr spoilers, then you should be morally corrupt enough to let Alistair perform the ritual :p
Hahaha okay, okay. To be fair, this wasn't my first playthrough, so technically they weren't *spoilers*, only a refresher about the potential consequences. I knew that if I sacrificed myself, Alistair would have an even worse fate. But I didn't want him to die, either (maybe that's selfish of me?). It's an impossibly difficult choice that I will forever rack my brain over. I just wanted them to be happy :')
@@LuminEskaGaming Ha, touché. My favorite option is to make Loghain do the ritual, problem solved. Edit: thx for the reply, btw! And keep at this!
@@Bignuke87 Ah, except if you're a female warden in love with Alistair - he breaks it off if you spare Loghain! ;) And thank YOU - I love these discussions and hearing people's thoughts and opinions and experiences. That's what I really want for this channel and I'm looking forward to even more of it!
@@LuminEskaGaming now that you mention it, I do remember that. I always played as my own persona, didnt like Loghain, usually romanced Morrigan (I liked that she could "change") and it was always funny to me that to use Loghain for the ritual, if youre romancing Morrigan, youre basically cuckolding yourself, lol...(which is not my persona, so made that particular option really interesting). Edit: have you played the others through once before? Just curious
@@Bignuke87 Oh boy, using Loghain for the ritual and romancing Morrigan would make for a very complicated situation! Haha. I have played DAII once in the past - twice now after my recent playthrough which will be released starting Sept 24. Inquisition I have played multiple times, but it has been a while - my most recent playthrough will be released right after DAII :) I've never played the Awakening DLC, though. so I'll be doing that sometime soon as well.

What choices would you have made in Orzammar? Bhelen vs. Harrowmont? Keep vs destroy the Anvil? Let me know! ↓
@@LuminEskaGaming I always chose to preserve the anvil for the Golem army 😋
@@Bignuke87 The golems are super cool!! I tend to lean toward destroying it, but I remember having them at the final battle in one of my past playthroughs. Maybe next time I'll preserve the anvil again!
@@LuminEskaGaming yeah its definitely a roleplay taking a backseat to gameplay moment, but I did feel a bit bad forcing golems to fight for me :p
@@Bignuke87 Hahah, morality can be so tricky in these games!
Just found your channel but love your content ❤

Origins was so good, but Veilguard though looks absolutely hideous.
I was so shocked and disappointed when the reveal trailer came out. I'm still hopeful they did a good job with the game itself and as a whole, but definitely wary. Only time will tell.
@@nickjordan7945 I'm pretty excited for the updated combat, and I'm hoping the focus is more on tactics ahead of time, like Origins. That's what it looks like, at least. A smaller party, only controlling one character, and relying on tactics setup ahead of time rather than jumping to each player to do everything yourself manually. Inquisition was a severe let down in that area, and I really hope they've corrected that
@@danielwise5998 The combat looks great from what we've seen so far! I'm looking forward to finding out what they've done with it, too.
Ugh, the deep roads. Simultaneously my favorite and least favorite area of the game. Its an absolute nightmare and horror show, but such a fun challenge
Yes!! That's exactly it, couldn't have said it better myself.
Do you take the same companions with you every time, or switch it up?
