How did you handle the height control?
@fodaodocs the capacitance sensor sending the data ro the amplifier. The amplifier sending the data 0-10v analog to the plasma controller THC. that's pretty much it haha.
@TAMARbarCNC thanks, great project
Well mate, you are now into it. Everything for a great build. Cheers.
@lilow3378 thanks man, how are you? How's your laser is coming?
Another great video. Are you using compressed O2 or Oxygen? thank you sir.
@@lpfdemt I'm using oxygen
@@TAMARbarCNC Thank you Sir
I hope you do a review of the Raytools controller I know you don't have an FSCUT board with Cypcut to compare to but I'm really torn as to what is a better option?
@MyDanglingUnit I will do a full installation video and a tutorial of the software. Regarding which one is better, I can't say for sure, but I can say it is a fact that the raytools controller is half of the price (fscut3000s vs AX3000T)
Please tell me, what are the dimensions of the aluminum profile along the x-axis?"
@@roscombot the whole machine frame is made from 8080 heavy aluminum extrusion. Only the gantry is from 16080 heavy aluminum extrusion
Your English is great! Most people don't even know a second language.
@@PeteBrubaker thanks man I appreciate it
Which brand is better: Max photonics or Raycus?
Not sure, I only used raycus until now
Хм. У меня 3 кВт Maxphotonics.
Nice! I have raycus 2kw. Will probably upgrade to 3kw in the future.
Well done Tamar, have not been able to contact you messenger. Ian.
Im so jealous. Still trying to save for mine 😢
@robbroomfield468 you will get there too my man. I'm really interested to see your build
Exciting...I love new toys day!!! I think we are about on the same timeline, I just got mine mounted and will probably start wiring it tonight.
@diyfiberlaser can't wait for the video of it!
Please go ahead. Thanks for the notes!
Nice job, Tamar! The new front chuck is a big step up from the first version-really clever design! Thanks for the support, and hope you keep having fun with your DIY projects!
@Skyfirelaser thanks I appreciate it! Tomorrow I will receive the packages from you guys, super Excited about the new controller and auto focus head! 🤩🤩
@ enjoy building
Very nice machine! I'm planning to build a similar size table but, I'm wondering if using those over 1kw servo motors are necessary when there's no force cutting through the material as it's the case with a cnc router or milling machine for example. How do you calculate the power size of the motors?
English is my native tongue and you speak atleast as well as most of the people I talk to here brother. I'm jealous of your laser. Cheers
@@purplepenguina.k.a.burlyma6845 thanks man I appreciate it
Thank you for taking the time to share your time and knowledge. I currently have a 4'X8' CNC plasma table I am going to dual purpose with a DIY fiber laser addition. I should be receiving my 1500 watt set up sometime next week. I understand the differences regarding assist gases, but regarding an air compressor, I currently have a 220v / 60 gallon / 155 psi compressor which produces very dry air thank to a great set up. I keep hearing if using an air compressor I need some $5,000 dollar 255 psi compressor for a laser set up. I have high CFM's and my compressor has yet to drop below 100 psi output on the largest of jobs. I do not understand because there is only so much that is going to flow out of the laser nozzle. You may not be able to help me if you use O2 or N2, which I am sure to incorporate later. Just want to get started. Would I be ok with what I have? Thank you so much!
@lpfdemt which controller are you gonna run with the laser? Regarding the air compressor I know that you need at least 10-15 bar compressor for a commercial use! Carbon steel cutting 2mm+ thickness you use Oxygen or air. Lower carbon steel 2mm- thickness you use nitrogen or air. Stainless steel and aluminum you use nitrogen or air.
@@TAMARbarCNC Thank you Tamar, I purchased everything from Sky Fire Laser, which ever controller that is LOL

Nice chuck!...it is clear you put a lot of work into the design, I really like how you added the double rollers and the covers that adjust with them!
@diyfiberlaser thanks man, definitely spent a minute on the design, but the design is the most fun part for me.
Superb
Interesting build. We shared this video on our homemade tool forum last week 😎
Sweet project! Thanks for sharing. Any plans to add an etch function to layout dimensions for mating parts. Like on a tubular frame showing angle, start, stop, and center-line of bents, and exactly where the different pieces line up. Something that would limit the need to manually measure when assembling.
I think this will require a laser head with autofocus
@danp762 soon I will change my controller and the new controller have this functions
@@TAMARbarCNC I find that most of my mistakes are made when I take out a tape measure. :) If you could make it work that would be amazing!
@@ДенисЛапшин-н5с If it isn't possible with the big laser. Maybe add a small laser with a removal mount on the z axis, so it's not getting hit with sparks when the big laser is running. It would be extra work but imagine how much easier assembling the final project would be.
Hey man you are like a hero to me!!!!, can you also do a video on how much you got paid for your laser already?
@darlopbgc9872 I have been gaining this question alot so I will address it in my future video! Thanks for the support!!
what large size bearing is used in the front chuck?
@@ДенисЛапшин-н5с you mean the inner diameter?
@@TAMARbarCNC I meant what bearing is used to rotate this chuck?
@ДенисЛапшин-н5с it's called cross roller bearing

Very cool. How much do you have invested in this now?
Never mind. Finished watching the video and you answered it.
You have created a spectacular resource here in explaining your design choices! I learned more watching a couple of your videos than I did spending weeks on the internet researching 😂 thank you!

Hello Friend, Glad to see your sophisticated Laser machine..! Can You Do a beginner level video as a guide to Mach3 Based CNC Hobbyists? Explaining the differences in the Controllers What are the differences between a plasma cutter Gcode and the same Gcode for a fiber laser machine and how does the controller handles it including any focusing concepts also. I couldnt find any Guided information to step up from CNC Router concept to such a fiber Laser concept. I mean -Example:- We Can Cut a Shape in sheet metal using Mach3 Plasma Machine which uses Z- Strokes to ignite and start the the cut What difference for The Same shape to be cut in Fiber Laser machine...! It Can read Same Plasma Profile Gcode? Or Modifications in post process needed? And How Cutting Commands are outputted by the controller how the focusing concept works and how the controller handles it..etc Whu Mach3 Controller cant be used to build such a cnc fiber laser,...! Thse beginner level doubts remain uncleared..! Still trying to learn..!
@BipinBabu-k4c got it, maybe I will address it in future. I mentioned this in my videos, it you only want to cut sheets then it will be much easier and better! To use raytools xc3000s . He have all the necessary functions for laser cutting and he is not expensive! 500-600usd
Whats the feed rate? Ipm?
@truethinker68 not sure about inch pr minute. But max feed rate, millimeter pr minute is 33,000. It's with 1:10 reducers With the new inovance servos I will be able to go up to 60,000 mpr with 1:5 reducers
Hi Tamas, very impressed. Is there any way to contact you?
@@damirzivkusic9236 my email is in the video description
just out of curiosity, why are you switching from the closed loop steppers to the servos? The tuning situation is exactly why I keep using closed loop steppers. There are a few auto tuning set ups out there, however, trying to tune the dual motor gantry set up keeps me sticking with the steppers. Tuning the servos to almost perfection seems like a difficult process and do you really ever know if they are optimally tuned? How do you know? Great job on this build, can't wait to watch your journey.
@josepatron4950 I switched the stepper because I wanted higher rapids and faster acceleration. The tuning process is difficult not easy if you're not familiar with how the tuning process is done. I can says without a doubt that they are better then close loop stepper by 1,000,000%%% haha
Hello. Can you tell me what software is used for cutting pipes?
@konstantingraphics1806 currently I'm using sheetcam, but I'm in the middle of replacing my controller and it will have a different software by raytools
What power level you need to cut 10mm mild steel? 3KW?
@car9167 technically 1kw but it's not recommended. 2kw is fine. 3kw would be great 👍
@@TAMARbarCNC Thanks for your time to respond. I'm reading elsewhere the laser power sources in general have a life of 30,000 hour. What do you think of that? Have you run your machine for long enough to see degradation? Also if I plan to build a machine like yours you would say it will cost $10,000 to $15,000 or more?
@car9167 I don't notice any degradation In my laser source. The machine similar to mine will cost you probably 20-25k usd
@@TAMARbarCNC Ok. Thanks for letting me know. This is either a very expensive hobby for somebody with money (or a money printing machine in the backyard ) or making money as a business and recovering that cost over time...
