DIY 5 Gallon Oyster Mushroom Bucket Pt. 1
Переглядів 125Рік тому
Aside from foraging for wild mushrooms I like to cultivate my own. Today I’m going to you show how grow your own oyster mushrooms in these 5 gallon buckets. This is how I do it and there are other ways as well but this is another simpler to have fun and grow your own food. Enjoy part one and on the part two we’ll check on the mycelium progress, fruiting & then harvesting. Enjoy the video.
Chantrelles!
Переглядів 163Рік тому
Took the family out to scout our favorite areas for mushrooms & we were surprised that we found any chantrelles due to very little rain this past week. It was a great day to find these edibles and the best part was the hike. Great time! Enjoy the video.

Sand Shrimp Balls To Catch More Perch
Переглядів 346Рік тому
Testing out a new bait setup to catch more perch. Big shout out to Edward at Sportsman Warehouse for sharing his secret tip, this is definitely a keeper trick to keep in your arsenal. It works & everyone should give this a try. I even caught a starry flounder. The highlight of my adventure was meeting a subscriber, this is way better then catching fish. Thanks to all of you subscribers for help...

Made my own soft plastics to test out on the surf!
Is that safe??!!? What about parasites?? Dont you need to cook more or longer????
Great to meet ya at Ft. Stevens. You're making me hungry again!
@@deandiemert8438 It was a pleasure meeting you as well. Love your drone footage!
Take me with next time! 🙌🏻

Good to see you back at it!
Thank you bro! It’s good to be back and looking forward to following on one of your future hunting videos. 🤙🤙🤙
Can children count as a fisherman? 😂
Yup! 😅
@@theadventurefamily761One more question, where did you get that net and the handle at? Thanks bro!
@@Discovery123. I bought this at Fisherman’s Marina in Oregon City.
@@theadventurefamily761 Thank you!
@@Discovery123. I bought the net during their 4th of July sale. It should be coming next week!
cool
Thanks for blowing up spot DB
I've dug for horseneck clams in that exact area some fourty years ago. I discovered that there were small crabs living inside of that long neck of every one that I harvested that day. Have you seen the same thing. It has to be a symbiotic relationship, very cool, and as you said, delicious😋
That's awesome, and reminds me of my grandfather enthusiasm
Compliments like these brings me joy & keeps me going.
If we let this continue there will be no more smelting in the united states. I love smelting in NH but because of over fishing there’s only 1 place left to do it.
We have a limit of 10 pounds per person, only if the smelt run is good.
However, each person needs to be fishing their own catch, not the best fishermen filling up everyone else’s limits….
@@user-cq9bb2uo5e I agree but these good folks didn’t have a net. Helping others sometimes is more rewarding than helping yourself.
been awhile since you upload a video and what happen?
My work schedule has taken up a lot of my time in making some content but I’ll have some videos soon.
@@theadventurefamily761 no problem
So was there two clams at that same spot because I noticed you dug and it appeared one squirted out and then one more squirted to the side of it? do you dig right on top of where you see the show is or do you dig to the side? Also I see a lot of people use the clam tubes but your way looks easier
There were two next to each other in the hole. The horseneck clams are usually at an angle when you dig for them even though the hole looks straight down. The sand at that area was easy to dig through but some spots were more compacted.
very nice, how do you get to the other side?
Nice slabs guess more lure action on that side with current
Sheshhhhshshsshhs
Please, lose the music! It's not needed in a fishing video plus it's waaay too loud!
Awesome video man! Hoping to head out there with my family this year. Where can I get a net with long handle like the one that you were using?
That's awesome 👌
Love the energy man!! Great video!!
Thank you! It’s always a blast to go out & forage.
Wow you found some really good Matsutakes! Enjoy all your videos! New subscriber here, can’t wait to see more videos
Thx! The weather has been off & harder to find more. Been watching a lot of your perch vids, nice!!!
We are Japanese family. We live matsutake but never get to enjoy. How high up elevation did you have to go?
I believe 2300 n elevation but the snow had fallen in our area so the season is done for us.
@@theadventurefamily761 thank you for responding.I guess I will see if my body can do another year. Always Uwajimaya🤗

we have snow now in WA, no more. There was no transition. Will try coastal one last time
I might do the same…
Good Stuff Brother! I havent had a chance to make it out picking. Saw a ton of rigs parked along the coast range coming back from duck hunting last weekend. Hoping to make it out in the next couple weeks when I get back from Idaho. Maybe we could meet up then?
Let me know when you’re ready bro.
Nice hunt. Every hump is a possibility! LOL
It’s true…😁
You in Oregon? Still super dry in WA, waiting for that first rain
Yes, we’re on Oregon but we went out to Washington to do a little scouting to check our area to see what the conditions were like. Just four more days & we’ll start to see some rain for a whole week! Then it’s time to time start harvesting. Stay say & happy foraging.
Lobster mushrooms are my favorite....bring them to me plz
Right on. If I get lucky again I’ll be glad to share them with you. 🙂
Good job dude! I have to try this!
Thx! This will save you a lot of bait. Good luck & tightlines.
@@theadventurefamily761 I have tons of shrimp just below my house here in Florence. Never bothered with them because they come off the hook so easy. I’ll give this a try!

Hopfully I will make it out to look for Chantrells this Fall. They are the first mushroom I learned to harvest and still my favorite. Found some Chicken of the woods and some good lobsters while elk hunting last month. Hopfully well get some more rain soon should help things out. Good too see you out and about brother!
We got lucky and looking forward to more rain so we can head to go and harvest some pine mushrooms as well. Chantrelles were the first ones we started harvesting too! These taste great as a chowder and even in hotpot. I haven’t gotten lucky with any chicken of the woods yet. This season I’m hoping to find an abundance of turkey tails to create some tinctures and make tea with them, it’s really good for boosting the immune system & helps balance out your gut bacteria. How did you do on your hunt? Let me know when you’re ready to go mushroom hunting, maybe I can head with you to your elk hunting spots and show you some other gourmet edibles such as the “elfin saddle” mushrooms. Take care bro and looking forward to our first meet up. 😎🍺
Good finds, can’t wait to get mine too!
We actually got lucky. It took us awhile to find an area that had the right conditions.
Awesome. are you in california as well?
We’re in Oregon.
Nice and simple. If you need any solar set up on your trucks let me know. I'm on the coast for another month.
Thx brotha! I’ve thought about a solar setup but there’s so many to choose from, it’s crazy.
Stay safe & be well on journeys on the coast brotha.
Your gonna have to take me fishing like that with you bro
For sure!!!
Nice bro
I love it, gonna try it this Saturday with sand shrimp!
Right on! Good luck bro!!!
Love ur vids
Thx buddy!
Yo it’s Andy
Very Good Video ... Question where did you get those cool triangle Crap Traps ? Thank you for your videos they are really helpful
Thank you. We bought the triangle crab traps at our local Fishermens Marina Store. It’s a locally owned shop. Check Sportsmen Warehouse, they’ll usually carry the same products. Glad to help and have a great day!!!
@@theadventurefamily761 Thank You ...
I was just out there Friday. Nice catch on the flounder! I’ve yet to get one but I’m not able to hit the surf much. I only found those Silver Surf Perch that day, but did manage 1 keeper male crab in the surf. I was wondering how little bait balls like this might work, thanks for sharing!
Using this setup I noticed the sent from shrimp is leaching out slowly & it’s seems to trigger the bite. I’m gonna try it again soon.
Nice flounder! Good fishing tips with the sandshrimp, I gotta get out there tomorrow and try my luck again.
These will stay on your hook longer without losing any bait. Tightlines & good luck!!!
Nice video, I’ve been meaning to give it a try as well.
Let me know when you want to go on a Saturday & I’ll take you.
Eel fishing sounds like a great time and very tasty. I will have to try it! Good stuff good eating keep fishing
Thx! It’s always fun to fish for them and taste delicious too. Tightlines buddy!
Out getting all my monkey faced eels I see.....leave some behind.....jk
Lol…we both caught our limit of 5 each. There’s a ton brotha, tightlines!!!😁
Great video, thanks for the information, I'm going to try next week, hopefully they will still have good numbers 👍
The shad should still be running. Good luck & tightlines!!’
Don’t go it’s gonna be trash the numbers are way down
@@rickysimmonds2681 Really?! My buddy just went yesterday & he came back with 3 full 5 gallon bucket’s of good size shad. He was there for about and a half…interesting. The Oregon side for me has always been good.
@@theadventurefamily761 stop capping there’s 5k going over it’s terrible fishing right now I guarantee it.
@@rickysimmonds2681 I haven’t fished at the Bonneville since this last video and that was about 2 weeks ago & my shad fishing is done for the rest of the year so I’m out fishing for panfish. I spoke with ODFW a few days ago and they said you should be able to catch them but then again that was a few days ago and the run might not be as good. I don’t fish for them that much just enough to share with family & friends who can’t make it out. Tightlines my friends.
I haven't been shad fishing in about 5 years. I need to get out there, Its SO MUCH FUN!
The shad is still running at the Bonneville. This fish is greatly under appreciated. Let me know if you want to head out and I can meet you there. Tightlines bro!
@@theadventurefamily761 5k ? There’s barely any shad running stop lying to people
Great job! I was there today! I got quite a few cockles but I couldn’t seem to find any gapers though. How low is the tide when you normally go? It was just a .4 today
Is the bite still good, I was thinking of going tomorrow morning.
Yup!!!
