While the '82 Euro tour was an extension of the '81 American tour, I always felt that the performances were better for the European audiences. Frank knew that they were really into the music more than the lyrics and the band gave them more "eyebrows" in those performances.

Frank started playing this because in the early 70's the Allman Brothers were the hottest band in the land and people would shout out Whipping Post at his concerts, so he said ok

I saw this tour/lineup back in July of 1984. It was in Berkeley California. Napo Murphy Brock was with Frank then but was let go (for whatever reason). It was my first time eating magic mushrooms prior to the show starting.

Love the way Willie The Pimp was sung and played during this era of Zappa. My favorite version for sure

Look at proud papa Frank holding it down for his son, Dweezil! And Dweez just SHREDDING! I had to go back & rewatch it because i thought he was doing rhythm parts, but those solos were all HIM, except for when daddy had to let him know, near the end! This was epic, the kid was 18 or 19 , & had been learning from the Best his whole life. There's a moment where they're doing sextuplet riffs together, & I thought, "This was a practice exercise they used to run, when D was like 11 years old". 🤣 Great moment in time, Frank had a really advanced almost acoustic effect on his guitar. I'd heard some recordings from this time with Dweezil on the road, but it's nice to see it, even in blurry 80s format. Frank Forever, baby!
